China has rolled out the literal red carpet for President Donald Trump.
Trump touched down in Beijing Wednesday night China time.
As Trump walked down the steps of Air Force One, a crowd of 300 Chinese children waved American and Chinese flags, chanting welcome welcome, enthusiastically welcome.
Trump is set for a big day of meetings with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Thursday.
CNN White House senior reporter Betsy Klein is in Beijing for us.
The war with Iran, complicating President Trump's strategy for this China trip as a peace deal, remains elusive.
China has close ties with Iran.
It's the largest consumer of Iranian oil, so there's much to discuss, with the war likely to dominate their talks.
Trump could encourage Xi to push Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and agree to a peace deal.
They're expected to also unveil some new trade deals and Trump has said he'll raise the case of jailed Hong Kong media mogul, Jimmy Lai.
Now many analysts say Trump is walking into a meeting where Xi holds all the cards and that the Chinese leader might use that leverage to push for more control over Taiwan.
That's a space to watch closely.

So, as Betsy mentioned there, the war with Iran and its impact on oil and gas prices back home are looming over President Trump's trip to China.
However, aides also say President Trump could restart combat operations, and Trump has downplayed any need for Beijing's help in negotiations.
CNN's Oren Lieberman is in Jerusalem and he says the goals for U.S. negotiations have narrowed.
At the beginning of the war.
For both Israel and the US, and this came from both Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Donald Trump, the goal was to destroy the nuclear program or remove it in some way remove the highly enriched uranium, end the ballistic missile program and end support for Iran's proxies.
Now a lot of that frankly seems to be off the table and hasn't been mentioned in quite some time.
The focus is now reopening the Strait of Hormuz and then dealing with Iran's nuclear program.
But as we've all seen, Iran is not exactly jumping to make concessions, quite the opposite.
They see themselves as negotiating from a position of strength.
At the time, it was felt like this is just some virus.
And now in retrospect, there is a question, could it have been hantavirus?
CNN spoke to Dr Steven Kornfeldt, an American now quarantining inside a biocontainment unit at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, after he says he initially tested quote faintly positive for hantavirus.
The CDC is awaiting the results of confirmatory tests expected to come this week.
The oncologist had been aboard the MV Hondias when several passengers started developing what he described as a flu-like illness in early April.
I had three days of night sweats, a lot of chills, some mild respiratory, and a lot of fatigue.
And while the night sweats and the respiratory stuff cleared up pretty quickly, the fatigue lingered for two and a half weeks.
In the US, 17 Americans and one British dual national are being monitored in medical facilities, most of them in Nebraska.
The HHS said Tuesday that 15 people in the quarantine unit there continue to be asymptomatic.
Two other people, who are a couple, were transferred to Atlanta's Emory University, where they are being held in a biocontainment unit.
HHS said on Tuesday that one quote mildly symptomatic person at Emory has tested negative for the handy strain of the virus.
Officials across nearly two dozen countries are working to contain the spread of the virus, but US health authorities stress the risk to the general public remains low.

A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson says David Venturello will take over as acting director at the end of the month, after DHS announced in April that Todd Lyons would be stepping down.
Venturella has worked for ICE off and on for two decades.
In 2012, he left to join a private prison company called GEO Group, which is one of ICE's biggest detention contractors.
DHS Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen has said he wants ICE to take a more quiet approach after a series of chaotic arrests and the killing of two US citizens by federal agents earlier this year.
However, administration officials have vowed to continue mass deportations of those in the US legally.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced the news yesterday.
Collins' family said he died after an eight-month battle with an aggressive brain tumor.

The best resource for that is the International Energy Agency, which is sort of the global energy think tank that collects data on all of this.
And what they predict is that about 8 of the additional electricity that we're going to need by 2030 that will be for data centers.
The other 92% is for other things, industry electrification, electric vehicles, etc.
And AI is really only driving part of that increase in demand.
