It's imagination time with Katie.
Hi, friends.
Welcome to Super Simple's Imagination Time with Katie.
This episode is inspired by the super simple song, this is the way we go to bed.
Going to sleep isn't always easy.
So in this episode, we'll be exploring some ways we can use our imaginations to help.
Here we go.
Hello, hello, it's good to be with you my friend.
Hello, hello, I'm glad we're together again.
We've got Zach on the keys.
Katie singing, la la la la la.
We'll have some fun in our imagination.
Go on adventures again and again.
Hello, hello.
It's good to be with you, my friend.
Hello, hello.
I'm Katie.
Do you hear the piano?
That's our friend Zach.
Hello, hello.
The piano is so soft and dreamy. like a lullaby before we go to sleep.
Do you ever have trouble falling asleep?
It can be tricky sometimes, especially if you don't feel particularly sleepy.
But there are some things we can do to help our minds feel sleepy.
Using our imaginations can sometimes help.
Today, let's imagine what it's like to go to bed and fall asleep.
We can use our imaginations to visit that place where we go to bed each night.
Our bedrooms.
It's a place we've been before.
You might even be there right now.
But let's see if we can fit everything inside of our bedroom all inside our mind.
We'll start by taking a deep breath.
Ready, Zach?
Ready, Katie.
Are you ready, friends?
Let's close our eyes and take a deep breath all together.
In one, two, three, hold it.
Out three, two, one.
Let's imagine we're in our bedroom.
It's cozy.
And the lights are low.
Maybe you can imagine you see your bed.
Maybe you see your books or toys or clothes or stuffed animals.
Everything is where it should be.
It looks exactly how you like it to look.
How do you imagine it feels in your bedroom?
I imagine it feels warm and cozy, like a snuggly hug giving me a gentle squeeze.
Can you imagine the four walls of your bedroom giving you a hug?
It's happy we're here.
Let's take another deep breath together.
We can imagine filling the room with lots of love as we breathe in and out.
In one, two, three, hold it.
Out three, two, one.
We're in our bedroom, in our mind, and now we're ready to go to bed in our imaginations.
This is the way we go to bed.
Go to bed, go to bed.
This is the way we go to bed.
We do it every evening.
Bedtime is a special time that happens every day.
Sometimes at bedtime, you might feel really sleepy.
And sometimes you might not.
But no matter how we feel, It's important that we try to fall asleep, because sleep is very important.
It's like magic for our bodies and our brain.
Sleep lets our bodies grow big and strong and helps our brain remember all the things we learned that day.
It's like we're charging up so we can wake up feeling ready to go.
So, even though I don't imagine I feel very sleepy right now, Let's imagine getting ready for bed and we can give it a try anyway.
Getting ready, ready, ready, getting ready, ready, ready, getting ready, ready, ready for bed.
We'll brush our teeth.
And wash our face.
And get into our comfy, cozy pajamas.
Now, we're ready, ready, ready, we're ready, ready, ready to go to bed.
Let's imagine crawling into bed and getting tucked in under the soft covers.
I imagine I'm bringing a teddy bear to bed with me too.
Can you imagine a special teddy bear of your own in your mind?
I imagine mine has two little eyes, one little nose, and four fluffy paws.
My teddy bear has four paws.
Four paws, four paws.
My teddy bear has four paws.
I love my teddy bear.
Let's hug our teddy bear close and lay our heads down.
I imagine I can feel my soft pillow gently cradling my head.
Can you feel it too?
Tucked in my bed where I'm counting sheep until I'm tired and I fall asleep.
It's time to say goodnight.
Let's imagine giving someone we love a big hug.
And maybe we can imagine them giving us a soft goodnight kiss on the forehead.
Good night to you.
Good night to me.
I imagine I can see the light in my bedroom getting softer as it dims down.
Like the sun setting behind a hill.
Now the room is dark, except for a nightlight twinkling in the corner.
