Today's expression very good.
It's a phrasal verb and it is to quibble.
Over. To quibble over something.
Q U I B B L E and then over to quibble to quibble over something.
Now listen to the word.
Why do we quibble? Say it.
Quibble. Does quibble sound like a strong word?
Or a weak word? Quibble.
Quibble. I don't know, to me it sounds like a weak word.
W -E -A -K, not very strong, right?
Yeah, and that's the idea.
If you quibble over something, you are arguing about something.
You are fighting about something.
but it's not serious it's something little the argument is not serious the subject is not serious husbands and wives good friends they always quibble over things you know not too much salt oh I this is not in us this is I need a little bit more salt now that's too much so all this is this is less salt than I had yesterday no I saw what you had yesterday you had more salt than that you had the bla bla bla bla, this is the idea of to quibble over, to argue about something not so important.
It's not a serious argument, but it's a fight, it's a small fight.
Check out the dialogue.
Should we make it this blue?
Too dark. How about this?
Not blue enough! This?
not happy enough how about this one quit quibbling over a stupid color okay yeah I don't know about that dialogue it was three people a husband and a wife and some other guy and they're arguing about of the color blue yeah now You know some people who are really like art oriented people You know there's light blue and corn flower blue and sky blue and violet blue and blue blue blue blue blue blue I'm a guy to me.
There's just blue You know it's blue green Red now what the other light blue dark blue okay.
I'll say light blue dark blue That's about it.
So you know if my wife says let's paint the wall blue I I'll go to the store, and the first blue thing I see, you know paint, I'll buy.
And I then come home, not that blue!
You said blue! I don't mean that blue, I mean a lighter blue, blah, blah, blah, blue, blue, blue, blue, blue, ahhhh.
I hate quibbling over things, but it always happens!
Quibbling over stuff, always happens.
Yeah. Now, do you quibble?
What's the last, everybody quibbles.
What is the last thing you quibbled over?
And again, we quibble over things usually with our husbands and wives or very, very good friends.
Sometimes at the office, you wanna do something and the other guy wants to do something and it's possible.
But usually husbands and wives and very close friends.
Think about it. last thing you quibbled over what was the last thing you quibbled you had a small fight about let us know you guys have a fantastic day it's Thursday tomorrow is Friday one more expression this week have a fantastic weekend it's coming up pretty quick together let's master English Oh Should we make it this blue on too dark about this Not blue enough this not happy enough how about us one quit quibbling over a stupid color Should we make it this blue on too dark how about this?
