Easy English expression rehashed.
Hello, everybody.
My name is Coach Shane, and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Coach Shane here.
How you doing?
We have a very nice expression that you can use to somebody when they give you good news.
EQ number 344.
Don't forget our community, school.com slash LME.
Enjoy.
Let's go back in time.
Today's expression is great.
It is more power to you.
More power to you.
More power to you.
That's it.
More power to you.
What does this expression mean?
It means congratulations and keep going.
Keep growing.
Keep improving.
Keep doing better.
You're doing a great job.
Congratulations.
More power to you.
So if your friend tells you I got a promotion or I lost some weight or I have something, I don't know, I got married or something good, and you're happy for your friend, you can say wow, more power to you.
More power to you.
It's a great expression.
Check out a dialogue.
You look good.
Exercising?
Walking.
I'm up to three miles a day.
Oh, great.
More power to you.
Thanks.
My goal is six.
Isn't that nice?
Exercising, just walking.
But walking is so good.
And if you walk every day, it will show.
You will look healthier.
You'll look good.
So this person is walking up to three miles a day.
I'm up to three miles a day.
That means the person is improving and now is walking three miles a day.
That's five kilometers.
Great.
More power to you.
Because the person said I'm up to three miles a day, that means I was at one mile a day.
Then I was at two miles a day.
Now I'm up to three miles a day.
So we say, oh, more power to you.
You're doing great.
Congratulations on your achievement.
Keep going.
Keep being strong.
More power to you.
Therefore, the person said, thanks.
My goal is six.
My goal is six miles a day, which is about 10 kilometers.
Isn't that great?
So the other day we were talking about smoking.
Yeah.
And, you know, some people might be starting to quit.
I hope so.
There was even a question.
Somebody on Facebook.
Who was it?
Ah, yes.
I have the same problem to quit smoking.
Tell me how you succeeded today.
Well, there's really no secret.
But I did do this.
I started reducing the amount of cigarettes that I could smoke.
So usually I smoked a pack a day, 20 cigarettes.
And then I changed to 19.
And I did that for like three days.
19 was easy.
Then I changed to 18.
I did that for a couple of days.
No problem.
Then I changed that.
I kept going down, down, down.
Now, I got all the way down to about nine cigarettes a day.
Nine cigarettes a day, no problem.
But from that point on, I never went lower.
Now, nine cigarettes is pretty good.
You might say, hey, good for you.
Keep it up.
More power to you.
But when I was at nine cigarettes a day, nobody said more power to you.
So I started smoking more and more and more.
And then one day, Lawrence, and this is specifically to you, I just said, boom, that's it.
And I stopped.
And I was successful.
It was magic.
I can't believe it.
Yeah, something magical happened.
And boom, I was able to just stop and never go back.
Yeah.
So it was good.
So Lawrence, if you're really trying to quit smoking, more power to you.
I'm giving you some energy, some power.
I hope that that helps you.
So everybody out there, if you're trying to do something, learn English, lose weight, quit smoking, be nicer to people or be cleaner.
If you're trying to do something and you're doing it, you're starting.
Well, hey, more power to you.
More power to you.
Keep doing it.
Another guy, Max Ezer, I think it's Ezer or Ezer.
He says Shane, I'm learning with your E cubed and I'm adding some of the words and expressions to the Anki stacks.
Is it good?
Is it a good idea?
Absolutely.
If Anki Stacks is something that you like to use, is it Anki or Anki?
I think it's Anki.
Then do it.
Add these expressions, add this vocabulary to Anki Stacks and it will definitely help you.
So Max, more power to you too.
Everybody.
If you're out there doing something and you all are you're all studying English.
More power to you.
Do it.
Nothing is standing in your way.
Unless you have a bad internet connection.
Then the internet might be standing in your way.
More power to you.
Have a great day and have a great Sunday.
Take care, everybody.
You look good.
Exercising?
Walking.
I'm up to three miles a day.
Oh, great.
More power to you.
Thanks.
My goal is six.
You look good.
Exercising?
Walking.
I'm up to three miles a day.
Oh, great.
More power to you.
Thanks.
My goal is six.
Thanks so much for listening.
