Thanksgiving, we had an amazing Thanksgiving holiday a couple days ago on Thursday last week.
We, my family and I, had a fantastic dinner.
I uploaded pictures of exactly what we ate.

My wife uploaded or gave me a picture.
It's so much better.

Oh, so delicious.
It doesn't sound like a good combination, but it is.

But they're carrots, delicious.
Over here is a pumpkin pie.
We can just see part of it.
There's whipped cream on top.
These are mashed potatoes.
Absolutely delicious.
Over to the right of the mashed potatoes, that is stuffing.
And that is something that we can put inside the bird, the turkey, or you can cook it separately.
It's basically a bread pudding.
Next to that, cranberry bread.
Absolutely delicious.
Warm with butter.
Oh, my God.
And then, of course, the piece de resistance.
The piece de resistance.
The most important part, the turkey.
Yeah.
And you can see my carving knife.
I'm trying to carve up the turkey.
It was done perfectly.
The meat was very moist.
It's extremely similar to chicken.
So people say, I don't like turkey.
No, no, no, no.
You haven't had my wife's turkey.
I was going to say my turkey, but it was my wife's turkey.
But that's Thanksgiving at my house this past Thursday.
It was fantastic.
But back to the story.
Lots of people travel during the holidays.
In America, Thanksgiving and Christmas are probably the biggest holidays.
And what happens is Some people go on vacation.
But typically if you have a family with young children, you got grandma and grandpa, the mom's parents and the dad's parents.
And usually on Thanksgiving, you go to the mom's parents.
And then on Christmas, you go to the dad's parents.
And then the next year, you switch.
That's typically what happens.
Of course, college kids, people who work in cities, they like to travel back home too.
And there was a storm, bad weather during the holiday travel season, and it was a disaster.
A massive storm, huge giant, massive storm disrupted, interfered with, caused problems to Thanksgiving travel.
Grounding flights, meaning airplanes could not take off into the sky.
They had to stay on the ground.
Grounding flights at seven major, big, huge U.S. airports, including Atlanta and Chicago.
If you've flown in America, you have probably been at the Atlanta airport and or the Chicago airport big airports.
Thunderstorms and low clouds caused over 1,000 deaths delays with atlanta's control tower briefly evacuated oh my god the storms were so bad they had to leave the tower really that's crazy the faa that is the federal aviation administration that's the government's uh airplane you know government thing okay the faa warned of the busiest holiday in 15 years That's good news with 82 million travelers.
That's nice.
I like when people travel.
It means people are feeling good usually.
They're going on a vacation.
They're seeing family.
That's good.
I like that.
Bad weather, delays, not good.
But anyway, getting home for the holidays.

The police got them.
Why?
For a door kicking challenge inspired by TikTok.
So these teenage knuckleheads dummies rum-dums, are watching a video on TikTok, and the video is a challenge.
Hey, go do this.
Can you do this?
Are you brave enough to do this?
And what is this?
Kicking doors.
But not just like kicking doors a little, like really kicking doors hard, breaking doors.
That is stupid.
They damaged doors, terrified residents.
People who lived in those houses were scared.
What's going on?
And even sparked and even caused a school lockdown after being mistaken for intruders.
A school was in session.
Teenagers were kicking the doors and the school thought, oh my God, we're being invaded.
Somebody's trying to hurt the children.
So they locked the school down.
The police called it vandalism, not a prank.
A prank is a joke, okay?
It's just a joke.
But vandalism is, you know, where you're actually breaking things and causing problems.
With repair costs hitting $1,000 per home.
Man.
Idiot kids.
Idiots.
Is it the parents' fault?
I think partly it's mom and dad's fault.
I have two boys.
And I don't know if you can hear them.
Right now, they're crazy.
They're in the living room.
I don't know what they're doing.
They're crazy.
But I don't think they would do something stupid like this.
When I was young, I'll be honest.
When I was young one time, and I didn't try to do it.
Well, actually, I have a couple of stories.
I'll just tell you one story.
I had a big piece of wood.
And I'm not joking.
Like 30 meters away, 40 meters away, there was this big wooden sign and I was with my friends and I said hey, I bet I can hit that sign.
And they said yeah, go ahead.
And I threw the big piece of wood and it hit the sign and it broke the sign and I ran.
I ran so far away.
I was a bad boy so I am guilty of vandalism.
Oh my god, That is so bad.
I hope my boys don't do anything.
Oh, geez.
Please pray for me.

I don't like this guy.

