I usually absolutely hate winter.
Like this is my least favorite time of year.
I just always get so unproductive no matter what I do.
And it's so hard to stay motivated.
Like the sun sets at 4 PM every day.
I hate it.
I really want to fix that in this video though.
Like I want this winter to be so different.
I had to make another trip to Sephora to get this foundation because I am officially the palest I've ever been and my usual foundation does not match me at all.
So I had to buy a whole new one.
I have a nail appointment in like 10 minutes that I have to get to.
Honestly, one of my favorite things to do is book an appointment early, because it forces me to get out the door.
If I book an appointment at like noon, then I don't have to do anything my entire morning.
But if I book it at eight, then I have to get there, you know, and I have to get up and I have to get ready.
So anytime I really want to change my routine, I book an appointment like that and it forces me to get up and it actually makes a huge difference because then it's done first thing in the morning.
I ended up with two big bags of groceries.
My nail appointment was actually really fast.
Usually I'm there for like two hours, but it only took like an hour today.
They turned out pretty cute.
They're really short.
I don't think I've ever had my nails this short before.
I was like, I'll just get them cut down a little bit.
Like usually that's what I like to do.
And he just went for it and cut off like a huge chunk.
And I was like, okay.
I'm going with it, but they're not bad.
They look good.
They look a lot better than before.
I ended up going with the same light pink, which I almost never do.
I usually always switch it up to something different every set, but I was like, why not?
I kind of liked the light pink.
It's like the exact shade of pink I love.
The grocery store is right next door.
So I was like, I might as well just get that out of the way too.
Here is what my fridge looks like.
I just finished organizing it and I think it looks so good.
I've been loving having my fridge organized like this.
It's so much nicer when you can see everything.
So I started using glass Tupperware containers to store my produce.
This way I see exactly what I have.
Nothing's tucked away going bad because honestly I hate this refrigerator.
Like it is so narrow.
I can't see anything.
And then I honestly just discovered energy drinks.
Like I never tried them I always would say I'd rather just drink coffee, But recently I decided to try them out and they've saved me lately.
I've had so much going on and so I started drinking energy drinks and it helps a lot.
It's crazy.
I honestly never thought I would have them in my family fridge, but i usually drink celsius.
This raspberry one's really good, and they have a cherry cola one that's my favorite.
But then i've also been wanting to try these alani's, so i got cherry twist and pink slush i'm so excited for these.
And then i got pineapple juice, cottage cheese my favorite here's all my produce and then i got cream cheese and eggs.
I also have this greek yogurt in here that i need to finish.
I love seeing a full fridge.
Honestly, it feels so good And there is nothing like that first meal after a grocery trip.
Finally having food in my kitchen is a game changer.
So I always go all out for that first meal avocado toast.
I have cottage cheese on this one.
I don't know why, but i was really feeling scrambled eggs.
I always do over easy eggs, but today i switched it up and then i added some tomatoes.
I'm so excited this looks so good.
It has been so cold in my apartment, and when it's cold in here, the only thing I want to do is sit on the couch wrapped in a blanket.
Like I literally cannot get myself off the couch if it's cold.
So I turned on the heater and I'm up.
I caught myself scrolling on my phone for like 20 minutes and I had to just put it away.
Like honestly it's a thing year round, but like especially in winter, I am on my phone for way too much time.
So every time I catch myself like scrolling, then I just put it down and I'm like, stop.
That's not worth your time.
Anyway, the next thing I wanted to get done today was I wanted to clean my apartment.
I'm trying to keep everything picked up as often as possible.
I don't want it to get super bad before I finally decide to clean my apartment.
Instead, I want to do it section by section and just have it done.
Like it doesn't have to be perfect 24 seven, but as long as it's not terrible.
So that is what I'm going to do next.
Cleaning always takes all of my energy out, especially because I have stairs in my apartment, so I'm just constantly going up and down the stairs.
I am so tired now.
I use my iPad every single day.
Like I am always planning or scheduling something on here.
I love drawing out my calendar.
I love taking notes.
Regardless, I use my iPad every single day and it is in need of an upgrade.
This case used to be light pink and that is not light pink.
So I just bought this new iPad case and I am so excited for it.
I love the polka dots.
This looks so much better, so much cleaner and nicer.
And I also have been so excited to upgrade my iPad with this paper-like screen protector.
I heard about all throughout college.
This is a screen protector for your iPad.
This literally makes your iPad screen feel like paper.
It's honestly so crazy.
A lot of my classmates had these in college.
I was an art major, so I took a lot of digital drawing classes, and this was the coolest thing.
I just love the feel of pencil on paper and it's also super easy to apply and align to my ipad screen.
I put this right on my ipad screen myself and i didn't have any problems with air bubbles or dust.
It makes my ipad feel like a pen and paper.
It's so crazy.
The paperlike 3's true paper feel comes from a nano dot surface, which is a micro texture technology perfected over years to deliver the exact friction your hand naturally expects.
