Hello everybody, my name is coach Shane.
And welcome to Easy English Expressions!
You and me everyday.
Come on! Let's master English!
Hello everybody. Welcome back to daily easy English expression today's expression is very simple but I'm gonna change one word over the next two days and Completely change the meaning today's expression is in the shade in the shade very simple expression it just means outside of the sunshine So, as you might know, I live in the desert, and the sun is relentless.
Constant sun, every day, always sunny.
And for me, my skin is very pale, it's very weak, and I'm an old man.
I need to stay out of the sun. I need to stay out of the sun. I need to stay out of the sun. So, I wear a hat.
And the hat gives me shade.
It keeps my face and my neck and my shoulders out of the sun. If I see a tree, I go under the tree, and the tree gives me shade.
It protects me from the direct rays of the sun. And also, I wear sunglasses.
glasses. Those are called shades.
S -H -A -D -E -S. And those shades protect my eyes from the sun. So when I go outside, I do my best to stay in the shade.
In the shade of a tree.
in the shade of a building in the shade of my hat and behind my shades wearing my sunglasses let's check out a dialogue let's move over there under those trees yeah I prefer the shade yeah the Sun is strong today that's right what about you if the Sun is shining do you like to be in the Sun Do you like to soak up the sun's raise?
When I was young, I did love soaking up the sun's raise.
Yeah, I enjoyed it, going to the beach, running outside, cycling with just my shorts on.
Oh, it was great! Life was wonderful as a child.
But now that I'm old, I have to be careful of the sun. It gives you wrinkles.
It gives you spots.
Dries your skin out and can give you cancer.
I'm, that's just me.
That's just me. If you're still enjoying the sun, do enjoy.
Get your vitamin D but be careful.
Don't stay out in the sun too much. Make sure you have some shade around you so that you can protect yourself, okay?
Now like I said, tomorrow and the next day, Okay, I'll also be using the word shade, s -h -a -d -e, but different meanings.
So be sure to listen to the next couple of podcasts for sure.
Let's check out the dialogue two more times.
Let's move over there.
Under those trees? Yeah.
