To the EQ number 369.
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression, very, very good.
This is a very common expression, to get through.
To get through the day, to get through the week, to get through the month, to get through the hour, to get through a period of time.
It means to survive a period of time.
And the idea you're very tired, or maybe you're very sick, or maybe you're very stressed, Or maybe you're very busy.
Or you're very anxious.
For some reason, the next hour will be very difficult.
For some reason, the next month will be very difficult.
I can tell you.
Right now I'm in the desert.
I live in the desert in the United States.
And for the next five or six months, it's going to be extremely hot.
Today it was 37 degrees.
For me, it's too hot.
I don't know if I will get through the summer.
I don't know if I will survive through the summer.
I'm not looking forward to it.
To get through.
Are you getting through something right now?
Maybe today is a Friday, so maybe you're getting through a difficult week.
This weekend, is it going to be stressful?
Will you be busy?
Are you going to get through the weekend?
I hope so.
Let's check out a dialogue.
I don't know if I'm going to get through the day.
Are you that stressed?
Can I help?
Would you please pick up the kids from school?
You bet.
And I'll pick up some chicken for dinner.
Oh, thank you so much.
What a lovely couple, a husband and a wife.
The wife is very stressed.
She's worried about getting through the day.
But the husband is going to help.
He's going to pick up the children from school and he's going to pick up some dinner.
Ooh, great usage of pick up.
Pick up the kids.
That means, of course, meet the kids and bring them home.
Pick up some chicken for dinner.
That means buy some chicken for dinner.
If he does those things correctly, he will definitely help his wife get through the day.
So are you married?
Is there something you can do to help your wife or your husband get through the day?
Do you live at home with mom and dad?
Is there something you can do for your mom or your dad to help them get through the day?
Is there something that somebody could do for you to help you get through the day?
Think about that.
If you can, leave a message on Twitter at Coach Shane.
On Facebook, ESL Coach Shane.

Tell me what needs to be done in order to get through the day.
Listen to the dialogue two more times.

You bet.
And I'll pick up some chicken for dinner.
