It's imagination time with Katie. Hi friends.
We hope you enjoy this special episode of Super Simple Imagination Time.
Inspired by the Super Simple song, we're going to the pumpkin patch.
The leaves are changing, the air is getting cooler.
And that means it's almost time for Halloween.
Here we go. Hello, it's good to be with you my friend I'm glad we're together again We got Zach on the keeps Katie singing La-la-la-la-la-la We'll have some fun in our imagination Go on adventures again and again It's good to be with you, my friend.
Hi. I'm glad you're here today. I'm Katie, and this is Zach.
Hello, hello. Zach is playing the piano.
And we are in for a special treat today.
We are going to go on an imagination adventure to a pumpkin patch.
A pumpkin patch is usually a big field of pumpkins on a farm.
It's a great place to pick out a pumpkin for a jack-o-lantern around Halloween time.
I'm very excited. But before we get started, let's take a moment to calm our bodies and our minds.
Then we'll be ready to explore the pumpkin patch in our imaginations.
Let's take a deep breath all together. In one, two, three, hold it.
Out three, two, one. Let's listen to the sounds around us.
Do you hear Zach playing the piano? I can hear it.
Let's give our fingers a little wiggle and give a little wiggle to our toes.
And notice how your body feels from your head all the way down to the tips of your toes.
Is it ready for an imagination adventure?
Let's take one more deep breath. In one, two, three, hold it.
I definitely feel ready for an imagination adventure.
Let's go to the pumpkin patch. We're going to the pumpkin patch Looking for a pumpkin We're going to the pumpkin patch To make a jack-o-lantern Let's imagine a big field in autumn.
The sun is warm on our skin. But the air has a chill as it blows past you.
The sky is blue with fluffy white clouds.
It's a beautiful fall day. The leaves on the trees around the field are different shades of red and orange, yellow and brown.
Can you see them in your mind? They move in the breeze and then fly off the branches, floating gently down to the ground.
I imagine there are lots of leaves on the ground.
Also on the ground are pumpkins. bright orange pumpkins fill the field.
Big ones and small ones. I can see them all over in my imagination.
Looks like there's hundreds of them. And somewhere in that big field of pumpkins is the pumpkin that will take home for our Halloween jack-o-lantern.
I wonder which one it'll be. Let's go walk into the field and find out.
Wow, there are so many pumpkins all around us.
It might be hard to choose. Let's look around the pumpkin patch in our minds and see if we can find the one for us.
Look around, look around Look around and see what can be found What do you see?
Let's take a closer look at this pumpkin right here.
I imagine it's medium-sized with lots of interesting bumps on it.
The skin of the pumpkin feels bumpy against my hands.
This would make an interesting jack-o-lantern with built-in bumps.
I think we should keep looking. Okay, let's take another look around the pumpkin patch.
Look around Look around Look around Ooh, there's one that looks super cute.
We can go over and see. Ah, this one looks perfectly around.
Very smooth. And small enough to fit in our hand.
Put a nice little pumpkin. It might be too small for a jack-o-lantern though.
Hmm. I know the right pumpkin is somewhere in this field.
Let's look around one more time. We can find it.
Look around. Look around and see what can be found.
Do you see the perfect pumpkin? I think I see one way over there.
Let's go over and take a closer look. Wow, I imagine this pumpkin is tall and wide.
It's bright orange with a big stem on top.
This pumpkin would make a great jack-o-lantern.
It's nice and big for a big jack-o-lantern face.
I think this is it. I like it a lot. Nice work, we found our pumpkin.
Now let's take it back home to carve. We can lift it up by the stem.
Hold on tight. And lift. Uh-oh. The pumpkin is heavy.
I can't lift it up. Let's try picking it up another way.
When you wanna give up, try again Keep on trying, keep on trying This time, let's bend our knees and pick it up from the bottom.
That's an easier way to lift something really heavy.
Here we go! Get underneath it! And let's lift!
I'm lifting it up! I got it! But! Ugh! Wow.
I can't carry it for long. This pumpkin might be too heavy.
What are we gonna do? Our pumpkin can't be a jack-o-lantern if we can't get it out of the pumpkin patch.
Is there another way we can move it? I'm thinking of thought I'm thinking a lot We need an idea Let's work with what we've got What about... Oh!
A wagon! If we work together and lift the pumpkin into a wagon, we can pull it out of the pumpkin patch.
That's it. Let's imagine a wagon. right here next to our pumpkin.
Big enough for our big pumpkin with four wheels and a long handle.
Now let's lift the pumpkin into the wagon all together.
Ready? Lift up into the wagon. We did it!
Are you ready to go for a ride, pumpkin?
Let's go! We're walking through the pumpkin patch With our perfect pumpkin We're walking through the pumpkin patch To make our jackal lantern Now it's time to carve our pumpkin and make a jack-o-lantern.
Let's get all the things we need! Getting ready, ready, ready Getting ready, ready, ready Getting ready, ready, ready To carve Let's put down a tablecloth get a big bull and a big spoon for scooping and something to carve with.
Now, we're ready, ready, ready, we're ready, ready, ready to carve our pumpkin.
We'll make an opening around the pumpkin stem.
And we'll scoop out the insides, making it nice and clean on all sides.
Make a big scoop and plop it in the bowl.
For the insides of the pumpkin are cold and squishy.
Can you imagine what it feels like in your hands?
Squishy. Well, now we can make our jack-o-lanterns face.
What kind of face should we make? We could make a happy face or a spooky face. or a silly face.
You can make your pumpkin into anything you can imagine.
It can be anything when you're imagining anything it can be Imagine with me.
I'm going to imagine a happy face on my pumpkin.
I'm gonna imagine a silly face. That's fun.
What kind of face will you make, friends?
Let's imagine the faces of our jack-o-lanterns glowing bright.
Can you see them shining bright in your mind?
They can light up the night. Jack O'Lantern shining bright, shining bright, shining bright Jack-o-lantern shining bright This is our Jack-o-lantern Our big pumpkin is now a beautiful jack-o-lantern.
And it will be shining bright on Halloween to welcome all the trick-or-treaters.
I'm so glad we picked this pumpkin together at the pumpkin patch.
We went to the pumpkin patch and we found a pumpkin We went to the pumpkin patch and made a jackal anter This has been a really fun imagination adventure.
