But for now, let's get on with the show.
Woo!
It's WeWOW Week.
Hello and welcome to WeWOW, Hide and Seek Week.
A hands-on crash course in Fun Fun 101 for science seekers and inventoritos everywhere.
I'm Mindy.
And I'm Guy Raz.
And we're dedicating this week to one of our favorite games...
Hide and seek.
And not to brag, but I am currently the reigning hide and seek champion of all time forever.
My record is 12 and a half hours hidden under my couch.
Well, technically you fell asleep.
I heard you snoring, but I didn't want to wake you.
Pretty sure I'm just really good at hiding.
Whatever you say, Mindy.
Anywho, we've got a full week of games activated.
Activities, recipes, not to mention some of our favorite episodes of Wow in the World.
And it's shaping up to be a great week.
Sure is.
Well, should we start our first game of hide and seek?
Yep.
Oh, but first, Reggie said he wanted to play too.
Great.
Where is he?
Uh, I'm not sure exactly.
I told him you were coming over and he said he'd be ready.
Reggie?
Is that you?
Yeah, where are you, Reg?
I can hear him, but I don't see him.
Reggie, you tricky little giant pigeon.
You started the game already?
Ready or not, here I come.
Okay, well, I guess Reggie's hiding and we're it.
I'm going to find you, Reg.
And if you want to help us look for Reggie, go to Tinkercast.com slash WeWow.
And if you find Reggie, please do send us photos and videos at tinkercast.com slash share.
Man, how can a pigeon that big be so good at hiding?
I don't know, but your gingerbread mansion does have a lot of rooms.
This might take a while.
Yeah, let's put on that episode of Wow in the World while we look for it.
Hit it, Reg!
Oh, right, you're hiding.
Hit it, Guy Raz.
Okay.
Here's Wow in the World, Snoop and Seek Robot.
Proceeded.
Three, two, one.
Ignition.
Get ready for an attack. this thing on?
OK, great.
Start the music.
May I have your attention, please?
Fellow neighbors, esteemed friends.
Uh, ahem.
Oh, and Tommy.
Thank you.
Today we are gathered in Mindy's gingerbread mansion for the 35th annual Snoop and Zeke Championship Games.
Grand gesture with head.
Hosted by me, Dennis.
Points to self and holds for applause.
What?
Dennis, I don't think you were supposed to read that last part out loud.
Well, then you shouldn't have put it in the script.
And where's the applause?
Reggie!
Cue the applause!
Thank you.
Oh, thank you so much.
Now, as competitors in today's Snoop and Seek Championship, you will be challenged to search for and find something that has been hidden from you.
Uh, so we're playing hide-and-seek?
Now, it's called Snoop and Seek and it's patent pending.
Oh, my.
Reggie, increase the applause.
And the winner of today's Snoop and Seek Championship will be crowned the biggest and bestest snoop in the whole neighborhood.
Only instead of a crown, the winner will be given this beautiful sash.
Here we go.
Uh, the sash says biggest poop?
What?
Reggie!
Well, looky there, Fingerling.
It's got your name written all over it.
Yeah, but it's pronounced Po-op.
Um, Dennis, I think there might have been a typo printed on the sash.
We'll get it corrected, won't we, Reggie?
Anyway, your goal today is to try and beat me.
Dennis, you're raining champion.
What?
It ain't raining.
Oh, right.
Reggie, cue the rain.
That's not what raining champion means, Dennis.
I'm pretty sure it is, guy.
Dennis?
Oh, fine.
Reggie, you can stop the rain.
Oh.
Anybody got any soap?
Or maybe a towel?
So, Dennis, how does the competition work?
Good question.
Okay, Reggie, next music.
First, you'll break into two teams.
Then, Reggie will hide something.
And finally, you and your teammate must snoop around and find it.
So, we are playing hide and seek.
No, we're not playing hide and seek.
Yeah, it's called poop and find.
It's Snoop and Zeke.
One time I found a tadpole in a piece of cornbread.
Uh, huh.
Uh, are you going to tell us whose team we're on?
What?
Oh, right.
Yes.
Let's see.
How should we split the teams?
Oh, good idea.
We'll do it the old-fashioned way.
Everyone write their name on a slip of paper.
We'll put the paper in a hat.
We'll put the hat on a cat and the cat on a flat mat.
Then...
We'll all spin around as fast as we can.
Dennis, there are only four people in this championship.
Oh, I call G-Force.
Oh, no.
Okay, Roz.
Guess it's just you and me.
Ah, yippee.
Yay.
Okay, good.
I didn't have any paper anyway.
Reggie, now do the dark anticipation music.
Team one, G-Force and Fingerling.
Present.
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to snoop and find $1,000 in cold, hard cash.
Ooh.
Which I've hidden at the bank.
What?
Go to the bank, snoop for $1,000, stuff it into this duffel bag labeled money.
No.
And then deliver it back here to me.
Challenge accepted.
Fingerling, I'm gonna need my ski mask, a crowbar, and your getaway car.
Okie doke.