Each pack comes with two screen protectors and they provide 100 satisfaction or a money back guarantee within 100 days of purchase.
So definitely check out Paperlike using the link in my description, and thank you so much to them for sponsoring today's video.
Now it's time for a workout.
Honestly, for me, working out is the hardest this time of year, with it getting dark earlier and also it being cold out.
I do not make it to the gym nearly as much as i do any other time of year, but this is really what winter arc means to me.
I am trying to show up for myself in as many ways as possible.
I think, with it getting dark out, it's honestly another way to romanticize showing up for yourself in all of the ways that are the hardest.
One of my favorite parts about working out is walking over in a cute gym outfit and carving out time in my routine to just be there with my headphones on and make it 100 about me.
So during the winter that's definitely the hardest, but I think this is really where the discipline comes in.
Winter arc to me, is a period during the darkest, coldest days of the year, and it's a time to refocus, visualize and really work towards my goals and my desired destination.
Like this is really when it counts.
This is when I'm working for it and I really start to focus and turn on that discipline, because if I can get a workout in throughout my routine during this time of year, then I can do it any time of year.
So I feel like this is the big test.
So anyway, I am in for a good workout today.
That was a really hard workout.
I am sweating.
I'm so out of breath, i'm so hot.
I'm dripping in sweat right now.
Honestly, that workout was so good.
It's exactly what i needed.
Yeah, i really need to go home and, Oh my God, you guys.
I thought this was a face mask and I just applied it for like the last couple minutes and I was like wow, this is really hard to like blend in.
This is not a face mask, it's a moisturizer.
Um, yeah, this is a moisturizer.
It's been a really long day.
I can't make this up.
Are you kidding me right now?
What do I even do?
Let's start over.
That's better.
It's obviously been a really long day.
I am so tired.
I feel like I was doing something nonstop all day.
Like I did not take a break, but honestly it was so nice.
I have been going nonstop all day.
But honestly, I'm so proud of that.
Like, I got so much done.
I pretty much cleared off my entire checklist for the day.
And honestly, this is how I want to treat this season.
I want to be productive.
I want to stay motivated.
And...
I want to use the darkness to like really lock in, refresh my routine, stay motivated, show up for myself, like all of that.
Because usually this time of year, I am not going to do anything that I don't have to do.
It is so bad.
I can't even tell you.
It happens to me every single year.
So I wrote down a couple goals that I wanted to talk about in this video.
These are just a couple things that I really want to do throughout the winter season season and that I feel like are actually doable.
So the first one is to wake up at the same time every day.
I feel like this is such a good goal because I'm finding something that actually works in my routine and I'm just practicing consistency.
I'm thinking like 7 45 AM.
I feel like that is the perfect middle ground.
It's not too early and it's not too late.
The same goes for going to bed at the same time.
I'm actually pretty good at this.
Like usually it's 11 30 PM and I'm done.
So I don't think that'll be too much of a challenge.
The next goal is to read more.
And also I don't think this will be too much of a challenge either, because I've been reading so much and I've been loving it, and I have a long list of books to read.
So that shouldn't be a problem either.
But the fourth thing is to make more time for myself.
And this one I kind of struggle with.
Because if I'm feeling stressed out or if I have things to do, I literally cannot think about anything except my to-do list.
I don't think about my meals and what I'm gonna eat.
Sometimes it's so bad, I literally won't let myself go to the bathroom until I finish a task.
I will force myself to get it done right then without taking a second to do anything else.
I'm like, let's practice some balance.
Take some time for yourself.
It's okay.
I want to keep up with my fitness, either going to the gym or going on more walks.
And the same goes for eating well.
So anyway, that's what I'm going into winter with.
I feel like those goals are really good.
They keep me stable.
They keep me grounded, but they keep me going.
I'm practicing discipline and consistency.
But I feel like today was the perfect example of what I want my winter arc to look like.
Because if I can stay consistent and motivated like this throughout the entire season, then it should be no problem for the rest of the year.
I have 10 minutes left on this face mask.
While this dries, I'm gonna read.
This book is The Power of Your Subconscious Mind.
I've been super into reading, but I really haven't touched a book like this.
I've been wanting to dive into other genres.
So I'm gonna read some of this for the next 10 minutes.
Tonight's dinner is very typical.
I love this because it has a lot of good ingredients, it's high in protein and it's really easy to make.
The main ingredient is ground beef.
I don't know what it is, but my boyfriend and i are obsessed with this and i'm making this at home chipotle bowl.
I love this because it's super customizable.
I usually use mostly lettuce and rice as like a base, and then i'll put ground beef and vegetables on top, like avocado tomatoes.
Sometimes i'll also put pinto beans, And then I always top it with lemon and croutons.
These butter and garlic croutons are so good.
And then if I really want something extra, I love putting Chick-fil-A sauce on top, or salsa, or something like that.
But this is honestly so good.
It's so easy.
I usually have most of the ingredients already in my kitchen and it always feels so good eating this.
Like I always have energy and it being high in protein is great for after the gym.
