One's a person's my bearings B .E .A .R .I .M .G .S.
and we always keep that S I lost my bearings she always loses her bearings so what does it mean to lose your bearings it means to lose your sense of direction to not know where you are so some people have a good sense of direction which way is north which way is south me I do I have a very good sense of direction I can feel which way is north so even when you put me in a new town I can kind of sense where I am but many people they have no idea where they are they have completely no sense of direction they lose their bearings now of course me too if I'm in the middle of a forest in the woods and you
ask me which way is north which way is south which way is town I may not have any idea I might lose my bearings especially if the Sun is directly above me I'm gonna lose my bearings but if it's the morning when there's sunrise or Or if it's the evening when there's the sunset, then I will be able to have my sense of direction.
I can find my bearings.
I can figure out where I am.
I can get a sense of direction, okay?
Check out the dialogue.
So did you talk to Mike?
Huh? About what? About the price of the apartment.
You said you would.
Not now honey, you're making me lose my bearings.
I have to concentrate on the road.
Yes, very true. When I drive, again I have a good sense of direction.
I rarely lose my bearings, but if somebody is talking to me while I'm driving and I'm in a new part of town, I'm gonna lose my bearings and then I'm get angry.
It happens. Have you ever been driving down the road and you're supposed to make a right turn but you miss the right turn so you keep going and you keep going and you keep going and then eventually you completely lose your sense of direction.
You lose your bearings.
You don't know where you are.
You have no idea. Yeah that can happen.
Absolutely. You know what?
a couple weeks ago I was driving down the road and in the middle of the road there was a tree.
The wind had knocked down a tree.
It was in the road, and so I stopped my car, and I'm trying to get rid of the tree.
It's pretty big. I was doing okay.
I didn't want another car maybe to have an accident.
So I also called 911.
This is 911. Can I help you?
Yeah, there's a tree in the middle of the road.
Where are you? When the person asked me where I was, suddenly I lost my bearings.
I had no idea where I was.
You know, I mean, am I five miles from Am I 10 miles south of town?
I had no idea for a second I lost my bearings and then I concentrated.
Ah, let me see. Let me see.
Okay. Um, I'm about 20 minutes south of town and Then eventually I was able to move the tree, but I saw a police car going by me so I know that he was going to find the area.
But yeah, we could all lose our sense of direction, our bearings, it's possible.
To lose your bearings to find your bearings, yeah.
