📋 Summary

Embracing June: A Season of Renewal and Artistic Creation

June marks a period of profound transformation and "magical" energy for the creator, characterized by the ethereal beauty of the midnight sun and the lush, blooming landscape of the north. This season serves as a backdrop for both professional milestones and personal reflection, as the artist navigates the demands of gallery management while honoring the memory of her late dog, Nanook.

Honoring Memory and Finding Beauty in Grief

Marking the one-year anniversary of Nanook’s passing, the creator reflects on the process of grieving. By spending time at his gravesite, she acknowledges the "brutally much" she misses him, yet finds solace in the "painfully beautiful" nature surrounding her. The support from her community has been a pillar of strength, with viewers walking alongside her through this grief, a connection she describes as something she is "forever grateful for."

Gallery Transformation and Artistic Vision

The core of the recent weeks has been the renovation and preparation of her gallery in Sollefteå. Together with her brother Filip, she undertook the intense task of painting the gallery walls gray to better complement her new collection of paintings. The artist emphasizes the importance of flow and energy in curating the space, noting that "orchestrating energy" is vital when arranging artworks in a compact environment. Her new series, heavily inspired by nature with "green and earthy tones," represents a deep personal passion, reinforcing her commitment to her creative vision despite the logistical pressures.

Community and Collaborative Spirit

The exhibition preparation highlights the collaborative nature of her work. From creating "forest worlds" with moss-covered jewelry displays to the back-office labor of cutting signs and preparing the gallery, the artist expresses immense pride in her team. She also shares a heartwarming update on her charity project with Åbattle, where the community’s overwhelming support for her limited-edition bottles will fund additional wells in Ghana. This collective action is a testament to what can be achieved when people "go together in something."

The Return of the "Unity" Project

Looking ahead to the store's one-year anniversary, the artist announces the return of her ambitious "Unity" painting project. By creating a large artwork on 150 individual 10x10 centimeter canvas pieces, she aims to foster connection among her audience. She recalls the original project, created during the final weeks of Nanook’s life, as a deeply special endeavor. This year, she feels "inspired to continue working" in green tones, letting the painting "come alive however it wants to look," symbolizing her ongoing creative evolution.

Unraveling the Mystery of the Sami Ring

The narrative concludes with the resolution of a personal mystery: a ring found buried in her garden. Through community feedback, she identified it as a 1981 "Lapland Ring" by the Finnish brand Kalevalakoru. The discovery carries extra weight as she recently learned of her own Sámi heritage. The ring, traditionally worn for protection against "negative energy or spirits," serves as a symbolic bridge to her ancestral roots, marking a moment of personal discovery that she plans to explore further in future projects.

Ultimately, this period is defined by a sense of gratitude—for the beauty of the Swedish summer, the growth of her garden, and the unwavering support of a community that she refuses to "take for granted."

Here in the north, the nights are no longer dark.
They are bright and beautiful, and the night sky is painted in soft shades of pink and gold, with mist drifting across the landscape like something out of a dream.
The past couple of weeks in my life has been incredibly busy.
Most of my days have been spent preparing for the new exhibition in my gallery and store in Sollefteå.
Trying to get everything ready in time.
