Happy fall, everybody.
I am so excited for today's vlog.
And, as you can tell by the title, this is gonna be all about autumn and getting into a cozy fall mood.
Fall in particular, I think, is my favorite season to romanticize, because there's just so many fun things to do and look forward to.
Obviously it's beautiful outside when the trees start turning golden and red.
But besides that, it's just a time where I can really get cozy and romanticize, staying in and being the homebody that i am.
I really enjoy that.
I have my little pumpkin chai this morning and later on in this vlog we're also gonna make some pumpkin spice syrup.
We're gonna watch a cozy fall film, maybe do some baking.
Look at some seasonal home decor.
So I'm very excited.
I hope you are too.
Today's Friday and I don't have any classes on Fridays.
So to kickstart off my weekend, my sister and I decided we were going to go for a walk together.
The trees haven't quite turned golden or red yet, but it's slowly getting there.
So I feel like it'll be nice to just be outside and enjoy that.
And then this afternoon we also decided we're going to go work at a coffee shop just to get caught up on assignments and whatnot, and i'm gonna see if that coffee shop has any seasonal drinks i can try, because that's always something i really look forward to.
I'm very excited for today's video.
I hope you are too and you can get cozy.
Grab yourself a fun little beverage and let's get right into it.
As you can see, I am back from my little outing and I've been having the coziest Friday and I just want to keep these vibes going.
I have to do a little bit more revision, but then once I'm done, I'm hoping this evening I can just cuddle up and watch a nice fall film.
I haven't chosen which one yet, because I feel like every time fall comes around, I have, like this list of movies that I always want to rewatch, and
There's just so many to choose from, honestly.
But before I get on with the rest of today's cozy activities, I wanted to say a quick word from today's sponsor, which is Linear.
So excited to be working with Linear again on this video.
You might remember that I worked with Linear earlier this year and I still wear the jewelry that I featured in that video to this day.
Especially this ring has become like my go-to.
I just love wearing it every day and I feel like their pieces have held up really well.
So of course, when they reached out to work with me again, I was super thrilled.
Linear's mission is to empower women all around the world with luxe, high quality, sustainable jewelry at a fair price.
That way, everyone can enjoy high quality jewelry without the costly luxury markup or compromising on sustainability.
Every detail is so beautiful like you can tell even just from the look of the packaging how high quality this is.
To tell you a little bit more about their sustainable jewelry it's really built to last and it uses materials that are recycled whenever possible, including 100 recycled gold and silver.
Linear also offsets carbon emissions for every shipment.
First things first.
I got this Moonstone ring and I just love how minimal but still unique it looks.
And I feel like it's a good piece that you can wear every day.
I've been meaning to kind of upgrade my ring collection and because I already love this one so much, I wanted to add on
And then I also got another very simple ring that I can just wear every day.
This one just has a subtle kind of wave design.
All of the pieces that I picked out are made out of their gold vermeil material, which is a more affordable alternative to solid gold.
It has a sterling silver base but is plated in a thick layer of 22 karat gold, which is actually five times thicker than regular gold plated jewelry.
And then lastly, I got this set of pearl earrings.
I honestly feel like earrings are the finishing touch when I put together an outfit, and I love how these are still good and minimal to wear on an everyday basis but have a bit of a bohemian chic aspect to them.
If ever you're looking for something a little bit more personal, Lanier also has a lot of pieces to choose from, with birthstones and charms, which can make a really unique gift for a loved one in your life.
As always, you can head over to Linear's website by clicking the link down below, and I'll also put my discount code somewhere on the screen for you to use at checkout.
I am very excited to be styling these pieces with all of my different outfits this fall and for many more seasons to come.
Thank you again so much to Linear for partnering with me and let's get on with the rest of today's vlog.
Hello friends, and welcome to movie night with clarice.
I have the mini mic out um, and i really hope it's recording audio properly, because every time i've tried to use this mic in the past i've had issues, so fingers crossed that the audio is nice and crisp.
As you can see, i'm in bed and i am all ready for a cozy movie night.
I've got my fall candle lit and it smells amazing.
I have a little table next to me with all of my movie night essentials some buttered popcorn, of course.
Ideally i would have had caramel corn, but i did not have any of that, so maybe next time.
I've got a nice tall glass of water and a little cup of apple chamomile tea and i'm all ready to watch a movie.
I'm watching it in bed because i just thought that was the coziest vibe for tonight.
I was thinking through the list of movies that i like to re-watch, usually around this time of year just cozy, heartwarming movies in general, and you know there's obviously a lot of different options i could have chosen, but i decided to go with a movie that is very near and dear to my heart and for a really long time.
When people ask me what my favorite movie is, i would answer this one i'm gonna be watching dead poet society, which i love so much.
It's such a good movie.
In many ways i honestly feel like this is still my favorite movie, or at least it's just my go-to answer, because it's a movie i watched when i was younger that like really stuck with me for a long time, and just everything about the vibe of this movie to me is very autumn.
So we're gonna watch it and i might cry because it's a sad movie.
If you I've seen it before, then you know.
But that is the magic of a good movie, is that it will transport you somewhere else.
Feel free to comment down below what your go-to autumn movie is.
I feel like I have quite a few, but they're all pretty classic, like obviously Dead Poets Society When Harry Met Sally is also amazing, if you love rom-coms.
A lot of people will say Little Women, and I agree that that is a good autumn movie, but to me it's more so associated with the transition between autumn and winter.
Like I remember watching that movie on Christmas Day actually, I think, with my family, and so I associated more with like November, December rather than early autumn.
Fantastic, mr fox.
Also really good fall movie.
