3. Exercise Timing and Intensity

While any exercise is beneficial, Huberman suggests that combining high-intensity training (HIT/SIT) with subsequent moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) is optimal for fat oxidation. Training in a fasted state—specifically after 90 minutes of moderate activity or following high-intensity anaerobic bouts—can shift the body to utilize fat stores more efficiently by keeping insulin levels low.

Huberman discusses several compounds that can enhance fat metabolism:
