That's it.
It's going to be a November to remember.
But for now, let's get on with the show.
Woo!
Guy Raz, can I borrow you for a second?
Sure, Mindy.
What do you need?
Um, well, I need you to be my guinea pig.
Okay, just as long as I don't have to wear a guinea pig costume like I did last time.
Ah, fine.
Here, let me just put the guinea pig costume back in the closet real quick.
Phew.
Okay, and follow me this way, Guy Raz.
Mindy, what is this all about?
Oh, well, I've been doing some research with the backstage elevator.
Experimenting with an elevator?
Mindy, are you sure this is safe?
Yes, of course I'm not sure this is safe, Guy Raz.
Oh, it's here.
What in the Mindy is that?
A disco ball and a dance floor and Grandma G-Force and a karaoke machine.
Uh-uh.
Wow, that was the fastest elevator ride I think I've ever been on.
Did you work on the cables or replace the motor?
Nope and nope.
Well, then how did it go so fast?
Well, that was my experiment.
It turns out that elevator rides can just feel long because we get bored standing and staring at the wall.
But when you add some fun distractions like a disco ball and lights and Grandma G-Force well, It makes the time feel faster.
I get it now.
Oh, good.
Mindy and Guy are here.
Places, everyone.
Places.
You there.
Bake the powder.
And you.
French the Fries, and Reggie.
Grass all the hoppers.
We're on in three, two, one.
And now for everyone's favorite game show.
It's Two What's and a What, the scientific game show that separates the wows from the whats.
And the category for today is scientific experiments.
Mindy, why don't you refresh our contestants on how the game works?
You know it.
Wowzers in each of our three rounds.
Today, Guy Raz and I will present you with three scientific statements about experiments.
This is a big but.
Only one of those statements will be a true wow.
The other two, just a couple of made up what?
In each round, if you guess correctly, congratulations, you get a point.
But if you guess incorrectly, you must stop, drop, and do a redonkulous physical challenge.
Okay, everyone ready to start the game?
Great, let's do it.
Round one.
Which of the following statements is a true scientific wow?
Is it A, scientists have discovered a way to unboil eggs?
Or is it B the Guinness World Record holder for the longest science experiment took place in Antarctica?
Or is it C, scientists have found a way to teach penguins to compute mathematical equations?
When you think you have the correct answer, howl like an owl.
Reggie, cue the thinking music.
And time is up.
Let's reveal the winning wow.
And to do just that, joining us by phone, it's Elena from Canada.
Elena, please reveal the winning wow.
Hi, Mindy and Guy Ross.
My wow in the world is that scientists have figured out how to unboil an egg.
Winner, winner, beakers for dinner.
Thank you, Elena.
Contestants.
If you guessed the answer A that scientists have discovered a way to unboil eggs you found the winning wow.
Congratulations.
Congratulations.
And that's no yolk.
In 2015, chemists discovered urea, an organic compound that can liquefy boiled egg whites.
And can put the eggs into a vortex that untangles the proteins, bringing them back to their original state.
Aw, like a little protein reunion.
Now, if you did not get the answer correct, you must stop now and do your best impression of a whoopee cushion.
Okay, time for round two.
Which of the following statements is a true scientific wow?
Is it A, scientists invented Jell-O while working on an experiment with gelatin?
Or is it B?
A Michigan university once bought 6000 rolls of toilet paper for a psychology experiment.
Or is it C, scientists have discovered how to turn urine into bricks?
When you think you have the correct answer, try to tickle yourself.
Oh, and spoiler alert, it's really hard.
Hey, Reg, the thinking music.
Time to reveal the winning wow.
Let's hear from Reagan in California.
Reagan, what's the winning wow?
Hi, Mindy and Guy Raz.
My wow in the world is that scientists have recently discovered how to make urine into bricks.
Winner, winner, graduated cylinders for dinner.
Thank you, Reagan.
Contestants, if you guessed the answer C, that scientists have discovered how to turn urine into bricks.
Well congratulations, you found the winning well.
Students at the University of Cape Town in South Africa combined urine or pee with sand and bacteria to make eco-friendly bricks.
These bricks can solidify at room temperature.
Other bricks need to be baked at high temperatures, which can produce high amounts of carbon dioxide.
Saving the Earth one.
Now, if you did not get the answer correct, you must stop, drop and bark the song Tinkle Tinkle Little Star.
Uh, shouldn't it be Twinkle Twinkle?
Oh, wait.
Never mind.
And now for the final round.
Round three, which of the following statements is a true scientific wow?
Is it, A, a group of sweet tooth dentists created the world's largest marshmallow.
Or is it B, scientists are trying to bring back wooly mammoths using DNA.
Or is it C?
Scientists at the University of Wisconsin created the world's largest pizza and ate it too.
When you think you have the answer, Give yourself a big old hug.
And we'll reveal the winning answer right after the break.
To What's in a Wow, we'll be right back.

Now back to the show.
Welcome back to Two What's and a Wow.
Two What's and a Wow.
The scientific game show that separates the wows from the what's.
Now before the break, we left you with a dangling question for round three.
The question was, which of the following statements is a true wow about science?
We've given you time to decide on the correct answer.
And to reveal that winning wow, please welcome by phone Eitan from Jerusalem.
Eitan, tell us, what's the winning wow?
Hey, Mindy.
Hey, Guy Raz.
My wow in the world is that scientists are trying to bring back woolly mammoths using DNA samples.
Contestants if you guessed the answer B that some scientists are trying to bring back the woolly mammoth using DNA well, you found the winning, wow.
Congratulations.
That's right, Guy Raz.
There is a biotech company working on de-extinction for the woolly mammoth.
Unbelievable.
Now, if you did not get the answer correct, you must stop, drop, and guess correctly.
I'm thinking of.
I'll give you a hint.
It's between one and 583,000.
That really narrows it down.
What was that?
Oh, Guy Raz, that sound can mean only one thing.
Someone's at the door?
No, it's time for today's Bunker Balls Bonus Round.
And the question for this round is, if a breadstick could move, how would it move?
That's an interesting question.
Maybe it would hop around like a pogo stick?
Well, sure, but it would only hop from west to yeast.
Oh, boy.
Well, congratulations to all of our winning wowsers on today's show.
Mindy, what's today's prize?
Oh, Guy Raz, all of our contestants today will be taking home their very own Pasta pillows!
Pasta pillows?
Yeah, you know, those little cheese stuffed pastas that look like a little tiny pillow?
You mean ravioli?
Huh, well, if you say ravioli, I say pasta pillows.
Reggie, cue the prize cannon!
No!
Hooray!
Pasta pillows for everyone!
Woohoo!
Well, that's Just about all the time we have for today.
But before we go, we have a little scientific challenge for you.
We call it Operation Egg Bounce.
We challenge you to try out this classic science experiment that makes a hard-boiled egg bounce.
And all you'll need is a hard-boiled egg and a glass of vinegar supplied by a grownup.
Ask your grownup to leave the egg in a glass of vinegar for a day and then rinse off the egg with water.
You should notice that the egg has changed consistencies and feels, well, kind of rubbery.
And don't forget to take a photo or video.
Grown-ups, you can upload pictures and videos to us at Tinkercast.com slash share.
And be sure to come back on Monday for a brand new episode of Wow in the World and again on Friday for a new episode of Two What's and a Wow.
