Hello everybody, my name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions!

Hello everybody, welcome back to Daily Easy English Expressions, the podcast!
Yep, so today we have a very nice expression.
it is about progress.
Well, actually it's about trying to get better, working hard to improve, but every time it seems like you improve a little, something happens and you get worse or your improvement seems to disappear and This is a terrible feeling the expression is one step forward two steps back oh My goodness one step forward two steps back So let's say you're a mom or a dad and you have a child.
Who's you know 12 13 years old?
and on Monday, you have a conversation with your child and you feel like the relationship is very good and the child is going to listen to you and study hard.
Monday, you know, that day you're feeling is great.
One step forward. But then on Tuesday, the child gets in trouble at school, comes home late after school, doesn't wanna study, two steps back, one step forward two steps back, we can use this expression in relationships, we can use this expression in business, and we can use this expression when studying too.
Check out the dialogue.
How's your English going?
Uh, one step forward, two steps back.
Oh, where did you learn that expression?
Coach slams. Well, it sounds like you're learning a lot.
You know I studied the Korean language, and I remember very well.
Every time I would learn something, and then I would try to use it, and then I realized I used it wrong, my pronunciation was bad, the timing was off, the grammar was wrong, So I would learn one expression.
I feel like, yeah, I'm learning something.
I use it, and I make two or three or four mistakes.
So it was one step forward, two steps back, well you know what everybody?
That is the learning process.
But let me tell you something, it feels like one step forward and two steps back.
It feels like you are losing more than you are gaining.
However, if you keep going that one step forward will be a really huge step.
And those two steps back are just tiny steps.
And those tiny steps back are going to give you power to really master things.
So, keep stepping forward.
I guarantee you're going to progress.
You're gonna get better, you're going to master whatever it is you are doing.
Remember, one step forward, the stronger you are the more you keep going, the bigger that step will be.
Two steps back, Come back, the more you keep going, the stronger you are, the more you concentrate, the smaller those steps will be.
And you will improve.
Ok, I'm serious, it's no joke.
