Hello everybody, welcome back to Daily Easy English expression.
Today's expression is a verb, it is to shadow.
To shadow someone or I guess to shadow something.
So, we discovered yesterday that a shadow is that silhouette that the sun creates when it's shining.
So, if the sun is shining brightly in your face, if you look on the ground, you can actually see your shadow.
Me and my shadow. So, shadow.
It's a word that I think everybody probably knows.
to shadow means to follow somebody like a stalker or like a detective or like a killer or a spy something like that have you ever shadowed anybody actually shadowing people can be lots of fun you can find out what they're doing you can spy on them.
Are you shadowing me?
Yes. Hmm. However, if somebody is shadowing you, it's no fun.
I don't like it. Do you shadow?
Have you ever been shadowed?
Let's check out the dialogue.
What are you doing?
I'm shadowing Sue. Why?
John thinks she's cheating on him.
Cool! Can I come with you?
Oh boy. Oh boy. So this guy is shadowing Sue.
He's following Sue, but quietly, Sue doesn't know.
He's spying on Sue.
Why? Because Sue's, I don't know, boyfriend or husband, John, thinks that Sue is cheating on him.
Sue is meeting another man.
So, this guy is shadowing Sue.
Oh, that's a serious situation, maybe that guy is a detective.
Mm hm. Now to be honest, I like shadowing my cats.
I like following them, and finding out what they do.
Now it's very difficult shadowing cats, because cats are very sensitive.
But I'm getting better.
I move silent like a cat when I was young I would shadow my sister to find out what she was doing where she was getting her secret Stash of cookies, and then I would take her cookies shadowing somebody spying on somebody following somebody stalking somebody be honest My name is Jon.
Do you shadow anyone?
Have you shadowed anyone?
