So I had lots of business business type classes and business people like the word wiziwig.
Well we did anyway.
What is wiziwig? How do you spell it?
Okay first of all the spelling is all capital letters, all big letters.
You ready? Here's the spelling WYSIWYG, one more time, WYSIWYG and they're all big letters.
And the pronunciation, wiziwig, wiziwig.
And wiziwig stands for, those are the initials.
This is actually what we call an acronym it stands for W what why you?
SCI is W what y you G get what you see is What you get?
What you see is what you get?
Wizzy -wig what you see is what you get?
Now what does this mean?
Okay, well, for example, have you heard about those internet sales?
They show you a picture on the computer, you know, on the internet, they show you a picture of a beautiful chair.
That's like, wow, that chair is really nice.
And normally, you would think the chair costs, you know, $200, $300, $500.
dollars but somehow this chair is only twenty dollars and they say WYSIWYG on the article they say WYSIWYG WYSIWYG man what you see is what you get you'll like this chair we will send it to you $20 free shipping and you order the chair you get the chair and the chair comes to your house but the chair is really really tiny I mean only a bird could sit in the chair now if you look at the chair the chair looks exactly like the internet picture but this isn't a chair that you can sit in this is a chair for a Barbie doll or for for a baby cat a kitten but you know what hey they sold you exactly what they
showed you wizzy wig now that's a terrible that's a bad example of wizzy wig okay I'll show you I'll give you a better example after you check out the dialogue What's the best type of politician?
Well, uh, what you see is what you get, politician would be best.
What does that mean?
A WYSIWYG. 1 with no surprise is.
If he says something, he does it.
No secrets. No lies.
Amen. Yes, that's true.
The best type of politician is like your daughter.
You and me, we're just honest, regular hard -working people.
If you make a promise, you keep a promise, that's just it.
I mean, that's the big thing about politicians is they never keep their promises, never.
So the best type of politician is a Wizzy Wig politician, a guy who says something and does it, a guy who looks like something and is it.
So, when you look at Coach Shane and you hear me in the podcast, you watch me in the videos, maybe you like this style, maybe you like it, well, if you join my classes, suddenly I don't change.
I don't become boring.
I don't become stupid.
I don't become mean.
I'm the same in my classes.
What you see is what you get.
Now some people, when they look for an English teacher, they want a professional.
They want someone with a PhD someone who graduated from Harvard University or Oxford University, which is wonderful.
That's great. You can do that.
Yes, you can do that But Yeah, I'm not that way.
I'm a more natural guy and I teach English from a real perspective I've been doing it for 30 years You know what you see is what you get what you learn in my class if If you watch American TV, if you listen to Americans speak that's what you're gonna hear.
So what you see in real life is what you get in my class.
And if you ask me that's the best type of class.
When I studied Korean, that's what I was looking for.
I wanted a WYSIWYG class.
I don't want the grammar.
Yes, of course grammar's important.
Vocabulary's important.
Writing's important.
Blah blah blah. it's all important, but actually, if your goal is communication, if you want to understand somebody else, and if you want someone else to understand you, well then a WYSIWYG class is most important.
Now I will tell you guys, WYSIWYG, what you see is what you get.
WYSIWYG is an acronym that is probably not super common you can go online you can google it and you can see lots of examples.
Okay but my guess is mainly business people, MBA people, they're gonna know this word but it's a great word to know.
A great word to know however if you don't wanna memorize the word that's okay memorize the expression because everybody knows the expression.
Listen, what you see is what you get, what you see is what you get.
Uh -huh. So, if you're looking for a boyfriend or a girlfriend, a husband or a wife, and you go online and you see a picture of her, do you think WYSIWYG?
