Beyond the science and economics, there is the crucial question of consumer acceptance. Many people perceive lab-grown meat as unnatural and express concerns about its long-term health effects. There is also the sensory hurdle: current iterations often lack the fat content found in traditional meat, leading to a taste profile that many find unsatisfactory.

However, the industry is moving forward at full speed. With billions of dollars in investment, companies like Eat Just are betting on a future where cultured meat becomes a standard menu item.
