It's imagination time with Katie. Hi friends!
You're listening to Super Simple Imagination Time with Katie.
And this episode is inspired by the super simple song, I like to ride my bicycle.
Let's go! It's good to be with you, my friend Hello, hello Glad we're together again We got Zach on the keys And Katie's singing la la la la la We'll have some fun in our imagination Go on adventures again and again Hello?
Hello. It's good to be with you, my friend.
Hi, friends. I'm Katie. I'm Zach. And this is imagination time.
Thanks for being here today. Zach is playing the piano. and I'm going to lead us on an incredible imagination bike ride adventure!
And this will be no ordinary bike ride, because this bike ride takes place in our minds.
And anything can happen when we use our imaginations.
Let's take a few moments now to clear some space in our bodies and minds so we're fully ready to ride.
We'll start by taking a deep breath altogether.
Ready, Zach? Ready, Katie? Are you ready, friends?
Let's go! In one, two, three, hold it Out three, two, one Listen.
What do you hear? I hear Zach playing the piano, and his piano will travel with us on our bike ride.
We'll be doing lots of pretend pedaling, so let's stretch our fingers.
And stretch our toes, getting ready for the big ride.
Give your whole body a big stretch. Let's take one more deep breath.
In one, two, three, hold it Out three, two, one We're ready to ride in our imaginations.
I like to ride my bicycle I ride it every day I ride it when I go to school or when I want to play.
I want to play. Do you have your bicycles ready?
I can see mine in my mind. There are two handlebars at the front, two wheels, and a seat just for me in the middle.
My bike is the color blue. Mine is purple.
Very nice. What color is your bicycle? Maybe you have a basket on your bike.
Or a bell. The bikes in our imaginations can be anything we like.
It can be anything when you're imagining Anything you wanted to be, imagine with me Let's take these imaginary bikes for a spin.
Oh, hold on. Wait a minute. Do you have your helmet?
It's very important to wear a helmet for protection when we're riding a bike.
Let's make sure we have everything we need.
Getting ready, ready, ready, getting ready, ready, ready, getting ready, ready, ready to go.
Put on your helmet. Tighten the strap. Make sure it's nice and snug.
Now, we're ready, ready, ready. We're ready, ready, ready to ride.
One foot on the pedal, then the other. Now imagine yourself pushing off and use your feet to pedal.
Oh, it's a bit wobbly. Riding a bike is even a bit tricky in our imagination.
But we can do it! Find your balance. Feel your feet moving in circles.
Pedal a bit faster. Well, we're really going now.
Riding a bike feels glorious. I can even imagine I feel the breeze against my face as we ride forward.
Let's go! Riding on my bike Paddle, paddle, paddle Riding on my bike Paddle, paddle, paddle Riding very fast Pedal, pedal, pedal Riding very slow Pedal, pedal, pedal I like riding, riding on my bike Let's pretend to turn one way.
Feel your body lean over to one side and turn the handlebars.
Now let's turn the other way. Lean your body over, making a smooth turn.
Pedal, pedal, pedal. But hey. We don't have to pedal just around here.
This bike is in our imaginations. We can pedal pedal anywhere we like.
How about... A mountain. Ooh, that's fun.
Let's imagine a big... Big mountain ahead of us.
It's so big I can barely see the top. Can we ride all the way up there?
Let's push off and start to pedal. Pedal.
Pedal. Whew, there's a long climb to the top.
Feel your feet pushed down. We're almost there!
Pedal! Pedal! And... We made it! Wow, we rode our bikes all the way to the tippy top of the mountain.
We can see everything from up here. I can imagine I see all the little houses in the park and a big crowd of people on bicycles.
Oh, it looks like a bicycle race. And I can imagine I see the whole route.
There's turns and curves and ups and downs and a big finish line.
That looks fun. Let's go see if we can join.
Well, we'll have to go down the mountain first.
Let's go! It's a lot easier going down. We're going so fast!
Can you move your feet in circles, pedaling round and round super fast?
Let's slow down now. We're almost at the start of the bicycle race.
We made it! And it looks like the race is just about to start.
Are you ready to race, friends? Let's listen for the word go.
That means it's time to start, but don't go until you hear that word.
Not yet. Hold it. Almost. Waiting. We're patient as we're waiting.
Waiting, waiting, sometimes we have to wait.
On your mark? Get set! Go! There's the special word!
Let's go! There's lots of people riding their bikes with us now.
Let's go fast so we can win the race! Petal!
Petal! Petal! Petal harder so we can go faster!
Petal! Petal! Petal! Petal! I'm pedaling as hard as I can!
But the other bikes are going past. I'm not going fast enough.
I'm getting tired. I can't pedal anymore.
I think I need to stop. Oh no, we're losing the race!
It's okay to feel frustrated, Katie. I know.
When I'm feeling big feelings I stop and see How the big feelings are feeling in me I feel disappointed and frustrated, but I know we should take a rest.
We did just ride up a big mountain. Let's rest and have some water.
And a little snack. I'm gonna have a banana.
I'll have an apple. I like to eat, eat, eat apples and bananas.
I feel a bit better already. Maybe we can try again?
Let's get back on the bike! When you wanna give up, try again Keep on riding, keep on riding I'm ready, let's pedal, pedal, pedal We can do it now.
When you wanna give up, try again. Keep on riding, keep on riding.
Now there's a big turn coming up. Let's lean to one side and go around the bend.
Pedal, pedal, pedal. Now there's a hill.
We can do it. I imagine there's people up ahead cheering us on.
They're saying go, go, go. Can you imagine hearing them in your mind?
Let's finish the race. When you wanna give up, try again.
Keep on riding, keep on riding. I see the finish line, it's up ahead.
Can you see it? We're getting closer. And paddle, paddle, paddle.
We did it! We finished! Yes! I'm so glad we took the time to rest and then try it again.
I feel very proud that we finished. And I feel very tired.
I imagine my legs feel really tired. How do your legs feel? like noodles.
Yeah, they feel jiggly. We did a lot of pretend pedaling. and our imagination adventure is almost done.
So let's take our bikes for one more ride in our minds as we head back home.
I like to ride my bicycle I ride it everywhere Anywhere you need to go A bike can take you there That was a really exciting imaginary bike ride I love riding my bike, even if it's just using my imagination.
We'll have more imagination time together soon.
Until then, it's time to say goodbye. Goodbye.