You can't challenge them to rob a bank, Dennis.
Guy, I didn't say rob.
I said snoop and find.
Yeah, Guy.
Good luck, you two.
I know you can do it.
Mindy.
What?
I'm just trying to be a good sport.
Now I'm gonna walk right into that bank.
Pretending I'm an old lady.
And then I... This is a really, really bad idea.
And what about us, Dennis?
What are Guy Raz and I supposed to find?
Team two, Guy and Mindy.
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it... We accept it.
Mindy, wait for the challenge.
...is to find me.
Uh Uh Dennis, you're right here in front of us.
That's because reggie hasn't hidden me yet.
Reggie, carry me away.
Reggie, carry me away and hide me somewhere secret and mysterious and classified and hush hush.
I need you to stick this rfid tag onto dennis's back without him knowing.
Rfid tag yeah, RFID or radio frequency identification.
It's a kind of tracking system that uses smart barcodes to identify things they're attached to.
And you want me to attach this tag to Dennis without him knowing?
Uh-huh.
And covert.
Ugh.
Isn't that cheating?
Not the plan I have in mind.
In some ways, we're making it even more challenging for ourselves.
Now, just walk over to Dennis and give him a hug.
And puzzling!
And then when you pat him on the back, stick the tag onto his shirt.
Okay?
Why do I have to hug and tag Dennis Mindy?
Because I have to kick down the walls of my gingerbread mansion.
You what?
Don't worry about it, Guy Raz.
As usual, I've got everything out of control.
And our cane.
Now, Guy Raz, go in for the hug.
Under wrap.
Oh, Dennis, our beloved Dennis.
Huh?
Oh, how we'll miss you.
Oh, Guy, I'll miss you too.
And a hug.
A Guy Raz hug?
Reggie!
Reggie!
Quick, take a picture!
Be careful out there in hiding.
I hope we can find you soon.
Oh, of course you'll find me, Guy.
We're best friends now, after all.
And I'm positive our kindred spirit shall guide you directly to me without any...
Ah, Mindy, why did you kick down a wall of your gingerbread house?
Now the whole thing is going to cave in.
Okay, everyone, quick, stand back.
You don't want to be in that room when the walls crumble and the ceiling falls out.
But what about... Mindy, God, Ross, help!
I'm buried under a mountain of crumbs and candy and, um, actually... Actually, it's okay.
It tastes pretty good.
Don't worry, Dennis.
We'll find you in that sugary rubble soon enough.
We will?
We will, Guy Raz.
And when we do, we'll become the Snoop and Zeke champions of the world!
Mindy?
Is that you laughing maniacally?
Uh, no.
Oh.
Well, hurry up and get me out of here.
Mother always says if I eat too much sugar, I won't go to bed.
Come on, Guy Raz.
Reggie, follow me out to the laboratory of bad ideas.
I've got a plan.
That's what I'm afraid of, Mindy.
After you.
Thank you.
Uh, so, Mindy, uh, about this...
Plan of yours?
Oh, yeah.
Well, you can rest easy knowing that my plan is inspired by a team of engineering and computer science researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Ah, yes.
MIT.
That's right.
And they've just come up with a prototype or early model of a new robotic system that can get this, find lost things, even when they're buried or hidden out of view.
Yes, Reg, like Dennis who is now buried under a mountain of cookie crumbs.
Oh, I think I saw something about this.
Are you talking about our fusion?
That robotic arm with a gripper at the end?
Uh-huh.
The one that uses a camera and radio frequency signals?
Like the ones used on that RFID tag you had me stick onto Dennis' back?
That's the one.
And when I first read about it I went totally bonker balls with inspiration and immediately ran out to the laboratory of bad ideas.
So I could try engineering one of my own.
Uh... Here, let me show you.
Now, I know it's around here somewhere.
Uh... Hold on.
I'll find it.
It's...
You know, Mindy, you really should consider cleaning this place up.
There are just piles of clutter everywhere.
Ah-ha!
Here it is!
Just power this puppy up here.
Greetings.
What is up, G-G-Guy Rozzy?
Ah!
I programmed to talk.
Talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk, talk talk.
Still working out some of the kinks.
What did you make that thing out of, Mindy?
It looks like one of those robot vacuum cleaners with the arm of a desk lamp attached.
And are those googly eyes?
Googly eyes require update.
Accessing Guy Razzi eyes.
What?
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme.
Stay away from my glasses, you vacuum cleaner robot!
What do you think of the tiny gripping baby hand I attached to the arm?
I think it's kind of creepy, Mindy.
I think this whole thing is creepy.
And we have Dennis in there buried in a pile of gingerbread rubble.
And at this rate, Grandma G-Force and Thomas Fingerling are going to rob a bank faster than we can find him.
And I'll never win that championship snooping sash.
Locating snooping sash.
Oh.
Not found.
So how exactly does this robot work, Mindy?
Well, I could tell you.
Yes?
But I'd rather show you.
Let me see your glasses there, Guy Raz.
How will you show me if I can't see without my glasses, Mindy?
