Hello everybody! Welcome back to Daily Easy English Expression.
You know what? Our podcast is in the top 10 on iTunes and I'm going to tell you in which countries after we learn today's expression.
Oh today's expression is a good one!
it is twish twish t -w -o -o -s -h twish now twish is a new word and it is related to Twitter do you know about Twitter the messaging service the social media site Twitter yeah I think most Most of you probably do.
But let me go back in time, twish is a new word, the old word is woosh, W -O -O -S -H.
And that is an expression that comes from basketball.
So if you've ever played basketball, you understand that you have to take the big ball, the basketball, and throw it into a basket.
And the basket is a metal rim, the circle, it's a circle metal rim with a net, you know, like a fishing net.
And if the ball goes into the basket without touching the rim, if it goes perfectly into the hole and only touches the net, you hear this sound, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, and that's it's a perfect shot, it's a perfect basketball shot and that, we say, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
So if you're talking about basketball, man, I love basketball, oh yeah, are you any good?
Every time I shoot, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh and the idea is every time you shoot, you make a perfect basket.
Okay, so now, let's go back to Twitter and whoosh.
So, if you use Twitter, you understand if you're using English characters, you can only type one hundred forty characters.
So, people new to Twitter, that doesn't seem like much. Oh, one hundred forty characters is too short.
But, if you get used to using Twitter, one hundred forty characters is not too bad.
Now, do you type exactly one hundred forty characters?
Now, usually it's 80 characters or 110 characters or something, but sometimes it's exactly 140 characters.
It's precisely 140 characters.
In that case, it's a perfect tweet.
It's a tush. So we take the tea from Twitter and the whoosh from a perfect basket and we put it together twos.
So today's expression is for everybody who uses Twitter.
And if you're not using Twitter, why not?
You can just follow me, that's enough and it's a great way to find out when I upload videos, okay?

Now that includes punctuation so let me read it again.

If you ever have questions, comma, please ask me, exclamation point.
And all that together, 140 characters, it's a perfect tweet, it's a tush.
Now, here's the challenge.
If you're on Twitter, why don't you try and make a perfect tweet in English?
That's gonna be very difficult.
What can you say? Maybe you can say something about what you did today or what you're going to have for lunch or why you like to study English or what your favorite English expression is or maybe it's a question to me.
Shane, please teach this expression but here's my challenge.
Can you do that on Twitter and have it be a twish.
Perfectly 140 characters, can you try that?

But today I got a mysterious letter from Apple, Apple .com and they sent me a message and they told me that my podcast, Daily Easy English Expression, this podcast has been selected for iTunes iTunes Best of 2014.
And this is chosen by the iTunes editorial team.
And it's not just education.
It includes everything like entertainment podcasts and news podcasts, and all the different podcasts.
and our podcast daily easy English expression podcast is in the top 10 but not in the United States nobody I don't think anybody just a couple people my mom my sister and me we listen to my podcast in America where do you live Where do you listen to my podcast anyway which countries is our podcast in the top 10?
Well, I was looking through all the different iTunes stores and as far as I could see we are in four countries Brazil Obrigado, thank you so much France Merci beaucoup.
