It's imagination time with Katie. Hello, friends.
Welcome to Super Simple's Imagination Time with Katie.
This episode is inspired by the Super Simple song, Walking in the Jungle. and you guessed it, today we'll be taking a walk in the wild jungle in our imaginations.
I'm not afraid. Let's go! It's good to be with you my friend.
I'm glad we're together again We got Zach on the keys Katie singing.
La la la la la. We'll have some fun in our imagination.
Go on adventures again and again. Hello.
Hello? It's good to be with you, my friend!
Hello, hello! you're listening to imagination time.
I'm Katie, and Zach is here playing the piano.
Hello, hello. I imagine it feels really hot in here.
Can you imagine it feels really, really hot?
It's way too hot today It's way too hot Hot and humid.
Humid means there's a lot of water vapor in the air.
So the air feels thick. and sticky and hot.
I imagine that's how it must feel in the jungle.
A jungle is a thick, tropical forest filled with interesting plants, tall trees, and lots of animals.
It's an exciting place to imagine. But it also makes me feel a little nervous.
There may be all sorts of surprises hiding in the jungle.
I'm not afraid. Well... We are always safe in our imaginations.
So today, why don't we pretend to take a walk through the jungle in our minds? if we're going to fit the whole jungle in our minds for our imagination adventure.
We better take a few moments to clear our heads and take some deep breaths before we start this walk together.
Are you ready, Zach? Ready, Katie? Are you ready, friends?
Let's take a deep breath all together. In one, two, three, hold it Out three, two, one Let's imagine the sounds we might hear on a walk in the jungle.
Maybe we'd hear birds in the distance, singing and calling to each other.
Maybe we'd hear the rustling of leaves high above our heads as animals move through the branches.
Can you hear the sounds of the jungle in your imagination?
I imagine I can feel the hot air. It feels so hot.
I imagine I can feel a drop of sweat rolling from the top of my head down my back. and plop down on the ground by my toes.
Whew! Let's take one more deep breath to help cool us off.
In one, two, three, hold it Out three, two, one Let's take a walk in the jungle.
Walking in the jungle, walking in the jungle We're not afraid We're not afraid Walking in the jungle Walking in the jungle We're not afraid We're not afraid Hmm.
Sometimes I do feel a bit afraid when I go to a new place.
Have you ever felt that way before? The jungle is a place that is so different from where I live.
I'm excited to visit in our imaginations, but also a bit nervous about what we might find.
It's okay to feel nervous, Katie. Thanks, Zach.
I know I'm always safe in my imagination, but still.
I think I'll feel better if we take a moment to make sure we're properly prepared for our jungle adventure.
Whenever I go on an adventure somewhere new, I like to make sure I have everything I might need.
Depending on where I'm going, I might change what clothes I wear, or what snacks I bring, or the things I put into my backpack.
What do we need for an imaginary jungle adventure?
Let's imagine getting ready, and we'll see.
Getting ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready to go I'm going to bring a big hat and I'll wear my hiking boots to keep my feet safe and comfortable on our walk through this new place.
Oh! And we should bring binoculars. When you look through binoculars, it makes things that are far away look close.
That will help us explore all the new things we might see.
And we should pack a big water bottle. That's a good idea for any walk, whether it's a new place or somewhere familiar.
Now... I think we're... We're ready, ready, ready We're ready, ready, ready To walk in the jungle Let's step into the jungle in our minds.
I imagine the jungle is so beautiful. Everything is so green and the trees are so tall.
I even imagine I see some plants that I've never seen before.
All different colors and shapes. There are some plants that only grow in the jungle.
And scientists say that there are many jungle plants that haven't even been discovered.
No one has ever seen them. So we really have to use our imaginations to imagine what they look like.
We can imagine what they smell like, too.
I imagine the flowers in the jungle smell beautiful.
Let's walk a little further. Walking in the jungle, walking in the jungle We're not afraid, we're not afraid Walking in the jungle, walking in the jungle We're not afraid.
We're not afraid. One step, two steps, three steps forward.
One step, two steps, three steps back. Let's listen to the sounds we hear.
Oh! What's that sound? It sounds like a bird.
It does sound like a bird. I wonder where it is.
I know. Let's imagine looking through our binoculars.
Maybe we can spot it. Look around Look around Look around And see what can be found I see it I imagine it's high up on a branch of a tree with thick green vines hanging down.
The bird looks like a toucan. Tucans are a type of bird that live in the jungle.
They are very colorful. I imagine it has a long orange beak and it's very beautiful.
Hello, Toucan. I imagine I hear another sound.
This one doesn't sound like an animal though.
Let's take a closer look Walking in the jungle, walking in the jungle We're not afraid, we're not afraid It is water.
It's a waterfall. I imagine I see a beautiful waterfall running down big rocks into a calm pool of water.
It's so peaceful here. I imagine butterflies fluttering around the flowers. and even a rainbow in the water splashing off the rocks.
I see red. Orange. Yellow, green. I see blue and indigo.
I see violet, the colors of the rainbow.
Can you see it in your mind? The jungle is full of beautiful surprises.
Oh, what was that? More surprises from the jungle.
I imagine there's a bunch of bugs buzzing around.
I see a bug buzzing, buzzing I see a bug buzzing all around Ribbit, ribbit.
Ribbit, ribbit. Did you hear that? Yeah.
I think I know that sound. Let's listen.
Ribbit, ribbit. Yep, that's a frog. Frogs love to eat bugs.
So I'm sure they're very happy living here by the waterfall in the buggy jungle.
But where are they? Let's imagine taking a look through our binoculars, and we'll see if we can spot them.
Look around and see what can be found I see the frogs.
I imagine I see a bunch of happy frogs all sitting on a log.
Five little speckled frogs Sat on a speckled log Eating the most delicious bugs Yum yum Hello little frogs!
What an amazing place the jungle is. I'm really glad we came to the jungle in our imaginations.
It's fun to explore new places after all.
What was that sound? I don't think I like the sounds of that.
I have no idea what it could be. Uh oh. I imagine my palms are starting to go all sweaty.
I'm starting to feel very nervous. When I'm feeling big feelings I stop and see How the big feelings are feeling I think I'm so nervous about that sound because I can't tell where it's coming from or What's making it?
If I knew that, I imagine it would make me feel better.
Maybe we should take a few steps towards the sound.
Very carefully. Walking in the jungle Walking in the jungle We're not afraid We're not afraid It's okay to be afraid sometimes, but I know I'm always safe in my imagination.
So I'm gonna try and be brave. Let's use the binoculars.
Smart ideas, Zach. That way we can look for what is making the sound without going any closer.
Let's imagine hiding behind a big jungle leaf and we'll poke our binoculars out to look around.
It will take courage, but we can do it. Look around and see what can be found Do you see anything?
Oh, I imagine I see something. A pie in the trees.
Something moving through the green leaves.
What is that? Oh, I think it's a monkey!
Wow! A whole family of monkeys! They were the animals making all that noise.
Now I know where the sound is coming from.
So it isn't so scary anymore. I imagine the monkeys are playing as they make their sounds.
Swinging and hanging from the jungle branches.
Can you see the monkeys in your mind? It's so fun to imagine them playing among the trees.
I feel really proud of how brave we were. and the courage we used to explore somewhere new.
Now that I know the jungle a bit better, I don't feel nervous at all.
Walking in the jungle, walking in the jungle We're not afraid, we're not afraid Walking in the jungle, walking in the jungle We're not afraid.
We're not afraid. That was a very exciting walk in the jungle.