Oh, you'll get them back soon enough.
Now, I'm going to attach a small RFID tag to your science spectacles here.
And then I'm going to bury them under a pile of clutter Just like this.
My glasses.
My iconic blue science spectacles.
Locating Guy Razzi iconic blue science spectacles.
Oh, thanks, robot.
But how?
That is a big butt.
Oh, I haven't programmed it to answer that question yet.
That is a big butt.
I see.
But I can answer it.
See?
Here's how it works, Skyroz.
Step one.
The robot zeroes in on the exact location of your glasses using a camera and radio frequency signals sent by its antenna.
Sensing.
Sensing.
And because radio frequency signals can travel through just about anything, they can locate my hidden glasses even under this pile of That's right.
The radio frequency signals should be coming into contact with the RFID tag I attached to your glasses any second now.
Signal acquired.
What is happening, Mindy?
Well, it appears that the RFID tag is now reflecting those signals back to the antenna to tell it that it has located your glasses, Guy Raz.
Wow.
Retrieval in progress.
Watch what happens next.
The robotic arm is moving the clutter out of the way.
And the tiny baby hand gripper I attached to the end of the arm is opening, reaching into the pile.
Item found.
Oh, I think it's got something.
Oh, please tell me it's got my glasses, Mindy.
Verifying item.
It's now completing its final step, making sure that it has found the thing it's been looking for.
Verification complete.
Successfully located by robot iconic science spectacles.
Boo-yeah.
Wait, your science spectacles?
Boo-yeah.
Uh-oh.
Girl, put your glasses on.
Iconic science glasses.
Give me back my glasses, you robot.
No.
Relax, Guy Raz.
We can find you a new pair.
But think about all the ways this little robot's arm could change the world, Guy Raz.
From sorting through piles in warehouses or car manufacturing plants looking for parts to helping people locate basic things in the chaos of their own homes.
Well, I guess I have wished I could get some help finding my car keys or my glasses from time to time.
My glasses.
And think how helpful it is it would be for people like Grandma G-Force or Thomas Fingerling to have an extra arm to help around the house.
And another extra arm for tickling.
Oh, no, you don't.
No time for tickling, you two.
We've got a dentist to locate and a Snoop and Zeke championship to win.
Back to the gingerbread mansion, or whatever's left of it.
But I can't see, Mindy.
Hold my robotic hand.
I will guide you.
Oh, that's really kind of you, robot.
Guide, guide, guide, guide, guide, guide, guide, guide.
Dennis?
Dennis, are you still in here?
Oh, Mindy, thank goodness you're back.
It's really dark in here.
I can't move very much.
And I think I've ruined my dinner.
And I can't stop eating all the sprinkles and buttercream frosting and gumdrops and peppermint kisses.
And I'm going to have a lot of cavities.
No, Dennis, no.
We'll save you.
And by we, I mean not me because I can't see.
Yes, Guy Razzi needs new glasses.
So I will rescue Dennis.
Mindy?
You sound different.
It's not me, Dennis.
It's my Snoop and Seek robot.
We decided the best way to win this championship was to bring in a little help from science.
You named your robot science?
Just hold tight, Dennis, and allow this thing to do its thing.
What?
OK, Snoop and Seek robot.
It's time to get to work.
Okay, it looks like it's zeroing in on the exact location of Dennis.
Sensing.
Sensing.
Clearing.
It's moving all the sweet candy rubble that's in its way.
Clearing.
Ah!
Something touched me!
Item found.
Look!
It was!
It's crossed onto something!
Could it be?
Verifying item.
Pulling something out?
Verification complete.
Successfully located, Dennis.
Boo-yeah.
Dennis!
Oh, science!
You saved my life!
What could I ever do to repay you?
Sash.
I'm sorry, what?
Give me the sassy sash.
Oh, but the sash goes to the winner of the snooping championship.
Science the Robot, successfully located, Dennis.
I require the sash.
Well, technically I made this robot, so if the sash is going to go to anyone, it really should be me.
I'm just... Relinquish the sash.
But, you know what?
It would look better on you, robot.
Yay.
Okay, here you go.
Nice.
Girl, put your sashie on.
The sash that's big as poop.
Sassy, sashy, brashy, cashy.
Did somebody say cash?
Grandma G-Force, Thomas Fingerling, you're back.
Did you two find the $1,000?
Well, why don't you tell me, boy?
$1,000.
Well, what in the Well?
I was a little skeptical about finding doll hairs at the bank, but a nice young child treated me their baby doll for my crowbar and ski mask.
It was a pretty good deal.
Oh, now give me the sash.
Well, I'm sorry you're too late.
Because the winner of this year's Snoop and Seek Championship Games is... Science!
Boo-yeah.
What?
That robot?
I am biggest poop.
Well, baskets.
But I will trade the championship snooping sash for 1,000 doll hairs.
Boy, you got yourself a deal.
Aw, cute.
Oh, wow, that was very nice of you, Science.
Woo-hoo!
Woo-hoo!
Booyah.
