However, the scientific community soon pushed back. A comprehensive review by the "University of Vienna’s psychology department," which analyzed "around 3000 cases across 40 studies," found no evidence to support the claims. Jacob Piecznig, the team leader, highlighted that the original 1993 study was critically flawed due to a "very small sample size of 36 students."
