But for now, let's get on with the show.
Woo!
Come out, come out, wherever you are.
Hey, Mindy.
I grabbed the whistle and came as fast as I... Whoa, what are you doing way down there in the dirt?
Oh, hey, Guy Razzi.
I'm looking for bugs.
Thinking of starting a new zoo-zoom show called Bugs.
Do Say, Squirt and Squeak the Most Peculiar Things.
And you're out here looking for guests?
Bugs to interview?
Oh, yeah.
I'm hoping to find a stonefly who I can ask about its push-up routine.
Or maybe a great diving beetle who can tell me about how it breathes through its butt.
Or maybe a queen bee who can explain how she makes that quacking sound.
Exactly.
But this is all going to have to wait, Mindy, because we've got a game show to do.
Oh, that's right.
Pause the pew pies.
Fire up the fireflies.
And prepare for takeoff.
And now for everyone's second favorite game show, after kissing your fingers like you're a chef.
It's Two What's and a What of Two What's and a Wow.
Two What's and a Wow.
The scientific game show that separates the wows from the what's.
And the category for today is bugs.
Mindy, why don't you refresh our contestants on how the game works?
You know it.
Wowzers, we are going to present you with three scientific statements about bugs.
But and this is a big one of those statements will be a true wow.
The other two just a couple of made up what.
Okay, let's get started.
Which of the following statements about bugs is the true scientific wow?
Is it a wasps sometimes explode to protect their colony.
Or is it b?
Crickets knees sometimes smell like food.
Or is it C?
Mosquitoes pee on you while they suck your blood.
Okay Wowzers, when you think you've got the correct answer, chirp it out like a cricket to the person next to you.
We're going to take a quick break and when we come back we'll find out if your wow is the winning wow.
To What's in a Wow, we'll be right back.

That's it.
Nope.
OK, Wowzers, time's up.
It's time to reveal the winning wow.
But before we do, let's do a quick review.
We gave you three scientific statements about bugs and challenged you to guess which one was the one.
True, wow.
Was it A, wasps sometimes explode to protect their colony?
Or was it B, crickets' knees sometimes smell like food?
Or was it C, mosquitoes pee on you while they suck your blood?
And to answer today's question, joining us by phone, it's Willa from San Diego, California.
Willa, what's the wow?
I'm Willa from San Diego.
My wow in my world is that mosquitoes pee on you while they suck your blood.
P.S.
I'm a member of the Wowzers.
Winner, winner, chocolate-covered grasshoppers for dinner.
Willa, that is correct.
Contestants.
If you guessed the answer C that mosquitoes usually pee on you while they suck your blood you found the winning wow.
Congratulations.
Bug.
Scientists, known as entomologists, found that when mosquitoes are sucking your blood, let out a little pee to make room for the nutrients they're getting from us.
And if you guessed A or B, you weren't too far off.
While wasps have amazing tools to protect themselves, it's actually some ants that explode to protect their colony.
And if you chose B, crickets' knees may have an odor, but it's ladybugs that shoot an odor from their knees, an odor that smells like nuts, green peppers and potatoes.
Now, Roz, why don't you tell our winning wowzers what they've won?
Well Mindy, all of our winning contestants today will be taking home their very own invisible bodybuilding caterpillar.
Who couldn't use a six-legged bodyguard?
The human body has up to 840 skeletal muscles, but the caterpillar has...
4,000 to help push their long bodies along.
Well, congratulations to all of our winning Wowzers once again.
That's just about all the time we have for today.
But before we go, we have a little scientific challenge for you.
We call it Operation Bug Hunter.
Go outside and see how many different kinds of bugs you can find.
They might be flying around or munching on plants or crawling up from the ground.
Take notes or sketch pictures of what you find, taking careful note of the little details like wings, eyes and, of course, knees.
Then you can get a friend or family member to help you identify them.
And don't forget to take a photo or a video.
Grownups, you can upload pictures and videos to us at tinkercast.com slash share.
Well, that's all the time we have for today.
Until next time, keep on wowing!
