The other evening my daughter came to me asking about some new sunglasses she wanted.
We looked them up online and then together made a list of chores, set some goals and decided how much she'd need to save for the new glasses.
Acorn's early chore feature makes it super easy for kids to track chores and get paid.
I love that my kids can earn and save their own money and feel empowered to make their own purchases.

You look around and see fans of all ages, from little kids to grandparents, all united by their love of taylor's music.
But how did a girl from a small town in pennsylvania become one of the biggest music stars in the world?
Let's find out.
A quick shout out to all of the fans who have asked for a Taylor Swift episode over the years.
It's been highly requested, so I'm excited for a chance to finally share it.
Taylor Allison Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in Redding, Pennsylvania.
She grew up on a Christmas tree farm in nearby Cumru Township.
Can you imagine growing up surrounded by Christmas trees all year long?
Taylor loved living on the farm.
Years later she even wrote a song about it, called Christmas Tree Farm, because those memories were so special to her.
Taylor has a younger brother named Austin who was born when she was about two and a half years old.
Growing up, Taylor and Austin were close, and they spent their summers at their family's vacation home in Stone Harbor, New Jersey.
During those summers, Taylor would sometimes perform acoustic songs for people.
Even as a young kid, she loved being on stage and sharing her music.
Taylor discovered her love of music early.
When she was just nine years old, she started taking vocal and acting lessons in New York City.
At first, she was interested in musical theater, but then something changed her mind.
She heard country music stars like Shania Twain and Faith Hill and she fell in love with country music.
She decided that's what she wanted to do with her life.
When Taylor was around 12 years old, she started learning to play the guitar.
A computer repairman who also knew about songwriting taught her how to play.
Taylor practiced all the time.
She also started writing her own songs.
She discovered she had a special talent for taking her feelings and experiences and turning them into songs that other people could relate to.
Taylor knew she wanted to be a country music singer, and the heart of country music was in Nashville, Tennessee.
So when Taylor was 13 years old, her family made a big decision.
They sold their farm in Pennsylvania and moved to Hendersonville Tennessee, which is near Nashville.
Taylor's parents wanted to support her dream, even though it meant making big changes for the whole family.
In Nashville, Taylor worked incredibly hard.
She would go to Nashville and perform at cafes, festivals, and anywhere people would listen.
She carried around a demo CD of her karaoke performances and handed it out to anyone who might help her career.
At 14 years old, Taylor became the youngest person ever signed by Sony ATV as a songwriter.
That's a huge accomplishment for someone so young.
Around this same time, Taylor performed at the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.
A man named Scott Borchetta heard her sing and was amazed by her talent.
He was starting a new record label called Big Machine Records and he wanted Taylor to be one of his first artists.
In 2005, when she was just 15 years old, Taylor signed with Big Machine Records.
Her career was about to take off.
In 2006, Taylor released her first album called Taylor Swift.
It featured songs like Tim McGraw and Teardrops on My Guitar.
The album was a huge success.
People loved Taylor's honest lyrics about her life as a teenager.
She wrote songs about crushes, heartbreak, and growing up.
Her songs felt real because they were about things she actually experienced.
But it was her second album that made Taylor a superstar.
In 2008, she released Fearless.
This album had some of Taylor's most famous songs, including Love Story and You Belong With Me.
These songs were everywhere.
Kids sang them at school.
They played on the radio constantly.
The music videos got millions of views.
Fearless became the most awarded country album of all time.
In 2010, when Taylor was only 20 years old, she won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
She was the youngest person ever to win this award.
It's one of the biggest honors a musician can receive.
Taylor also won three other Grammy Awards that night.
Standing on that stage accepting her awards, Taylor proved that dreams really can come true if you work hard enough.
After Fearless, Taylor kept making music that people loved.
She released albums called Speak Now, Red, and 1989.
With 1989, Taylor made a big change.
She moved away from country music and started making pop music instead.
Some people weren't sure about this change, but 1989 became one of her biggest albums ever.
Songs like Shake It Off and Blank Space became instant classics.
Taylor won Album of the Year at the Grammys again for 1989.
This made her the first woman ever to win Album of the Year twice.
She was making history.
But Taylor wasn't done yet.
She kept creating and experimenting with her music.
Over the years, Taylor has released many more albums.
Each one shows a different side of her artistry.
Taylor is also known for her amazing concerts.
Her Heiress Tour, which started in 2023, became the highest-grossing tour of all time.
My wife, daughters, and I actually attended the first show of the Heiress Tour in Phoenix.
It was amazing to experience her music and showmanship firsthand.
The show lasted more than three hours, and Taylor performed songs from all her different albums.
She changed costumes multiple times and put on an incredible show.
In other cities around the world, millions of fans around the world have gotten to see her perform.
But Taylor isn't just a musician.
She's also known for being kind to her fans.
She calls her fans Swifties, and she has a special relationship with them.
Taylor has been known to surprise fans by showing up at their weddings or sending them gifts.
She reads their comments online and sometimes invites fans to secret listening sessions for her new albums.
She makes her fans feel like they're part of her journey.
Besides her music, Taylor has donated money to help students pay for college so they can follow their dreams.
She's also given millions of dollars to help people when disasters happen.
When floods hit Iowa in 2008, she donated 100000 to the Red Cross to help families who lost their homes.
When tornadoes struck Tennessee, she donated $1 million to help with disaster relief.
In 2024, she gave $5 million to Feeding America to help people affected by hurricanes.
Taylor believes that when people are going through hard times, we should help them.
Taylor also cares about making sure people have enough food to eat.
During her heiress tour, she donated to food banks in every city she visited.
These donations helped feed thousands of families who needed help.
She also shows kindness to the people who work with her.
At the end of her Eras tour, she gave out 197 million in bonuses to everyone who worked on the tour.
Taylor shows us that success isn't just about how famous you become.
It's also about how you treat others and how you use your success to help people.
What makes Taylor Swift so special isn't just her music, though her songs are certainly catchy and meaningful.
What makes her special is her story.
She's someone who knew what she wanted from a very young age and worked incredibly hard to achieve it.
She faced criticism and setbacks along the way, but she never gave up on her dreams.
Taylor started out as a young girl on a Christmas tree farm who loved to sing and write songs.
Through determination, talent and lots of hard work, she became one of the most successful musicians in the world.
She's won countless awards, broken records, and inspired millions of people with her music.
The next time you hear a Taylor Swift song on the radio or see her on TV, remember her story.
Remember that she started out just like any other kid with a dream.
She practiced her guitar, wrote songs in her bedroom and believed in herself, even when things were hard.
Taylor Swift shows us that if you're passionate about something and willing to work for it, amazing things can happen.
Maybe you have a dream too, whether it's music, art, science, sports, or something else entirely.
Who knows?
Maybe one day you'll be the one inspiring others to follow their dreams.
