📋 Summary

Navigating Life, Wellness, and Family Transitions: A Candid Q&A Session

In this intimate Q&A session, the speaker revisits the habit of recording videos from the floor, reminiscent of her early days, to foster a deeper connection with her audience. The discussion spans a wide range of topics, from maintaining physical health and managing professional stress to the emotional complexities of navigating parental divorce as an adult.

A Balanced Approach to Fitness and Self-Talk

Addressing the challenge of staying in shape, the speaker emphasizes that the struggle is often not about physical balance, but rather the "self-talk and the negativity" that follows indulgence. She advocates for a mindset where one recognizes that enjoying a meal with loved ones is "worth it." By moving away from "overthinking and overtracking," she found that maintaining her physique became both easier and more enjoyable. She suggests that if one chooses to track progress, it should be done by focusing on how clothes fit and overall energy levels rather than an "attachment to a number" on a scale, which she believes often lacks relevance and positivity.

Practical Habits for Daily Order

When asked about what makes her feel like she has her "shit together," the speaker highlights the importance of her physical environment. Maintaining a clean and organized space—even through simple habits like a "quick cleanup" of dishes and surfaces before bed—serves as a crucial way to "unwind" and maintain mental clarity amidst the chaos of daily life.

Mental Health and Career Resilience

As a model, the speaker faces the unique challenge of professional instability. She identifies the "lack of consistency" in her career as her primary mental health struggle, noting that she often internalizes slow periods as personal failures. However, she has learned to reframe these moments, viewing them as opportunities for growth rather than setbacks. By shifting her perspective—adhering to the philosophy that "when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change"—she has learned to ride out difficult waves, trusting that there is often "something better at the end."

Healing and Setting Boundaries

One of the most poignant parts of the session involves the speaker’s reflection on her parents' divorce. Describing the process as "unearthed" and "cracking me open," she explains that navigating adult relationships with parents requires significant emotional labor. A key takeaway from this experience has been the necessity of "learning how to set boundaries" and overcoming the guilt associated with prioritizing one's own emotional well-being. She credits therapy and the support of her partner, Avery, as instrumental in helping her navigate this complex transition, ultimately leading to a life where she feels more empowered to decline situations that impact her negatively.

By sharing these personal reflections, the speaker underscores the importance of community and honesty in navigating the "real life that happens behind the scenes," encouraging her audience to find their own paths to self-acceptance and healthy boundary-setting.

📖 Transcript

I just replaced my battery for the battery that was in the charger and I just realized that I put the charged battery back into the charger and I put the empty one back into my camera.
Off to a strong start.
I thought today we could sit here on the floor by my couch.
I don't know who of you have been around since the very beginning, but it's kind of reminding me when I used to film all of my videos at the foot of my bed sitting on the floor my very first apartment and even though it wasn't aesthetic or perfect or anything, i always loved filming there.
So i wanted to film a little q a today and catch up on some of the questions that i have from a q a i did on instagram and also some questions that i didn't answer last time around.
A lot of the questions were based around health and wellness and also mental health, and so I think what I'm gonna do this year is actually do dedicated QAs.
