Still getting organized. Today, I put together a few bookcases, moved books around.
I'm telling you books can be really heavy.
I'm pretty beat. I am pretty beat. That is today's expression.
I am pretty pretty Beat, B-E-A-T. Now, pretty is an interesting word.
If you look in the dictionary, of course, the first definition is something like beautiful, but the second definition, would be a little, kind of.
But sometimes pretty can mean a lot. I know, sometimes it means a little, sometimes it means a lot.
How do we know which is which? the context of the situation you have to understand the situation so for example Today, the temperature outside is 40.
41 degrees Celsius. Not where I live, but maybe somewhere.
Is that hot? That's pretty hot. That's pretty hot.
In this case, of course, pretty means very.
Okay? So if you go to buy a sandwich... a sandwich at mcdonald's and regular hamburger is a dollar And the cheeseburger is $1.25.
Oh, that's pretty expensive. That's a little expensive.
That's the idea. So it's not too much more, but a little bit more expensive.
So anyway, pretty beat, B-E-A-T. Now beat means you are tired.
It's like somebody... was beating your body and you're very tired and perhaps even sore and So especially after doing something very strenuous, something that took Lots of work, like putting together bookshelves and moving books around. or chopping down trees, or shopping for five hours.
Those types of activities will make you perfect.
Pretty beat. Cycling, running, exercising.
After you're done, you can say, oof. I'm pretty beat.

We've got a couple of... things to do we've gotta upgrade our website We've got to, oh, I would love to be able to hire somebody I need people for so many different things from – administrative work to helping me out with The students and saying hi and leaving messages, going through my email.
I get so much email. Then there's the technical side.
I would love to have an engineer. Then there's the graphics side, somebody to help make pictures.
And it's tough stuff because it's easy. Every day.
It's not just... once a week or something like that.
It's every day. And each little job takes an hour, two hours.
And pretty soon you're working 15, 16 hours a day.
And it's exhausting. But I do love it. I love the opportunity to be your English coach.
So that $1 or $4, $5, whatever, It helps so much.
It means a lot to me. And I know many of you don't have the money to invest.
I understand. Or you're a kid. You're in elementary school, in high school.
You don't have a credit card. I totally understand.