What else i wish i had, like intellectual answers, but the truth is i don't really watch films out of my comfort zone enough.
But please comment down below your recommendations, because i would love to add to my list and maybe we can do more of these movie nights together.
Anyways, i'm gonna actually get my movie ready and set up and i'm gonna dim the lights and put my phone on.
Do not disturb, let's enjoy this movie night.
Good night.
Good morning everyone and happy Saturday.
I have all my ingredients ready to make pumpkin pie syrup this morning.
Pumpkin pie or pumpkin spice?
I don't really know the difference, but I think I'm also going to make some like apple cinnamon pancakes for breakfast.
Basically I want all of the autumn vibes this morning.
And that's the goal.
I'm going to put on a full playlist and get to making that.
I found this recipe on Pinterest.
So that's what I'm going to be basing myself off of.
And I'll put all the measurements on screen in case you want to follow along.
And I hope it turns out good because if there's one thing I love, it's seasonal drinks.
I'm going to put my full playlist on and let's get right to it.
Thank you for watching.
As you can see, it's a little bit later now and I got ready for the day, but I finished making my pumpkin syrup and honestly, making this was pretty easy.
I'd say the only like issue I ran into was when I had to strain the syrup because obviously when you boil the like pumpkin puree with all the other ingredients it gets a little bit thicker and then you're supposed to like strain it to really make it this like liquidy texture and consistency.
But the recipe said to use a cheesecloth and I don't have one of those, so I just used, like a little makeshift strainer that I had.
So it took a little bit longer and I ended up like having to re-put the thicker residue back with some more water to make it more liquidy.
All this to say I'm excited to make myself a coffee with this, and I'm also excited to use this cute little cup.
Like look how adorable.
I actually got this earlier this week because I was at the stop and look at some of the full decor that was out.
And I did film a few clips from then, so I will insert those now.
Hello friends, and welcome to today's episode of me showing you and trying to justify the purchases that I made, aka a haul of what I got this afternoon.
The reason I went to the mall was because it's my friend's birthday this weekend, so I already knew I wanted to get some things for her gift.
But of course, because I was there, I figured why not look at the seasonal stuff and the fall knickknacks that are out?
And I did get a few things for myself, but I feel like I was pretty reasonable and I didn't really want to splurge on any seasonal stuff per se, because I already know I want to redecorate my bedroom and my like basement slash office space from scratch anyways.
So I didn't really see the point in getting anything specifically for fall, because I already wanna redecorate that space for like every day, if that makes sense.
I went into Winners, HomeSense and Indigo, which for my Americans watching that is the Canadian equivalent of TJ Maxx, HomeGoods and Barnes and Nobles, pretty much.
Starting with the one piece of decor I did get, which is gonna be for the basement downstairs.
I basically have this vision of redecorating that space to make it a really cozy reading and work area where I have like, my office on one side and then the couch with my books.
And I already know which bookshelf I'm gonna get.
But I'm like slowly accumulating decor for down there.
And I thought this would be a perfect addition.
It is, I was gonna say a vase, but it's not a vase.
It's just like a sculpture, I guess you could say, of these three books Wuthering Heights, Emma and Little Women, all three classics.
I actually only read Emma.
I think I started Little Women, but I never got around to finishing it.
And I just thought this would be so cute to fill up some space once I do finally get the bookshelves, because I already know I'm not gonna manage to fill all of them up with the books I have.
So I saw this and I was like Well, of course I have to get this for the library downstairs once I get to decorating it.
And I love how minimal it is.
I feel like it'll fit right in.
This next thing I got.
My justification for it is that I've been wanting something like this, and it's cute.
And I guess I don't really have a justification, but it is this adorable little mug or not mug, rather cup.
It's basically like one of those icon cups from oh The Icon I can't say that word Icon cups from Anthropologie, but it has little bats on it in this little white rim.
Oh, hello.
Hear me out.
It's cute.
It's going to be perfect for me to make my little pumpkin spiced coffee and seasonal drinks in.
And then this last thing I got for myself.
It was really because I fell victim to those little aisles that they have once you're waiting in line to check out and they have like all those little knickknacks.
They got me because I saw this and I was like, yeah, that's cute.
I got this claw clip and of course they had a bunch of different letters.
So naturally I had to get C for Clarisse, also C for clouds.
And to my defense, I actually don't have any bigger sized claw clips.
I think they all broke and I've just been using like small ones to do half up, half down with, but hopefully I can use this to fully pulled my hair up.
And now, moving on to the things I actually got for my friend's gift,
I got her this adorable gift bag.
It has all of these dogs with little party hats on and I thought it was so cute.
I also needed like a bigger bag because I got her this oversized kind of fleece jacket.
So I don't think that would fit in any of the bags I currently have at home.
And then i also got her this little book sleeve with these little stars and i love how like it's shimmery a little bit.
Anyways, that is my haul of what i got.
I'm very excited to make myself a little seasonal drink in this cup later.
I have to get back to work now, but i hope you enjoyed that little haul and i will cut back to whatever future clarice has planned for this video.
Let's give this a try.
I feel like I didn't get any of the syrup.
I'm gonna put more.
That is really good.
Actually, I'm pleasantly surprised.
I'm not the biggest coffee drinker And I will say this coffee actually tastes like a coffee.
I would like get at a coffee shop, which is like something I can rarely achieve, usually at home.
I don't know if it's the syrup or just like the ratio of espresso to milk, but it tastes really good.
I have to stop myself because I'm literally like drinking this like it's water, but it is in fact caffeine.
Even just the fact that it's an acute cup automatically makes it taste 10 times better.