I imagine I hear one last goodnight.
Good night, sleep tight.
In the moonlight, goodnight, sleep tight until morning light.
And then I imagine I hear the door to the bedroom close.
It's time to sleep.
Do you feel sleepy, Katie?
Not really.
I feel comfy and cozy, but not really sleepy.
How does your body feel?
This happens sometimes.
We might be all ready for bed and comfy and cozy in our room, but it's hard to fall asleep.
Does that ever happen to you?
Well, we can wait in bed until we feel sleepy.
Waiting, waiting, we're patient as we're waiting.
We can look around the room from our bed and see what we can see.
Look around.
Look around and see what can be found.
Hmm, what else can we do?
It's hard to lay still if you're not feeling sleepy yet.
Hmm, I'm thinking a thought.
Hmm, I'm thinking a lot.
Hmm, we need an idea.
Let's work with what we've got.
Our imaginations, of course.
We always have our imaginations and we can use them to go somewhere else in our mind until we feel sleepy.
Let's try it.
We can be anything when we're imagining.
Anything, oh anything, imagine with us.
Let's imagine a fluffy white cloud floating into our bedroom.
It hangs in the air up above us.
It looks so soft.
I imagine it moves down next to the bed so I can roll over and slip onto it.
The cloud bounces in the air and then it lifts up into the sky.
I imagine we're floating up, up, up into the night with lots of stars all around us.
There are stars twinkling up high and stars twinkling down below.
Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are.
Wait.
Maybe those aren't twinkling stars down below.
Let's imagine looking over the edge of the fluffy cloud.
How I wonder what you are.
I imagine the lights down below are houses.
Oh.
I can see the lights shining from bedroom windows.
One by one, they turn off as people say goodnight and go to sleep.
Goodnight.
Goodnight.
Good night.
I imagine the cloud is moving away from the houses and into the country.
Let's imagine a farm down below.
Old MacDonald is asleep in his bed, and his animals are about to go to sleep too.
Five little chicks tucked in their nest.
Mother hen says it's time to rest.
One little chick said peep, peep, peep.
But four little chicks stayed fast asleep.
One, two, three, four.
I imagine the chicks, the cows, the horses and the pigs are all snuggled up in the barn, ready for a good night's rest.
We can imagine we hear them saying goodnight to each other.
Moo.
Neigh.
Oink, oink.
Peep, peep.
Our fluffy cloud keeps moving beyond the farm, pushed by a gentle wind, until we're above a big forest.
High above the forest in the night sky.
What do you imagine you hear out here?
Maybe you can hear the trees rustling in the breeze or the crickets quietly chirping way down below.
All the forest animals have gone to bed and are fast asleep.
Except for one.
It looks kind of like our teddy.
It has two eyes, one black nose, and four big paws.
It's a bear.
A very sleepy bear.
I imagine the bear is moving slowly through the trees, back to its den.
It's time for the bear to go to sleep too.
Betty bye, baby bear, lay down in your den until the sun rises and it's morning again.
Let's imagine we're a sleepy baby bear, too. snug in our den.
We are warm and safe.
Our thick brown fur keeps us nice and cozy.
We curl our furry body until we're comfortable.
Lay down our heavy bear head and take a big bear yawn.
In one, two, three, hold it.
Out three, two, one.
I imagine I am a very sleepy baby bear.
Are you sleeping?
Baby bear, let's all rest together.
Close your eyes.
We did it.
I think I'm sleepy for real now.
Me too.
We used our imaginations and now it feels like it will be so easy to drift off to sleep.
I can feel my body relaxing and my mind slowing down.
This is the way we fall asleep.
Fall asleep, fall asleep.
This is the way we fall asleep.
We do it every evening.
Thanks for spending some imagination time with us today.
Let's say goodbye and goodnight.
Goodbye, Goodbye.
Our time has come to an end.
Goodbye for now, Until we're together again.
