Today's expression, it's crucial that you know today's word. Oh, that's today's word, crucial.
Ah yes, crucial. If something is crucial, what does it mean?
First of all, can you spell it?
Crucial. Crucial. C -R -U -C -I -A -L.
Crucial. Crucial. If something is crucial, that means it's important.
No, no, no, no, not just important, it is extremely important.
Very, very, very, very, very super important.
It is ultra important.
That's the idea. Many, many, many crucial things in this world.
education is crucial it is eating properly is crucial loving as a verb is crucial believing in the future is crucial i think some people might disagree can you think of things that are crucial well in today's dialogue i an excellent example.
Do you have a dog, a pet, a DoG?
Oh yeah, I know many of my DDM students have dogs, they sent me pictures.
I love them, I love dogs, cats, I love any type of animal except bugs but bugs aren't animals.
Anyway, if you have a dog, listen to today's dialogue.
There's some crucial information, information that you need to know that's very, very important.
And you probably already know this information, but listen carefully.
Are you ready? Here we go Cake I'm gonna share it with Rex It's crucial that you don't let Rex eat this cake.
Why not? He loves all desserts But this is chocolate Chocolate can kill dogs That's right Chocolate can kill dogs!
Do not feed dogs chocolate!
Not even a little bit!
Don't even test! No, keep chocolate away from dogs.
And dogs, you know, dogs are sometimes, sometimes they're really smart but sometimes they're kind of dumb.
And if you give them chocolate they'll eat it.
I'm sure they'll eat it.
I've seen dogs eat things they really shouldn't eat.
but once again, if you have a dog, if you see a dog, do not, do not feed it chocolate.
It'll get very sick, and it could die.
It's very dangerous, so yeah, it's crucial, very, very important.
Many things to think about if you have a pet, or if you have a child.
Yeah, I'm serious. If you have a husband and a wife, there are crucial things, things we must know, things that are extremely important all around us.
So I want to know what you think.
Look around yourself, think about your life, think about your job, think about your family.
Tell me something crucial, something that's very important that you need to know, because if you don't know this information, something very bad could happen.
What are some examples of crucial things?
I'll give you one more example.
When I was young, my dad came home at 5 p .m. From a long day of work, he went to work pretty early.
He left about 7, 7 a .m. and came home about 5, 5 .30 p .m. And it was crucial that I, his son, not speak to him.
I could say, hi, hi dad, welcome home.
That was it. I couldn't speak to him for at least 30 minutes, probably an hour.
I had to wait probably an hour before I could talk with my dad It was crucial that I remember that every day because If I started talking too much asking too many questions Asking if I can go someplace asking for money asking asking asking if I did any of that My dad would get angry and absolutely the answer forever would be no no no no Ugh, yeah, my dad was tough, very, very tough.
It was crucial that I be very nice, be very quiet, especially to my father after he came home from work.
Very, very crucial, very important.
That's my example. I want to hear your examples.
