Woo!
Here, a little more off the top.
Hey, Mindy.
What's going on here in the hair and makeup room?
Hey, Guy Raz.
I'm just giving Reggie a little haircut before the show.
Gotta get him ready for the spotlight.
Isn't that right, you little superstar?
But does Reggie even have hair?
Technically, no.
But this is showbiz, Guy Raz.
Just pop a little wig on him and style it however you want.
I call this one the coup cut.
And here's a wig with pigtails.
Oh, I'm sorry, pigeon tails.
And of course, the feathered flip.
Wow, very 70s.
Hmm, I actually haven't seen your Crowhawk wig, Reg.
It's got to be around here somewhere.
Oh, there you all are.
What are you doing?
We're starting the show.
Reggie, what have you done to your hair?
Ah!
I said the green spikes are for the weekend.
This show is all business.
Reggie, put your business curls on and get out here.
It's time to start the show.
To there.
Dip the sticks.
And you, file the folders.
And Reggie, hit the bulls.
We're on in three, two, one.
And now for everyone's favorite game show.
It's Two What's And the world, a scientific game show that separates the wows from the what's.
And the category or theme for today is hair.
Mindy, why don't you refresh our contestants on how the game works?
You know it.
Wowzers in each of our three rounds.
Today, Guy Raz and I will present you with three scientific statements about hair.
But, and this is a big but, only one of those statements will be a true wow.
The other two, just a couple of made up what's.
Now, in each round, if you guess correctly, congratulations, you win a point.
But if you guess incorrectly, you must stop, drop, and do a redonkulous physical challenge.
Okay, everyone ready to start the game?
Great, then let's do it.
Round one.
Which of the following statements is a true scientific wow?
Is it A, the average human loses 100 hairs a day?
Or is it B, your hair grows about 10 inches per year?
Or is it C, your hair and your teeth are made up of the same exact thing?
When you think you have the correct answer, yell, I'm in hair-a-dice!
Psst, Reg, we need the thinking music.
Time is up.
Let's now reveal the winning wow.
And to do just that, it's Colin from Arkansas.
Colin from Arkansas, tell us, what's the winning wow?
My wow in the world is that the average human loses about 100 hairs a day.
Winner, winner, hair for dinner.
Thank you, Colin.
Contestants.
If you guess the answer A, that the average human loses 100 hairs a day well, congratulations.
You found the winning wow.
Each of your hairs goes through a little life cycle.
It grows, hangs out on your head for a while, and then falls out.
And on average, humans lose about 50 to 100 hairs every day.
Now, that might sound like a lot, but the average person has over 100,000 hairs on their head.
So losing 50 here or 100 there isn't all that noticeable.
Now, if you did not get the answer correct, you must stop, drop and brush your hair with an invisible salad fork.
Okay, round two.
Which of the following statements is a true scientific wow?
Is it A, chinchillas can grow more than 50 hairs from one hair follicle?
Or is it B?
There is a species of snake with hair.
Or is it C?
Hair and fur are not the same thing.
When you think you have the correct answer, yell, I use tuna casserole scented shampoo!
Hey, Reggie, cue the thinking music.
And time is up.
Joining us by phone, it's Felix from North Carolina.
Felix, please reveal the winning wow.
My wow in the world is that chinchillas can grow more than 50 hairs from one single hair follicle.
Winner, winner, chinchilli fries for dinner.
That's right, Felix.
Wowzers, if you guessed A that chinchillas can grow more than 50 hairs 50 hairs from one hair follicle well congratulations, you found the winning wow.
Chinchillas, aka those cute little rodents who like to take dust baths, have incredibly soft and dense fur.
This is in part because of how many hairs grow out of each one of a chinchilla's follicles.
Follicles are tiny sacs that cover hair roots in mammals.
Humans usually only have one hair per follicle, but chinchillas have about 50.
That means that chinchillas can fit more hairs on their body, about 20,000 hairs per square inch.
Now, if you did not get that answer correct, you must stop, drop, and roll around in the dust.
Okay, round three.
Which of the following statements is a true scientific wow?
Is it A, longhorn beetles have poisonous hairs on their legs?
Or is it B, soapstone can grow tiny hairs made of minerals?
Or is it C, Venus flytraps have special hairs that cause them to snap and get bugs?
Now, before we reveal the winning wow, let's take a moment to thank Things that you probably shouldn't put in your hair.
Choose from a variety of options like nacho cheese, finger paint, foot powder, confetti and even live worms.
Things you can put in your hair but shouldn't Technically possible, functionally inadvisable.
Can I just reiterate that you shouldn't put any of those things in your hair, right, Mindy?
Yeah, totally, Guy Raz.
Hey, want to try some hair nachos?
The top of my head makes a great chip and dip.
Let's take a quick break and hear some messages for grown-ups.
To what's in allow, we'll be right back.

Now back to the show.
Welcome back to Two What's and a Wow.
Two What's and a Wow.
The scientific game show that separates the wows from the what's.
Well, thankfully Mindy washed all that cheese out of her hair and it's time to answer that dangling question for round three.
And that question was, which of the following statements is a true scientific wow?
Is it, Longhorn beetles have poisonous hairs on their legs.
Or is it B, soapstone can grow tiny hairs made of minerals?
Or is it C, Venus flytraps have special hairs that cause them to snap and get bugs?
And joining us by phone to tell us the answer, it's Hunter from Virginia.
Hunter, please reveal the winning wow.
My wow in the world is that Venus flytraps that cause them to snap and get bugs.
Winner, winner, flies for dinner.
Thank you, Hunter.
Contestants, if you guessed the answer C, that Venus flytraps have special hairs that cause them to snap and get bugs well congratulations, you found the winning wow.
Venus flytraps are carnivorous or meat-eating plants that hunt insects and spiders.
But unlike most other hunters, they can't see, hear, or smell their prey.
That's why they have tiny hairs on their mouth-like leaves to help them feel their next meal.
If a bug bumps up against these hairs, the Venus flytrap gets the message to close its jaws and trap it.
Now, if you did not get that answer correct, you must stop drop and eat an invisible bug for lunch.
That sound can mean only one thing.
It's time for today's Bunker Balls bonus round.
And the question for this round is, where are we going?
Like, what is the meaning of life?
No, I mean, like, where are we going after the show?
Like, how about space or the center of the Earth?
Or maybe there's, like, a really cool cave with thousands of bats in it.
I think I'd like to check something like that out.
Well, I was just going to go home.
Great.
I'll go to your home, too, Guy Raz. and then we can figure it out from there.
Well, congratulations to all our winning Wowzers.
Mindy, what's today's prize?
Guy Raz, today's winning Wowzers will all be receiving their very own cup of fermented milk.
Fermented milk?
Why are you giving that away, Mindy?
Because it's full of calcium and probiotics.
Plus, you can put fruit and granola on it and make it a parfait.
Oh, you mean yogurt.
Yo got it.
Reg, cue the prize cannon.
Yay, fermented milk for everyone.
Vanilla, strawberry, beans, all the flavors.
Well, that's all the time we have for today.
But be sure to come back on Monday for a brand new episode of Wow in the World.
