It's going to be a November to remember.
But for now, let's get on with the show.
Woo this in here and I'm just gonna fit these two parts together.
And Mindy, I was trying to nap, but I can hear the banging from all the way across the Whoa.
What is all this?
Oh, hey, Guy Raz.
You're just in time.
I'm working on a rocket ship to get us all revved up and fly us into space!
Space?
Oh, yeah.
Something really out of this world is happening up there today, and we don't want to miss it.
Here, pass me that hammer.
Oh, no.
Come on.
Come on.
I'm afraid to ask, but what exactly is happening in space that we don't want to miss?
Guy Raz, we are going to get an up-close and personal look at a meteor shower.
Oh.
A meteor shower?
Like shooting stars?
Shooting stars and all the wishes you want.
Now, if I can just get this rocket ship to turn on, there are no time.
Mindy?
I'm not so sure a rocket ship made from cardboard is going to be able to hold up on a flight to space.
Okay, well, first of all, Guy Razzi, it's corrugated cardboard.
And second of all, I've learned that if you chew the gum first, it has a better chance of holding your rocket ship together.
Well, maybe it's better if we just start the game show?
Oh, yeah, the game show.
Uh, uh, batten the hatches!
Hoist the flag!
And get ready to blast off in three, two, one!
And now for everyone's second favorite game show after your first favorite game show.
It's Two What's and a What.
For another far out round of Two What's and a Wow.
Two What's and a Wow.
The scientific game show that separates the wows from the what's, and the category for today is space.
Mindy, why don't you refresh our contestants on how the game works?
You know it.
Wowzers, we are going to present you with three scientific statements about space.
But, and this is a big but, But only one of those statements will be a true wow.
The other two, just a couple of made up what?
Okay, let's get started.
Which of the following statements about space is the true scientific wow?
Is it A, the moon is shaped like a basketball?
Or is it B, it would only take one hour to drive us into space...
With a car.
Or is it C?
Astronauts usually shrink one to three inches in space.
Okay Wowzers, when you think you have the right answer, shout it into the wind and let it go into the atmosphere.
And we're going to take a quick snack break to give you the space to think.
And when we come back, we'll find out if your wow is the winning wow.
Two What's and a Wow will be right back.
Grownups, this message is for you.

Okay, Wowzers, time is up.
It's time to reveal the winning wow.
But before we do, let's do a quick review.
We gave you three scientific statements about space and challenged you to guess which one was the one true, wow.
Was it A, the moon is shaped like a basketball?
Or was it B, it would only take one hour to drive us into space with a car?
Or was it C, astronauts usually shrink one to three inches in space?
And to answer today's question, joining us by phone, it's Nicole from Irvine, California.
Nicole, what's the wow?
My wow is that it only takes one hour to drive us into space with a car.
Winner, winner, please drive astronaut ice cream for dinner.
Nicole, that is correct.
Contestants.
If you guessed the answer B, that it would only take one hour to drive into space with a car, you found the winning wow.
Congratulations, wowzers.
In 1979, astronomer Fred Hoyle said, space isn't remote at all.
It's only an hour's drive away if your car could go straight upwards.
Astronomers think that outer space begins roughly 62 miles above the Earth's surface.
So if we were driving at 60 miles per hour, we would reach space in about an hour.
And if you guessed A or C, you weren't too far off.
The moon is shaped like a ball, just not the ball you thought.
And to our eyes from far away, the moon appears perfectly round like a basketball.
But if you were to get a full view up close, you'd see that it's actually shaped more like a football.
And if you chose C, it turns out that astronauts actually get taller in space because their spines are able to stretch a little in microgravity.
Ooh.
Why don't you tell our winning Wowzers what they've won?
Well Mindy, today all of our winning contestants will be taking home their very own invisible bag of space potatoes.
These space spuds were first grown by astronauts aboard the space shuttle Columbia all the way back in 1995.
Wow, that's some serious astro culture.
You got that right.
Congratulations to all of our winning Wowzers.
That's just about all the time we have for today, but before we go we have a little scientific challenge for you.
We call it Operation Planet Blaster.
Time for some serious space exploration with your very own cardboard rocket ship.
You'll need some cardboard from the recycling bin, some tape to hold your rocket ship together and some untamed imagination.
And be sure to grab a grown-up if you'll be doing any cardboard cutting for your creation.
And once you finish your cardboard rocket ship, snap a photo or a video before you blast off.
Grown-ups, you can upload pictures and videos to us at tinkercast.com slash share.
Well, that's all the time we have for today.
Until next time, keep on wowing!
