It's imagination time with Katie. Hi friends!
You're listening to Super Simple Imagination Time with Katie!
This episode is inspired by the super simple song Rain Drops Falling.
We hope you have fun! It's good to be with you, my friend.
Hello, hello. I'm glad we're together again.
We got Zach on the keys. Katie singing la la la la la we'll have some fun in our imagination go on adventures again and again hello Hello.
It's good to be with you, my friend. Hello, hello.
Thanks for joining us today. I'm Katie, and Zach is here too.
Hello, hello. And today, we'll pretend to go outside to play!
Hooray! Outside, but isn't it going to rain?
Hmm. It might. The clouds I'm imagining do look like they might start to rain at any moment.
Bye. We can still play outside. A little rain won't stop us.
But before we head out on our playtime adventure, let's take a few moments to quiet down.
We'll relax our bodies and our minds. so we can have lots of fun playing outside in our imaginations.
Let's start by taking a deep breath together.
In one, two, three, hold it Out three, two, one Let's take a moment to focus on the sounds we hear.
I hear Zach's piano. It goes... Chop. Like little raindrops falling down.
Let's wiggle our fingers like we're sprinkling raindrops around. and wiggle our toes too.
Now let's take one more big breath. In one, two, three, hold it.
Out three, two, one. Now we're ready to play outside.
It's gonna be so much fun, even if it starts to rain.
Raindrops, raindrops falling all around Raindrops, raindrops falling on the ground Raindrops, raindrops falling from the sky Raindrops falling from up high Ooh, if the rain starts falling from up high in the sky, it would be good if we had our rain gear on.
Just in case. Good idea. Yeah, then we can keep playing, whether it rains or not.
So let's get ready! Getting ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready to go.
Put on your rain jacket. Put on your rain boots.
Don't forget your umbrella! Now! We're ready, ready, ready, we're ready, ready, ready to play outside.
Let's pretend to open the door. and step outside.
Let's look up to the sky. I imagine the clouds are big and dark gray.
It does look like it could rain. The air even smells like it might rain.
I imagine it smells kind of sweet and warm.
Oh. Do you hear that? I imagine I hear little raindrops.
One falling over here. Another one falling over there.
Can imagine I feel the raindrops, dripping on my hand, and on my head, drip, drip, drop.
We're starting to fall faster now. Falling all over.
All around us. And on us too. Raindrops falling, falling, falling Raindrops falling down, down, down Raindrops falling, falling, falling Raindrops falling all around My rain jacket and rain boots are getting all wet now.
Let's put up our umbrellas. Yes, good thing we brought them.
Let's open up our umbrellas and lift them up above us.
I'm imagining I'm twirling a yellow umbrella with blue polka dots round and round.
It protects me from the rain. I can imagine I see the raindrops land on the top of the umbrella and drip down to the edge where they plop down to the ground.
There's lots of raindrops plopping down on the ground.
I can see them in my mind. Hitting the ground and bouncing back with little splashes.
Can you see them? There's so many of them.
I can imagine I see all the raindrops gathering together.
Making puddles. More raindrops are falling, making the puddles bigger and bigger.
These puddles look like they would be a lot of fun to jump in.
Can we try jumping in the puddles? We have our rain boots on, so let's give it a try.
On the count of three, Two... Three... Jump!
Splash! We made a big splash! We can make a much bigger splash than the raindrops do.
Let's jump into another puddle. One. Two.
Three... Jump! Splash! That's so fun! Okay, one more.
Let's find a big, big, big puddle. Can you see one?
Let's take a look around for the biggest puddle.
Look around. Look around, look around and see what can be found I see a big big big puddle over there.
Do you see it in your mind? It's so big!
Let's go check it out. I think this is going to make a big splash.
Are you ready? One, two, three, jump, splash!
Whoa, water everywhere. It felt like the rain was coming up from the puddle that time.
The rain and puddles can be a lot of fun to play in.
What else could we play in this big puddle?
Can you think of any ideas? I'm thinking of thought I'm thinking a lot Hmm.
We need an idea. Let's work with what we've got.
Oh. Let's pretend we have a paper boat.
And then we can have it set sail on the big puddle.
Can you imagine your paper boat in your mind?
Mine is a pirate boat. Let's see if the pirate boat floats in the big puddle.
Let's drop it in! And look! It's floating!
We can imagine the big puddle is the deep blue sea with our boat going this way and that way over the big waves up and down.
Whoo, riding on a pirate ship like that looks like a lot of fun.
Hey, can we pretend to be the pirates on the boat?
We can imagine we're super small. Small enough to sail on our paper pirate ship in our big puddle.
Anything is possible when we use our imaginations.
We can be anything. When we're imagining Anything we want to be Imagine with me Let's imagine we're super small.
Our bodies are shrinking. Smaller and smaller and the raindrops are getting bigger and bigger as we get smaller and smaller.
Whoa! Now the big puddle looks like a giant ocean!
What else can you see that looks different?
I imagine I see a flower that's so big, it looks like a tree.
And there's a rock that was so little before, but now it's a big, huge boulder! and our pirate ship.
Now it's so big we can climb aboard and set sail.
Let's go! It was a rainy day when I went to play down by the sea I climbed aboard a pirate ship and the captain said to me, we're going this way, that way Up and down, up and down, over the deep blue sea.
We're sailing the deep blue sea. Let's move our bodies this way!
Woo! And that way! Woo! We can move the ship forward and backward.
Ooh, the jumbo raindrops! Splash into the puddles, making big waves!
Oh, here comes a big one! Up and down. Up and down.
Over the waves. This is fun. Oh, what's this now?
I think the sun is coming out. I imagine I can see it peeking through the dark clouds up above.
It's shining down onto our deep blue sea.
It's drying up all the rain and making our big puddle smaller and smaller.
Uh-oh. Soon there won't be any big puddle left for our pirate ship.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.
Let's imagine ourselves big again. Otherwise, we'll be on a pirate ship with no deep blue sea to set sail in.
Let's grow bigger and bigger and bigger The flowers and the rocks are getting smaller as we get bigger and bigger until we're back to the size we were before.
Now our paper pirate boat is small again, and the puddle is almost gone.
The rain has stopped too, and the sun is shining now.
I can hear the birds chirping. Tweet tweet.
Tweet tweet. Yep, looks like the rain is all gone.
Let's save our paper boat to play with the next time it rains.
Great idea! We can always use our imaginations to pretend it's raining at any time.
Let's pretend we feel those raindrops falling one more time.
Oh, it was on my head. Oh, that one was on my arm.
On my rain boots! Can you imagine you feel them?
Raindrops falling, falling, falling Raindrops falling down, down, down Raindrops falling, falling, falling Raindrops falling all around That was a really fun, rainy day adventure.
Thanks for playing with us, and we'll have more imagination time together soon.
It's time now to say goodbye. But we'll play together again soon!
