Today's expression is very good.
heading H e ad I m g and Going go ing.
Yeah. So if you like soccer Well in America, we say soccer the rest of the world says football if you like soccer Then you're familiar with heading Heading is actually hitting the soccer ball with your head hopefully making a goal.
This is the idea of heading in the game of soccer, but in America, of course we say heading and soccer, but soccer isn't as popular.
So in America when you hear heading it means going and we use this expression all the time and it makes complete sense.
I'll explain why after you check out the easy dialogue.
Here you go. Going somewhere?
I'm heading out. Where you going?
I'll head over to Mike's then home.
Too simple going somewhere are you going somewhere?
I'm heading out. I'm leaving.
Where are you going?
I'll head over to Mike's.
I'll go over to Mike's then home and then after that I will go home.
So going or heading, they are the same thing, why?
Well think about it.
When you go some place, your head goes with you and your head kind of leads the way, maybe not physically leads the way, but you're thinking about where you're going, so your head is telling you where you are going and some people do walk with their head going first. Yeah, I don't know exactly why, but that's what we say, heading, going someplace.
I'm headed towards my mom's house.
Do you need a ride to the store?
Actually, today I was driving and along the road I saw two hitchhikers.
Two people who wanted somebody to give them a ride and they had a sign that said, I think the sign said Phoenix.
I didn't really look at them.
They're dirty guys, and I don't want dirty guys in my car.
Am I a bad person? I hope I'm not a bad person, but I think the sign said basically heading to Phoenix, I think that's what the sign said.
So they wanted to ride anybody going in that direction, not going to Phoenix, their sign said heading to Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona.
I was not going to Phoenix, Arizona.
So tomorrow or today I want you to use this expression.
So think about right now, where are you headed?
I am headed to the office.
At lunchtime, where will you be heading?
I will be heading to McDonald's.
After work, after school, where will you be headed?
I'm headed to the store, then I'll be heading to my house.
Whatever, I want you to use this expression today, It's an easy expression and if you're heading someplace and not driving, take a picture.
Share where you are headed.
We'd love to see it if you share those pictures on Twitter or share them on Facebook.
Everybody we all enjoy seeing where you are.
So we wanna know where you are and we want to know where you are headed.
Going and heading, the same thing.
In America heading is very common. not only in soccer but when we're going places.
Check out the dialogue two more times, have a fantastic day.
If you're heading someplace and driving or wherever, riding a bike or walking, be careful.
