Hello everybody. My name is Coach Shane and welcome to EASY English Expressions.
You and me every day.
Come on! Let's master English.
Hello, everybody. Welcome back to Daily Easy English Expression.
Yep, back to business.
It is podcast number 201.
Today's expression describes me.
Swagger. S -W -A -G -G -E -R.
These days after 200 podcasts, I'm feeling very confident.
I'm feeling very powerful.
I'm feeling very cool.
I'm feeling like James Bond, and have you So the idea, now this is a word that we use, especially to describe men.
I guess we could use it to describe women.
But, especially men, men who are very confident, actually maybe too confident.
They walk like they're really super cool, super tough.
I don't know I keep thinking of some guy at a night club.
I keep thinking of some guy, who's at a night club with his shirt unbuttoned, you know like five buttons are unbuttoned.
His three pieces of hair are sticking out gold necklace.
Walking around really cool.
What's up John? What's up Pete?
How's it going everybody and all the ladies look at him and go oh Yeah, that guy walks around with swagger What about you if you're a guy?
Do you walk around with a swagger So we use this word in daily English like this He's got swagger That guy has swagger and what it means is he's really cool He is pretty powerful.
He is very confident.
People like him. He probably has some money.
He's probably pretty smart.
Maybe he has a good job.
The guy has got swagger.
Me, Coach Shane, do I have swagger?
Well, let's check out the dialog first. Oh look at that guy swagger.
He must think he's so hot.
He's bald! Oh my god.
Yes, it's true. Sometimes, like yesterday, you know, I did two hundred podcasts.
I was feeling really good so after I finished my podcast, I took a walk outside you know feeling very confident feeling pretty good I had a swagger I was walking with a swagger and I heard people laughing at me yeah having a bald head and swagger it's possible I guess you know Michael Jordan his head that is totally clean.
And, definitely he walks with Swagger.
Eh. I don't know. Me, though.
No. I probably shouldn't walk with Swagger.
Yeah, I need more hair for that.
Swagger. It's a very common word among the youth in America these days.
You know, teenagers, 20s even into their 30s.
To walk with swagger, to have swagger, it's not necessarily a bad thing.
Having confidence is actually sometimes pretty darn good.
Do you have swagger?
Ladies, does your man have swagger?
Does your father have swagger?
Sometimes every man will have some swagger.
Can you tell us when that is.
Check out the dialog two more times and I've got a couple of thank yous.
Oh, look at that guy swagger.
He must think he's so hot.
He's bald. Oh my God!
Oh, look at that guy swagger.
He must think he's so hot.
He's bald. Oh my God!
