Okay today's expression to be underhanded That guy is underhanded.
Don't be underhanded He uses an underhanded method Underhanded, this is one word underhanded one word.
I'll spell it U N D E R H A N D E D.
One more time. This is an adjective guys.
It's an adjective. One word.
Here we go. U N D E R H A N D E D.
Underhanded. So this is a great expression.
imagine you're sitting at a table and you can see everybody's hands.
And the idea is if you can see everybody's hands you can trust them.
But one guy's hands or just one hand is below the table.
What's he doing with that hand, does he have a gun, does he have a knife?
Is he recording something?
His hand is under the table.
Now the level of trust goes down.
If that guy is underhanded, he's doing something secretly and or dishonestly.
He's cheating basically.
He's doing something secretly when he should not be doing something secretly.
He's doing something dishonestly not honest that's not good he's being underhanded underhanded people are bad people check out the dialogue oh what happened to Bryan I fired him why he was so friendly to everyone the customers loved him he did it to build his business he was running his own business?
That's so underhanded.
Oh man yeah that's not good that's not good that's not cool.
You know you hire somebody to do a job and it looks like they're doing a good job, but for some reason there's no growth and then you discover that that guy is actually stealing your customers stealing your software stealing your office time and doing his own business creating his own business that's underhanded you're not supposed to do that starting your own business is a great thing it's a wonderful thing but stealing business that's underhanded that's not good stuff underhanded mm -hmm yeah do you know anybody that is underhanded now we hear about it in the news not good don't do that yeah
people can be underhanded at home too yeah being really nice to mom and dad your brother or sister being really really nice to mom and dad, but actually they're doing it so that they can use the car or you know whatever.
That's underhanded.
It's not honest. That's the idea.
In the conversation the guy was doing something secretly when he shouldn't and he was being dishonest.
When you do something at home, usually it just means dishonestly.
Yeah, it could be secretly too.
It's a good expression to be underhanded.
Check it out. Go online and search for it.
You guys have a fantastic day.
And together let's master English!
