📋 Summary

The Vision: Crafting an Old-World Sanctuary

After three years of meticulous planning, designing, and permitting, the creator provides an intimate tour of her 1,900-square-foot home nestled in the mountains. Drawing inspiration from a local, early 1900s schoolhouse, she aimed to build an "old world traditional looking home" that feels inherently cozy rather than following the modern "open concept" trend. Every design choice, from the narrow, dramatic doors inspired by European architecture to the strategic placement of windows, was crafted to maximize both aesthetic beauty and functionality for her filming needs.

Main Floor: Functionality Meets Lifestyle

The ground floor is designed to balance daily living with the practicalities of mountain life. The kitchen, described as the heart of the home, features a U-shaped layout with a central island specifically positioned to capture "nice point of view" shots for her content. A notable addition is the mudroom, a space born from the necessity of managing the "dust and mud" of mountain living. This room will house a commercial-grade bread oven, marking the start of her new bakery venture, alongside laundry facilities to manage the "dirtiness involved with this life."

The Upstairs: A Haven for Connection

Moving upstairs, the house transitions into a space designed for community and personal restoration. The creator emphasizes the importance of hosting, noting that after six years of living in a 180-square-foot space, the ability to welcome friends and family is "life changing." The guest bedroom will finally allow her to host loved ones, alleviating the isolation of being "an hour away from the town." The master bedroom stands out as the "most beautiful room in the whole house," featuring "cathedral ceilings" that feel "extraordinary." The inclusion of a bathtub with a view of the mountains is a significant upgrade for someone who has spent years "going to the bathroom in the dirt."

Philosophy of Growth and Consistency

Interwoven with the tour is a deeper reflection on personal development. The creator challenges the cultural obsession with "reinventing ourselves" through quick-fix New Year's resolutions. Drawing a parallel between building a house and building a life, she argues that "the biggest changes" come from "small, consistent habits over time"—such as meditation, journaling, and spending time outdoors. This philosophy of sustainable, incremental progress mirrors the long, arduous construction process of her home, which is nearing completion with the final stages of "insulation" and "drywall" underway.

Conclusion: A New Chapter

As the project nears the finish line—with an expected move-in date by the end of the summer—the creator expresses profound gratitude. Moving from a space the size of a "closet" into this intentional, custom-built home represents more than just a change of address; it is a manifestation of her creative vision and a commitment to a lifestyle that values comfort, community, and the beauty of a slower, more deliberate existence.
