45. In today's Kid News Kicker, Ripley the Hawk just pulled off the ultimate homecoming.
The Harris Hawk disappeared from a zoo in Fresno, California last year.
It happened during a bird show when some red-tail hawks native to the area chased him off.
After 15 months of searching by zoo staff and community members, a resident spotted an unusual bird in her yard with a telltale gold ID bracelet and called the zoo.
When Ripley's caretakers arrived and called out to him, he recognized their voices.
And after about 20 minutes of coaxing, he flew over and landed safely on a glove.
According to zoo vets, he's reportedly in good health and back home where he belongs.
