He's going AWAL! What does it mean to go AWAL?
Well let me spell it.
A -W -O -L. A -W -O -L. To go AWAL.
AWAL actually stands for something.
And I'll tell you after you check out the dialogue.

He went AWOL! Isn't Tonight the Banda MS Concert?
That's right! He's in the band!
You know, one of my DDM students is a Superstar in the Banda music genre.
Yeah, he's from the beautiful city of Mazatlán in Mexico.
I hope my pronunciation is OK.
And he's one of the Superstars.
He plays the clarinet Pavel, if I'm wrong, I am super embarrassed Yes, so yes If Pavel goes AWOL I guarantee you Bandha MS will not be happy And neither will the thousands of fans To go AWOL AWOL A -W -O -L It stands for Absent Without Leave absent a without w o leave le AVE now A wall absent without leave actually comes from the US Military and it means the person the soldier in this case the band member Pavel is absent he's gone without permission without telling anyone he just left.
Maybe he's sick. Maybe he's hurt.
Maybe there's an emergency.
Maybe he doesn't want to play in the band tonight.
Who knows why he's not there but that's the idea.
Don't worry. Pavel is there.
I was in the army a long time ago.
I never went AWOL but But sometimes we do go AWOL.
We're supposed to be at work but you're not there.
Nobody knows where you are.
They call you, you don't answer your phone.
You're supposed to go to some party.
You don't go. Everybody wonders where you are.
They call you, you don't answer.
In that case you are AWOL.
Yeah. For me when was the last time I went AWOL?
Gosh, it has to be about ten years ago.
There was a company party.
I worked at a language school They had an event I told the boss that I would go but of course I didn't they called me maybe four or five times I never answered my phone.
I was a wall. Yeah later on.
I told my boss. Oh, oh my god, I Was sleeping?
I'm so sorry, ha ha ha actually No, I was at home.
Yeah, I didn't want to go I'm not a party guy.
I'm not What about you?
When was the last time you went AWOL?
Going AWOL is not really good for other people.
So if you need to cancel or if you don't want to go someplace, tell people so they don't worry about you and so that you don't get into trouble.
Don't go AWOL. If you go AWOL, people are going to worry and you might end up in big trouble.
Don't go AWOL. Okay?
