  1. Expanding Surface Area: As code generation tools increase developer productivity, the volume of software to protect grows. Furthermore, the rise of autonomous "agents" operating within enterprises creates new security requirements. Cybersecurity is effectively becoming a "tax on that surface area."
  2. Elevated Threat Environment: Sophisticated bad actors are already utilizing generative AI. To combat the "sophistication, volume, and velocity of these attacks," enterprises must "use generative AI to counter the generative AI."
  3. Regulatory Complexity: Companies are struggling with a lack of consistency in global and state-level regulations. This complexity, particularly regarding "data governance," creates a demand for vendors who can assist with compliance.

The Generalization of Autonomous Systems

Matt Bombasi provided insights into autonomous driving, noting that neural nets are becoming increasingly "generalizable." The integration of "transformer architecture" allows these systems to transfer context across different verticals. Bombasi explained that 80% to 90% of the underlying software is applicable across various domains, meaning companies successful in ride-hailing could potentially pivot to autonomous trucking.
