Welcome to this special Christmas-themed episode of Super Simple Imagination Time with Katie!
It's inspired by the super simple song Gingerbread House.
Here we go! It's good to be with you my friend.
Hello. Hello. I'm glad we're together again We got Zack on the keys Katie singing la la la la la We'll have some fun in our imagination Go on adventures again and again Hello Hello, it's good to be with you my friend Hello, hello, and Ho Ho Ho!
Welcome to Imagination Time! I'm Katie, and this is Zach.
Those are some nice Christmassy sounds on the piano's act.
Today, we are going to be getting into the Christmas spirit with a very fun holiday tradition.
Decorating a gingerbread house. There are so many ways to decorate a gingerbread house.
But most of the time, it involves yummy candies.
All sorts of candies, all different colors and shapes, and icing to stick it all together.
Don't forget about the gingerbread! Of course!
Big pieces of gingerbread cookies come together to make the walls and the roof of the house.
And anything else you can think of. It's a lot of fun and very delicious.
The gingerbread house will be decorating is inside our imaginations.
So before we begin, let's take a moment to clear our minds and make lots of room for our imaginary gingerbread creations.
Are you ready, Zach? Ready, Katie? Are you ready, friends?
Let's take a deep breath altogether. In one, two, three, hold it Out three, two, one Let's take a moment to listen to the sounds we hear.
I hear Zach's piano. I think he's in the Christmas spirit.
Let's jingle, jingle our fingers and give them a wiggle.
And jingle, jingle our toes. Maybe you can feel the Christmas spirit too.
From the top of your head, all the way down to your tippy toes.
Close your eyes and let's take one more deep breath.
Maybe you can imagine you smell gingerbread coming out of the oven.
In one, two, three, hold it. Out three, two, one.
We're ready to make our imaginary gingerbread house!
Let's make a gingerbread house with a gingerbread door Gingerbread walls and a gingerbread floor A gingerbread roof and a gingerbread chimney A gingerbread yard with a gingerbread tree Can you see your gingerbread house?
I imagine it's sitting on a table, all ready to decorate.
There are lots of other fun things on the table, too.
Candies, chocolates, icing, so many things we can use to make our gingerbread house super special.
Where do we begin? Let's start with the gingerbread roof.
Great idea. We can pick up the bag of icing.
Ooh, I imagine it feels squishy in my hands.
Well, gently squeeze out some blobs of icing onto the roof.
And how about a long line of icing all the way around the edges?
The top? The sides? and the bottom. Now we can add some candies.
I imagine I have a big bowl of colorful jelly beans.
I can use it to make a pattern across the roof.
How about red? yellow, green, and blue.
To make a pattern, we just keep doing the same colors in order.
Red, yellow, green, blue. Red, yellow, green, blue.
Red, yellow, green. Our gingerbread roof is looking great.
So colorful. How about our gingerbread yard?
Let's add some fun stuff there. I'm going to imagine adding in some big candy canes.
Sticking up like trees. I'm going to add a candy cane mailbox.
That's a fun idea! Candy canes can be all sorts of different things when we use our imaginations.
What will your candy canes be? It can be anything when you're imagining Anything you want to see, imagine with me I imagine my gingerbread house is looking excellent.
Oh, but it's missing something. the door.
It needs a doorknob, of course. Let's see.
What candy could be used as a doorknob? Hmm, I'm thinking of that Thinking a lot, hmm We need an idea Let's work with the what we've got Hey, how about a gumball?
Yeah, it's nice and round. It would make a great doorknob.
Let's squeeze one last bit of icing onto the door.
And add our gumball doorknob. Our gingerbread house is complete!
It sure would be fun to be able to go through that gingerbread door.
Can you imagine living inside a gingerbread house?
Yeah, we can imagine anything. That's right.
Okay. Let's imagine. our gingerbread house getting bigger and bigger growing taller and wider taking up the whole room until it's all around us.
Wow! Take a look around in your imagination.
Do you see it? It's a gingerbread world!
Look around, look around and see what can be found Wow.
I imagine the candy canes now are so tall.
They reach up over my head, just like real trees.
Ooh, everything smells so amazing. Just like gingerbread.
What do you imagine you smell in this delicious world?
Hey, I imagine something's falling from the sky.
It looks like snow. Snowflake, snowflake, little snowflake.
But it's not cold like snow. It's fluttering and falling onto the big jelly beans on our gingerbread roof.
Can you see it in your imagination? Hey, I think I know what it is.
I'm gonna stick up my tongue and taste it.
Yum! It's icing sugar! You know, I bet everything around here is gonna be tasty.
Let's get out of the sugar snow and go inside the gingerbread house.
The gumball doorknob is now as big as my hand.
Let's turn it and step inside. Wow! What do you imagine you see?
I see a chocolate bar staircase! Whoa! With a pretzel railing!
Ooh, and look at this chair. It's made entirely out of gingerbread.
Oh, I imagine it feels really hard when I sit on it.
I guess not all gingerbread is soft. That's okay.
I'll just grab one of these pillows made out of marshmallow.
That's better. There's so much gingerbread everywhere!
I have a gingerbread clock by my gingerbread plant Gingerbread books and a gingerbread lamp A gingerbread fire placed with gingerbread logs A gingerbread bone for my gingerbread dog A gingerbread dog Do you think there's a gingerbread dog in this gingerbread house?
Let's try calling it and see. Oh, gingerbread dog!
Here, doggy doggy! Oh, I imagine I hear barking.
There it is! Hello, gingerbread dog! I think I'll call you Ginger.
I have a pet. It is a dog. And it goes wuff, wuff, wuff, wuff, wuff.
Wuff, wuff. Here's a gingerbread bone for you, ginger.
Ooh, I imagine Ginger likes the gingerbread bone very much.
Hey, do you think we could try some of the gingerbread around here?
The gingerbread bookshelf does look pretty tasty.
And the candy books are all different colors.
Let's try it. We can reach out and take a big bite.
Do you like bookshelves? Yes, I do. Yes, I do.
I like it when it's made out of gingerbread and candy.
Mm-hmm. Delicious. Christmas is almost here.
We better get back. Everyone will wonder where we went to.
I think it's time to imagine our gingerbread house back on the table. with regular-sized jelly beans and regular-sized candy canes.
Let's imagine everything getting smaller and smaller. shrinking around us until we're big and the house is small again.
There. We really made a beautiful gingerbread house, didn't we?
It sure is nice to look at. And it's fun to imagine living inside it too.
