This is how I got started doing freelance voice work.

I used to work at a mental health center doing transcription, and then my husband got a job in a different location, and so when we moved, rather than finding another real job, I decided to see if I could find online transcription jobs.

And so I found a platform for freelancers for a bunch of different kinds of jobs, including transcription.

And in doing so, I actually came across jobs that were asking, of course, for voice to be turned into text.

That would be transcription. but then also for text to be turned into voice, so voice recording.

And I thought hey, that sounds fun and my husband works in radio, so he already had the equipment that I would need a microphone and the software and everything.
