Welcome back to daily easy English expression.
Today's expression is very, very good.
It's perfect for a nice relaxing Sunday.
Oh, wait. It's monday.
Oh no. Yeah. Are you really busy?
Are you super busy?
Are you running ragged?
That's today's expression.
To run ragged. To run ragged.
R a g g e d. This is an expression and it means to be super tired.
To be running over here and running over there and doing this and doing that.
And just the idea of continuously working.
Never having a break.
Non -stop work. That's the idea.
Now let's look at the word ragged, R -A -G -G -E -D.
Well there's a noun, rag.
R -A -G... Do you know what that is?
Well a rag is usually a piece of cloth that we use to clean furniture or or clean the floors, or clean the toilet.
So, for example, I have an old T -shirt, and it's just a silly T -shirt, but it's so old that it has many holes.
So, about a month ago, I decided, no, I'm not going to wear this T -shirt anymore, I'll use it as a rag and I'll clean my bathroom with it.
So that t -shirt, it used to be really nice, a nice clean -cuts t -shirt but I wore it so many times, I washed it so many times, it started to get holy, it started to become a rag.
And that's the idea.
Your body, you're wearing a business suit, your hair, it looks really nice but you're so busy, you're running here, running there, you're losing your good looks, you're losing your health.
You are running ragged.
That's the idea. Let's check out a conversation.

Pretty tough? I'm busy from 7am to 7pm non -stop.
Wow. Don't work too hard. Oh, that does sound like a bad schedule.
7 am to 7 pm, that's not good.
So what about you? What is your weak schedule?

You know, I know, especially if you have children and you're working, you have to wake up early in the morning, you have to feed your children, you have to put their clothes on, then you got to make sure they go to school, then you got to get dressed and get ready for work and then you got to go to work and then you got to work all day and then you got to pick up the kids from school and then you got to make sure they do their homework and then you got to make sure they eat their dinner and then you got to make sure they take a shower and then you got to make sure they go to bed and then you get
some time to relax it, but then you got to wake up in the morning and you have to, oh you're running ragged, I know every parent out there with children you are running ragged Hopefully you're working as a team.
Hopefully the husband and wife You have a good team, right?
I Hope so because if you're leaving it up to one person.
Oh Man, you're not being nice.
It's really tough. I know but it's a responsibility running ragged Me am I running ragged?
Yeah, especially Really?
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Those are my busy days.
Tuesday to Saturday.
Sunday, pretty nice.
Monday, not too bad.
Actually today I am a little bit busy.
I got to go into town.
I hate going into town!
I like staying at home!