So he's wearing a wig He's wearing a dress But come on He probably didn't shave Because he's not too smart He probably had a mustache His fingernails were dirty He had man hands I have no idea He wasn't wearing heels.
He was wearing work boots.
I have no idea.
But the guy's disguise, the dress and the wig, things didn't look right.
So they called the police.
And the police came and arrested him for fraud.
F-R-A-U-D.
Good.
He claimed, he said, he needed the money for debts.
He was in debt.
Hey, I'm in debt.
Are you in debt?
I got debt.
I'm not too proud or not whatever.
I can admit it.
I'm not proud of it, but I can admit it.
I got debt, but I would never steal money from my mom or dad or anybody.
Terrible.
Absolutely terrible.
I'm glad that guy's going to jail.
I think he's going to jail.
Anyway, he's got problems.

So if you go into Coach Shane's Instagram, there's so many pictures.
But me, I like horses.
So if you go into my Instagram, I see lots of horses.
It's very different, same program, but that's the algorithm.
Okay, do you understand now?
Tick-tocks algorithm boosts prank videos 70 faster than dance clips, meaning kids are seeing prank videos on A whole heck of a lot.
Making risky challenges go viral in hours.

That's not cool.
And that's something you know these companies TikTok Instagram, Facebook.
They have the power to fix that right.
They can fix that if they want.
And they absolutely should.
See, I love free speech.
I think people should be able to say what they want.

Oh, to dress up.
I love this verb, phrasal verb.
And again, it has three very different meanings.
So check it out.
Number one, to wear fancy clothes, to put on formal attire.
She dressed up for the wedding in a gown.
She wore a dress.
The guy dressed up for the wedding in a suit.
Kids dress up as superheroes for Halloween.
Yeah.
They dress up like Spider-Man and whoever.
Definition number two to make something look better.
Listen carefully to improve appearance.
Dress up the presentation with cool clothes.
Graphics.
If you're gonna give a presentation, some sort of talk, make it look better by adding graphics, dress it up.
They dressed up the old house for sale.
They made the old house look better.
Maybe they painted it.
Maybe they I don't know washed the roof I have no idea.
They did something to make the old house look better.
And definition number three to pretend that To be someone.
To act like another person.
He dressed up as his boss for the skit.
That doesn't necessarily mean you wore special clothes.
She dressed up as a pirate for fun.
So here you wear special clothes, but also you act like a pirate.
Arr, matey.
Or I'm gonna steal your money.
Where's my ship?
Arr.
That's what a pirate does.
So it can mean dressing up in the clothing, but also acting, pretending to be someone or something else.

Our listening tip of the week.
To really build your listening skills, you need to build up your speaking skills.
In our DDM course, we have five areas that we always focus on.
Cancellation, reductions, blending, stop sounds, and linking.
These five areas will unlock your ears and allow you to hear.
Today, we're going back to reduction.
And I'm going to talk about the phrase, I'm going to.
I'm going to.
Do you know how many pronunciations I'm going to has?
Well, first of all, we got some cancellation.
I'm going to becomes I'm gonna.
I'm is a reduction.
Going to is gonna.
It's a cancellation and reduction.
I'm gonna.
I'm gonna.
But we can say it faster.
More reduction.
And we can say I'm gonna.
I'm gonna.
And we can say it faster.
More reduction.
We can say I'm gonna.
I'm gonna.
And there's one more reduction that we also use.
And it's I'm gonna.
I'm gonna.
I'm gonna go to bed.
I'm gonna.
Oops.

Yeah.

Yeah.
That's possible.
These are reductions.
It's a combination of cancellation and reduction.
So perfect.
If you're in my perf class or speaking class, I would prefer you say, I'm going to.
But if you said, I'm gonna, and you said it naturally, that's fine.
But I want you to really understand.
And if you're listening to Americans speaking, you'll definitely hear, I'm gonna.
But you're also going to hear, I'm gonna.
And I'm gonna.
And I'm a, And now you know what they mean.
They all mean I'm going to, all right, practice those, especially for your listening skills, for your speaking skills.
Stick to, I'm going to and I'm gonna stick to those two and remember for your listening skills again, if you can say it, you can hear it all right.
Finally, communication tip manage delays professionally in meetings or travel plans.
Handle disruptions calmly, like the Thanksgiving storm situation.
Say things like this, looks like a delay, here's our backup plan.
Oh my gosh, we're gonna have a delay, so here is our backup plan, be prepared.
Here's our backup plan.
Or you could say, oh, it looks like we're gonna have a delay, what is our backup plan?
