Today's expression is great to be a slam dunk.
Okay. How many of you are familiar with basketball.
You know basketball, yep very popular in America.
It's getting popular more and more popular around the world I think.
In Europe it's pretty good.
I know in China and Korea they have some exciting teams.
So anyway, in the game of basketball, if a player is really tall and has great skill they can take the ball and they can jump in the air and instead of throwing the ball into the basket they can shove they can push or as we say they can slam thunk the ball into the basket and that is called a slam dunk so whenever we see a basketball player slam dunk the basketball it's amazing it's really great it's wonderful it's it's really cool.
But in Daily English we can also use slam dunk and if somebody slam dunks something it is they did something extremely successfully.
If something is going to be a slam dunk it will be absolutely a great success!

I know many countries just have Parents Day.
Well in America, in May, we have Mother's Day.
And in June, we have Father's Day.
So I'm pretty excited, because as you know, I have a new son and my wife and I have been, seriously, waiting years to have a baby and we're so excited so this is my wipes first real with a real baby in her arms Mother's Day.
So Mikey is going to give her some gifts and Mikey Mikey you know Mikey's only seven weeks old right now.
He's only seven weeks old but he loves Amazon so he was on Amazon today and he bought his mother a gift just a small gift a little heart that says mom okay, so if Mikey's mom is listening to this podcast this is a disaster and Mikey's going to kill me.
So please everybody do not tell Mikey's mom and I'm quite certain my wife will not listen to the podcast because well, her English is perfect.
So I don't think she needs a podcast.
But anyway, so I'm thinking that Mikey's gift is going to be super successful and that Mikey's mom is going to be so happy.
I'm thinking this Mother's Day is going to be a slam dunk.
