Isn't it exciting?
The Creature Feature Talent Show is coming up, so I've got the dream team together to practice.
A talent show for bugs?
Mm-hmm.
Oh, yeah.
They finally made it past the auditions.
Auditions?
How competitive is this thing?
Extremely.
Bugs are some of the most talented creatures on Earth.
Huh.
And careful where you step.
You almost crushed my MVP.
What?
Mindy, your ants are all out of the ant farm and on the floor.
There's a swarm of mosquitoes hovering around your feet.
Are those beetles playing tiny musical instruments?
Yeah, I think they just might have what it takes to win the whole thing.
Yeah, and speaking of winning, we've got a game show to do.
Oh, right.
Blap the wings.
Polish the stingers.
And come out of your cocoons in three, two, one.
And now for everyone's second favorite game show, after trying to stay awake while grown-ups talk about their knees.
It's Two What's and a What? of two what's and a wow.
The scientific game show that separates the wows from the what's, and the category for today is insects.
Mindy, why don't you refresh our contestants on how the game works?

Wowzers, we are going to give you three scientific statements about insects, but one of those will be a true wow.
The other two, just a couple of made up what's Okay, let's get started.

It's time now to reveal the winning wow.
But before we do, let's do a quick review.
We gave you three statements about bugs and challenged you to find the one true wow.
Was it A. The flea is nature's most powerful jumper.
Or was it B. B. in their own honey?

Cockroaches are so fast that if they were human-sized, they could run 200 miles per hour.
Joining us by phone with the answer to today's question is Nigel and Tyler from Detroit, Michigan.
Nigel, Tyler, what's the wow?
My name is Nigel.
And I'm Tyler.
And we live in Detroit, Michigan.
And our wow is cockroaches are so fast that if they were the size of humans, they could run 200 miles per hour.
Winner, winner, bowl of dirt for dinner.
Nigel and Tyler, you are correct.
Wowzers, if you guessed, C cockroaches are so fast that if they were human sized they could run 200 miles per hour.
Well, congratulations.
You found the winning wow.
Cockroaches can run five feet in a single second.
Compared to humans, that's like moving at a speed of 200 miles an hour.
Cockroaches are the Lamborghini of the insect world.
And it's all in their legs.
Cockroaches have six legs, and each of those legs has three knees, a total of 18 joints in all.
But what's even more wow is that once these cockroaches get up to speed, they'll actually begin to run on their hind legs, just like humans do.
Incredible!
Now, if you picked A or B, those were still great guesses.
If you guessed A, that the flea is nature's most powerful jumper, that wasn't too big of a leap.
Fleas can jump up to 150 times their height.
That's a very impressive 8 inches, but it's still no match for the spittlebug.
A study shows that the spittlebug, also known as the frog hopper, can jump more than two feet into the air.
If we scaled that up to human size, it would be like a human jumping over the Gateway Arch in St.
Louis.
That's around 630 feet.
That is some serious air.
You said it, Guy Raz.
And if you guessed bee, it turns out that bees do not bathe in their own honey But they do eat it.
Making honey is hard work, and the honeybee needs lots of it to fly around and carry heavy loads.
Eating honey helps bees stay nice and strong for the production of, you guessed it, more honey.
