Alright, today's expression. To get chunky.
Now, in this case, get, G-E-T, is the same as become.
To become chunky, to get chunky. Chunky, chunky, C-H-U-N-K-Y.
These days, well, not these days, over the past five years, I have gotten...
And I don't like it. What does it mean? Check out the dialogue, and then I'll explain.
What are you doing? Uh, getting some chocolates.
Some? You've got all the flavors. I know.
You're gonna get chunky. I like chocolate and there are many types of chocolate, many different flavors. everything for me though chocolate i just like regular chocolate for me cookies oh my goodness all the different types of cookies And when I at Christmas time, I make my own cookies.
So when I make cookies, I make many different. types of cookies and I eat them all.
I love it. And since moving back to America...
I've been eating more and more and more and more and more.
And I'm loving it. The taste is delicious.
But I'm getting chunky. I've gotten chunky.
And the idea of chunky is starting to get fat.
On your stomach, off to the side, by your hips, above your hips.
You can feel some extra skin. Like a spare tire.
It's getting bigger and bigger. This is the idea of chunky.
I can see it in my cheeks. My cheeks used to be nice and thin, but now I've got some extras.
The skin in my cheeks. I'm getting chunky.
And my butt. is getting chunkier yeah now some people like be chunky me I used to be a runner and a cyclist and a swimmer So I don't like to be chunky, but hey, right now I'm chunky.
So I guess I need to be a little careful, probably exercise more.
Actually, probably eat fewer cookies. What's your advice for me?
How should I stop from getting chunkier?
C-H-U-N-K-Y. It's a fun word, but be careful.
If you say it to someone, they might... feel bad.
Check out the dialogue a couple more times, and together, let's master English!
