I'm at the gym at the moment.
We're back on the bulk.
I got up to like 137, 138.
And yeah, I went back down to about 130.
So back on the bulk.
Got my gallon jug.
We're at the gym.
You know, there's ups and downs to the process with everything.
And that's kind of the premise of the video, just in life in general, I've just been kind of like resetting.
That's a very real part of the process.
And it's something a lot of people in this space don't talk about at all.
You know, and it sets the standard of perfection.
And when you aren't perfect or when you aren't always optimally performing, It leaves you questioning yourself as to why you're not as you expect yourself to be, which is set on false expectations anyways.
So it's like this big illusion, you know, and then you end up getting in your own mind about things.
And one of the hardest lessons I've had to learn along my journey is that downs are just as valuable as the ups.
You know, it's where you kind of shed your skin.
When a reptile sheds its skin, it doesn't move a whole lot, you know.
It kind of sits still for a couple days and it does its thing.
You know it's not a lot of activity going on, but it doesn't mean that it's dying, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it.
It's just going through its natural process, you know, and it comes back with a new layer of skin.
It comes back healthier than before, more energized.
And it carries on, you know?
Continues to do its thing, and that's... I don't think we're any different.
I think we have to shed our skin every once in a while.
Or at least I certainly do.
Oh yeah, I also got a haircut.
Let me know what you guys think.
It's, uh, back to the Brian Moser style.
I get that comment just about every day of my life.
I've learned to embrace it.
I like this.
The super long hair, it's a bit more maintenance.
It was getting a little bit too much.
I really had an afro if I didn't do anything with my hair.
Afro doesn't suit me.
I cut my hair a little bit shorter.
And it's October, guys.
I haven't spoken to you since September something.
We're in October.
This is thriving season.
This is my favorite time of the year.
Better than Christmas.
No arguments.
Better than Christmas.
It's just a fact.
That is the only objective truth that I can define as a human being.
October, fall, autumn season is better than Christmas. um fall festivities halloween festivities horror movies haunted attractions pumpkin picking apple orchards i mean come on you know like it just doesn't get much better than that and we're here you know we're here so you know i'm at the gym and i'm hitting leg day and i'm hydrated and i'm full with good food so life's great right now and i got on the uh i got this from goodwill actually and it reminded me of what's his name from dexter as well dexter that's his name so we're in it you know what i mean i wanted to speak to you really quick we're gonna speak a little bit more after i'm done the gym i promise you but like recording during this time of the day because it's super just chill in my vibe and the sun goes down super quick so i was hitting my uh hamstrings and i'm like dude the sun's going down i gotta speak to my people so here we are i've been you know people have been wondering tyson where was the upload i'm here i promise you you'll be fine i believe in you we got this It's a new day.
I'm actually on campus right now.
And I don't even know if a lot of you guys know that I go to university.
But I do.
And you might ask why.
You know, I get a lot of people that ask me, like, should I go to college?
Should I go to uni?
I don't know if it's worth it.
And my answer to that is you don't have to pay for it and you don't already have something that's like really working for you?
Just go.
You know i go because it doesn't take up too much of my time.
I come twice a week, i don't pay for it and um, i just like being on campus.
Something switched in me like a couple years ago, where I just started to like to learn.
I like to be in the classroom, I like to be on campus, I like to be in the library.
I think that's a really good skill to have.
Don't hate college because your favorite business gurus tell you to hate it.
Come here to learn, come here to meet people, network, if it makes sense for you.
If you're paying 15000 a semester, definitely don't do it unless you absolutely need to.
Like you want to be a doctor, you're in stem um, but i like it, you know, and it's kind of like a reset.
I don't have to um, you know, i have time dedicated in my week to just learning and being in the classroom and studying.
That'll be a very valuable skill for me the rest of my life.
So I value it.
But to kind of continue what we were talking about before with the ups and downs, you know, and getting through them, it's not even I shouldn't even say getting through them, because really you should learn to love, love them.
You know it's a love-hate thing, because how can you Like the down times, the bad times, the ruts, like they're bad because they feel bad?
Like you don't love them in the moment, you know what I mean?
But like I said, they're a very real part of the process.
So given that they're inevitable because everybody, I don't care who it is, everybody goes through a rut.
Everybody has down times, okay?
So why beat ourselves up about it?
You know if it's really something that's ultimately out of our control.
You know like it just doesn't make sense.
So how can we learn to coexist?
How can we learn to not shame ourselves or like get down on ourselves during those times and just accept it for what it is?
So healing or bettering yourself doesn't always look like pure action.
It might look like a whole lot of nothing for a little bit.
And this whole mental aspect of like oh, i'm weak, i'm losing control, i'm whatever, that's just kind of an illusion that you created in your head.
