It's imagination time with Katie.
Hi friends.
Welcome to imagination time.
Today's episode is inspired by one of my favorite songs.
Super spooky Halloween storm.
We'll be imagining some wild weather in our minds and learning ways to help with the storms of emotions that can sometimes happen inside of us too.
Here we go.
Hello, hello.
It's good to be with you, my friend.
I'm glad we're together again.
We've got Zach on the keys, Katie singing la la la, la la.
We'll have some fun in our imagination.
Go on adventures again and again.
Hello, Hello.
It's good to be with you, my friend.
Hello, hello.
I'm Katie and this is Zach.
Hello, hello.
We're so glad you're here.
And you're just in time because I heard a storm is coming.
Yep, a storm is brewing, all right.
Have you seen a storm before?
Sometimes there are flashes of light across the sky called lightning.
A storm can make loud sounds too.
A big rumble called thunder.
Today, we'll imagine these stormy things in our minds.
And it might get a bit super spooky.
But remember, we're always safe in our imaginations.
Let's get ready to use our imaginations together by clearing our minds and relaxing our bodies.
Ready, Zach?
Ready, Katie.
Are you ready, friends?
Let's close our eyes and take a deep breath.
In one, two, three, hold it.
Out three, two, one.
Let's imagine the calm before the storm.
Our bodies are relaxed.
Our breath is slow and steady, like the wind blowing in and out.
Let's imagine our breath is the wind and we can send the wind through our minds to blow away all our thoughts.
We can also send the wind through our bodies with a big breath in imagining it filling all the spaces inside of us and moving from the top of our head down to the tip of our toes as we breathe out.
Let's try it all together.
In one, two, three, hold it.
Out three, two, one.
We are totally calm and ready for anything.
Even a super spooky Halloween storm.
Oh, I think the storm is starting!
One night I woke to a very loud sound.
The wind was howling as the rain came down.
When I heard the thunder, I knew for sure It was a super spooky Halloween storm.
It was a super spooky Halloween storm, A super spooky Halloween storm.
The storm would give you quite a fright On the super spooky Halloween night.
Ooh, the storm has started.
I imagine I can see rain starting to drip drop outside the window.
Can you see it in your mind?
I imagine I can see it making little splashes on the ground.
Picture better.
And the rain goes, pitter patter, pitter patter.
Pitter patter, pitter patter.
Pitter patter, pitter patter.
It was a super spooky Halloween storm.
I imagine the rain is starting to pitter patter faster.
I can see the raindrops hitting up against the window in my mind.
Can you see it?
Maybe you imagine you can hear it too.
The pitter-patter kind of sounds like drumming.
Let's imagine for a moment that we can feel the raindrops too.
Maybe we can imagine we are the sturdy window and the raindrops are bouncing off of us.
We stop the drops from getting inside and keep all the rain out.
Can you imagine how it feels to have the raindrops fall on you?
And then drip down, down, down, down.
We can be anything when we're imagining Anything or anything.
Imagine with me.
We can even imagine we're a window protecting us from a storm.
Let's imagine looking out the window.
What do you see?
I see trees blowing in the wind.
Ooh, I imagine that it has gotten really windy.
I can see the trees blowing over in my mind.
It looks like they're trying to bend over.
It's so windy.
Can you see the wind blowing in your mind?
And the wind goes, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
It was a super spooky Halloween storm.
Let's imagine we are the trees blowing in the wind.
Being moved this way and that way.
Whichever way the wind blows.
Can you imagine feeling the wind push and pull at your branches while your roots are sturdy in the ground?
We're going this way.
That way.
Forward.
Backwards.
Up and down, up and down.
It's really windy.
Whoa!
I imagine I just saw a big flash of light in the sky.
It must have been lightning.
After lightning comes... Thunder!
Thunder makes a big boom sound.
And the thunder goes Boom boom Boom boom Boom boom, Boom boom.
It was a super spooky Halloween storm.
Can we pretend to be thunder?
Let's imagine making loud boom, boom sounds like we're thunder, rumbling through the sky.
I said a boom, shake a boom.
I said a boom, shake a boom.
I said a boom, shake a rocket, shake a rocket, shake a boom.
Uh-huh.
Oh, yeah.
One more time, like thunder.
Boom, sugar, boom.
If we imagine the rain and the wind and the thunder all together, then the storm will be super loud.
Woosh!
Pitter patter, pitter patter!
Boosh!
Pitter patter, pitter patter!
Boosh!
Pitter patter, pitter patter!
Boosh!
Pitter patter, pitter patter!
I imagine the rain and wind and thunder and lightning are all happening at once.
The storm might be getting too super spooky.
It's getting louder and stronger than I thought it would be.
The calm before the storm seems so long ago, I imagine my body doesn't feel so relaxed anymore.
It feels like the wind is blowing super fast all around me.
Uh oh.
When I'm feeling big feelings, I stop and see how the big feelings are feeling in me when something becomes overwhelming and we start to have big feelings.
It can feel like a super spooky storm inside of our body.
Have you ever felt like there's a storm happening inside your body?
I think it happens to all of us sometimes.
I think so too.
It's a normal feeling to have.
It can still be tricky to wait for the storm to pass.
Remember, in the calm before the storm, we imagined our breath was the wind?
Let's try that again, but we'll see if we can make the wind slow down.
In one, two, three, hold it.
L3, two, one.
We're slowing down the wind and blowing away the storm.
In one, two, three, hold it.
And if the noises around us get too loud, we can make our own gentle sound.
Let's try humming together.
Like a happy bumblebee.
Can you feel the buzz in your lips?
Kind of tickles.
And if the rain is pitter-pattering too hard, and we need to take cover.
We can wrap our arms around our body and give a gentle squeeze.
We can imagine our arms are rainbows giving us a hug.
Speaking of a rainbow, I imagine I see one outside.
Wait!
Listen!
The storm is coming down.
And it's quiet now The sun is shining bright.
Oh, what a lovely sight.
I imagine the skies have cleared And through the last few clouds in the sky, A rainbow is shining down with all its bright colors.
I see red, orange, yellow, green.
I see blue and indigo And I see violet The colors of the rainbow.
That was a big storm, But we made it through.
Sometimes our feelings can be like storms.
They can feel so big that they surprise us.
We might say something we don't mean, or want to cry, or yell, or hide.
But just like a storm, our big feelings will pass.
And our imagination can help us get through the storm until it's over.
It was a super spooky Halloween storm.
A super spooky Halloween storm.
The thunder and wind and rain gave a fright On that super spooky Halloween night.
That was a stormy imagination adventure.
It was kind of super spooky.
But it was exciting too.
I hope you'll join us again for more imagination time.
But until then, it's time to say goodbye.
Goodbye.
Goodbye.
Our time has come to an end.
Goodbye.
For now.
Until we're together again.
Goodbye, goodbye from all your friends at Super Simple.
