Listen for the sounds Listen listen listen Hello Hello, Hello.
Listen everyone, listen and play.
Where are we today?
We're outside in the garden.
Yes, today I'm outside looking for tiny creatures here in my garden.
Creepy crawlies like ladybirds, spiders, worms.
We're at the very end of the garden where there's a special building.
Do you know what it is?
It's called a... Shed.
It's a wooden shed.
That's right.
It's the garden shed.
Now, right beside the shed there's a piece of wood that's been cut from a tree.
Do you know what it's called?
Can you put these sounds together and make a word?
L-o-g.
L-o-g.
Log.
It's a big log.
That's right, it's a log.
And I've come to look at it because logs can be a great place to find little creatures.
Ah, here's one.
It's some kind of b-u. bug.
It's a creepy crawly bug.
Today's song is about some creepy crawly bugs and other garden creatures.
I'm sure you know this tune.
Join in and sing along with me.
Three ladybugs, three ladybugs, see how they crawl, see how they crawl.
They all went off to the ladybug ball to dance around in a great big hall.
Did you ever see a thing like it at all as three ladybugs?
Two wriggly worms, two wriggly worms.
See how they crawl, see how they crawl.
They both went off to the ladybug ball to dance around in a grey big hall.
Did you ever see a thing like it at all as two wriggly worms, one buzzy fly, one buzzy fly.
See how he flew, see how he flew.
So he went off to the ladybug ball to dance around in a great big hall.
Did you ever see a thing like it at all?
Has one buzzy fly, two wriggly.
Listen listen, listen.
It's rhyme time.
Here are two rhymes about spiders.
I'm sure you know the first one.
Listen.
Incy wincy spider climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.
So Winty, Winty Spider climbed up the spout again.
Under a web beside a gate, the spider hangs.
His legs are eight.
And buzzing by is a bumblebee.
Six black and furry legs has she.
Tabby Cat goes leaping past.
Her four legs carry her so fast.
I've only two, and that isn't many.
But Mr Worm, he hasn't any.
Listen, listen, listen in Storytime.
In our story today, there's a bug who wants to have a party and a spider who climbs a spout.
He's the spider from our rhyme, Incy Wincy.
Shh!
Listen, listen.
The story's called Huggy Bug.
Once upon a party time, there was a bug called Huggy Bug.
She'd just moved home and she wanted all her friends to come and see it.
So she had sent party invitations to them all.
She clapped her hands and said, When my friends all come, we'll have fun, fun, fun!
Huggybug's new home was a snug hole in the wall of the house.
Next to the hole was a big water spout.
On the day of the party, she made delicious things to eat and drink.
Then she blew up lots and lots of big balloons.
She jumped up and down happily.
When my friends all come, we'll have fun, fun, fun.
But suddenly she remembered something ghastly and gasped, Oh no!
I haven't told anyone where it is!
How could her friends come if they didn't know where the party was?
She sat down on a stone and cried, What a silly bug am I!
A house spider who lived nearby called Incy Wincy heard her crying.
What's up? he asked.
Huggy Bug explained everything between glugging sobs.
When she'd finished, Incy Wincy gave her a big hug.
Oh, don't worry, he said.
I'll tie some of your balloons to the top of this water spout.
That way, your friends will know where you live.
Huggy Bug stopped crying and smiled.
And when my friends all come, we'll have... Fun, fun, fun!
So...
Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed poor Incy out.
And the balloons all flew away.
Poor Huggy Bug started to cry again.
Oh no!
What shall I do?
Oh, don't worry, said Incy Wincy.
There are plenty more balloons.
I'll tie some to the top of the water spout.
Then your friends will know where you live.
Huggy Bug stopped crying and smiled.
And when my friends all come, we'll have... Fun, fun, fun!
So...
Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed poor Incy out.
And the balloons all flew away.
Poor Huggy Bug started to glug again.
What shall I do?
Oh, don't worry, said Incy Wincy.
There are still some more balloons left.
I'll tie some to the top of the water spout.
Then your friends will know where you live.
Huggy Bug stopped crying and smiled.
Oh, yeah.
And when my friends all come, we'll have... Fun, fun, fun.
So Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed poor Incy out.
And the balloons all flew away again.
Poor Huggy Bug started to cry again.
Now what shall I do?
Don't worry, said Incy Wincy.
There are plenty more balloons, look.
But when they looked, they saw that all the balloons had blown away.
Poor Huggy Bug didn't know what to do. nor did Incy Wincy.
Then suddenly they heard a knock, knock, knock.
Huggy Bug opened the door.
And there were all her bug friends.
Huggy Bug was amazed.
But how did you all know where to come? she asked.
Oh, it was easy, said Doug the Slug.
We kept seeing balloons flying out of a water spout, so we knew it must be where your party was.
Look, we've brought you a housewarming present, Huggy Bug.
It's a rug to keep you warm and snug.
Huggy Bug jumped up and down and said, Now my friends have come, we'll have fun, fun, fun.
Party, party.
And Huggy Bug gave everyone a big, big hug.
Especially Incy Wincy.
So in the end, Incy Wincy's plan did work and his balloon showed all the other bugs where to go.
Why don't you join in with the actions to our Incy Wincy Spider song?
Incy Wincy spider climbed up the water spout.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.
So Wincy Wincy Spider climbed up the spout again.
Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the water spout Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.
So Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the spout again.
Oh, look there he goes up the spout again.