You might just have to sit still for a little bit.
Sometimes it's all you have to do and it's in your best interest not to like be your own greatest enemy in those moments.
You know you're like punishing yourself for for going through what is necessary for you to grow.
It's like it doesn't really make sense, But this took me a long time to learn a very very, very long time.
And I'm still learning that, you know, like I'm not perfect at it.
I've gotten a lot better for certain.
And so what is that resulted in my life?
Well, greater development, greater development.
The more I get out of my own head when I'm in a rut, quicker i bounce off of it, the the the quicker i get out of that state.
And well, why is that?
Well, like i said, you create this illusion in your head, and when you identify with these weak thoughts, like i'm losing control or i'm not as whatever as i thought i was, then that's exactly what you'll be, and so you'll.
You'll embody that identity that you tell yourself, and And so you prolong this state, this rut that you're in.
Whereas if you were to get yourself out of your own head and just recognize okay, I'm in a rut right now.
I'm not performing as optimally or as consistently as I usually do or as I would like to.
But we're here right now, you know, and I'm definitely not giving up, going to continue to try my best, but i may fall short.
You know more, more often than than i might want to.
You know i might wake up later, i might skip a few more days in the gym and every motivational or fitness or whatever guru out there will tell you like no, these are.
You know that's weak, that is that is.
You know that's wrong.
But it's like man.
You look at any stock chart, any stock chart, the s p 500, the greatest performing stock, long term, right s p.
You know you look at it all time and it goes up like this, exponential.
Okay, but you look at it on the day, the week sometimes, the month sometimes, and it's down.
It has red days, it has red weeks, it has red months.
Does that mean it's a bad stock?
Does that mean it's a weak stock?
No, absolutely not.
It's a natural part of growth.
Like it's just a law of the universe.
So why am I turning on myself in those moments?
That I know are inevitable.
It doesn't make sense.
It just doesn't make sense.
But no one talks about this stuff.
It's like... No one talks about it.
And... It's really a shame.
Because I think it leaves a lot of people in their own heads when they don't need to be.
Just focus on the action.
Focus on... You know, zoom out a little bit.
Like have you progressed?
Zoom out and think back a year from now.
Are you a net positive from a year ago?
If so great, then we're improving you.
Look back a year and you'll probably be like man, my life was way different.
I was way different, you know.
I was in a way different stage of life and i've accomplished so much since then, you know.
But maybe if you zoom in on the week, it's like i feel like crap and i'm not.
I'm not like, i'm inconsistent, like i'm not the gym as much, I'm not, I'm not waking up at the right times, I'm not eating right.
Like it happens man, like it just happens.
Okay, it's now.
It's another thing to stay in that state for a prolonged period of time, longer than that is necessary.
So it's a balance.
It's a balance.
But ruts on their own don't mean, don't determine your identity.
It doesn't mean that you shifted into this weak stated or weak-minded individual or you're any less of a person or less can less, less capable than you were.
You know what i really want to leave you guys with what i really want the message of this video to be.
As is it.
If you're in a rut, you know, if you're in a downtime and you think back to maybe a month ago or a few months ago or maybe even just a week ago, you're like man, I was dialed in.
You know, I was consistent, I was this, I was that.
You know like, why can't I just be that all the time?
What you're asking for is literally perfection.
And I think, you know, the answer to this question, is that realistic?
Absolutely not.
We need to be willing to strive for perfection knowing that we'll never obtain it.
And find a balance within that that allows us to be better and better.
That allows us to keep looking forward, to keep progressing, to keep developing.
But just enjoy the process, you know, and recognize your growth for what it is.
You know, you're moving.
That's the, we're moving, okay?
Okay, the memory just ran out on the card, but be moving.
Don't be stagnant.
Stagnant is a universally bad thing.
If our bodies become stagnant, our muscles and our bones become weak and fragile.
If water is stagnant, you get dead water.
Dead water's got this brain-eating, flesh-eating bacteria.
It's terrible.
You let air sit still with no air flow.
There's no movement.
You get dead air.
You get spores and mold.
Stagnation is universally just a bad thing.
It's a universal law.
And so mentally you don't want to be stagnant.
Physically you don't want to be stagnant.
Spiritually you don't want to be stagnant.
If you're moving in all those areas of life, my friend, you are winning.
If you're moving, you're winning.
The only way you lose is if you give up, if you stop moving.
Even if you're moving in the wrong direction for a period of time, you're moving.
And if you're moving, that means you're trying.
You care.
You care and you're trying to move towards something.
You might not know exactly how to do it or where to go or what, but you're doing it.
You're moving your own two feet and you should be proud of yourself for that.
So I love you all.
Thank you for your time.
And I will see you soon.
