Three, two, one.
This is Angela from Emerson School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Thank you for listening to the Eagles V Presents.
This week we will be discussing basically like a time capsule of like what's popular now, so like we can look back on it in the future.
And that sounds like a great topic.
We hope you enjoy the Eagles V Presents this week.
Here are this week's panelists.
Dottie.
Ellie, and Thea.
Some things that I think are trending right now are like the 6-7 meme, which is so stupid because it means absolutely nothing.
Yeah, and, like, Roblox games, like Steal a Brain Rotten Grow a Garden.
Oh my god, and then, like, 99 Nights in the Forest is such a trending game.
I love that game. and also like, sorry, six, seven is like, um it's it's kind of also like it kind of makes everyone a hypocrite because whenever one person sees six seven and then everyone else rolls their eyes and then they're like don't say six and the next seven the person who did it before was like ew why are you saying six seven oh my gosh and then they say six seven like it's I mean, it's... You literally, like...
It's like, no, but guys, because I can't like restrain yourself from it.
You just have to say it.
What did like six, seven even come from?
Like where?
I think it's from like a song.
I don't know what the title is.
I'm actually very well knowledge on it or something.
Lululemon.
All of us.
The size to Lulu lemon shorts.
Everybody wears those, everybody has those, everyone has a wallahs these days, but I feel like most of the companies, I have a wallahs oh my gosh, those are such a thing.
But I like a wallahs better cause like, the colors are like really cute, though I always lose my a wallah like I like it.
It's a little old though, but like i don't know why, i just always lose my water bottle.
Like well, the wallows are like more practical too, because they look actually like shut with, like the.
I'm more of like a hydro flask person.
I feel like hydro flasks were actually the og.
Yeah well, those were.
I have cutting like 2016.
I feel like yeah, i have a stanley, i have a hydro flask and i have an awala because i am a free falling along with the popular things here.
Ellie, what following along with the popular things here, i see okay, not just because they're popular, but i actually think like, oh well, this is a good way to express yourself because there's like unique, there's like colors yeah, and they have a bunch of different varieties.
Yeah, it's cool that they have like a lot of.
I think is really popular right now are like the adidas, gazelles and sambas oh my god last year, and uggs oh my god.
Oh, i'm wearing uggs right now, like i'm buying uggs this year.
Yeah, i'm wearing uggs right now.
Slang oh my god, you know like six, seven and like yeah like yeah, chopped and and like Huzz.
We should explain each... Find shite.
We should... Wait, can we say that?
Probably.
It's shite.
People won't know.
Where's the huzz?
Where's the huzz at?
Um, yeah.
I'm like... Um, we should... So, like, Chopped?
Chopped means, like, shit.
Chopped means ugly, basically.
Yeah, or, like... And then Feinsheit means just someone that you find attractive.
Guys, we have our, like, own language at this point.
Yeah.
Literally.
It's kind of weird.
And Saibao.
And Saibao.
Saibao.
Saibao.
We don't need to explain something of that.
I think we're gonna find like some phone that was set in resin or something a thousand million years from now.
I'm gonna go to their text messages, try to decode our language and be like what does saibao mean?
It just no, guys.
I have the guys.
I have this theory that i have this theory that in the future we're just gonna like speak and like abbreviations like saibao or like fyp or like lol yeah, brb and stuff like that.
The next generation is cooks.
Wait, oh yeah guys.
Cook is like another word.
It's like it's like you're, you're in for it, kind of, or yeah.
But then if there's cook as like, the verb is like, cooking is like yeah, cooking is like.
Cooking means that like you're doing, like good cooked means that like you're done yeah, and locked in is like focused yeah, like locking guys, oh yeah, like i feel like good job on your math homework.
You really locked in it, doesn't?
It doesn't mean the like You're in for it cooks.
It means that, like, you did good, cooks.
Yeah.
So there's, like, multiple ways to, like, use the same word.
Yeah, it's pretty confusing.
Cooked for, like, in for it has to be future tense to make it, like, actually work.
Hi, this is Gwen from Emerson School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Thank you for listening to the Eagles View Presents.
Here are this week's panelists.
Sophie.
I'm Bella.
And we're all from seventh grade.
Should school start later?
Okay, that's one of our questions that we were about to ask.
Should school start later?
Gwen, what do you think?
No.
No, I feel like I like our time frame, because if school did start later, then we would have to end later and I have a lot of stuff.
I actually agree with that because I like to get home as early as I can and just be at home.
Like I do love sleeping in, but I think if school started any earlier than it does, I think that'd be too early.
Mm-hmm.
But I think we're at a pretty good time.
Yeah, I think it's, like, perfect right now.
Okay, so I think that we should... Girl.
Oh, my God.
I think we should, um, have it start at, like, nine.
Maybe some days.
Girl.
Nine.
Like, I would think maybe a Friday's, like, at the start of nine.
Or maybe, like, a Wednesday.
Like, Mondays.
Mondays.
No, when... Yeah, maybe Mondays.
Yeah, maybe Mondays, because, like, the start of the week... I hate Mondays.
But also... They suck.
Yeah, Mondays.
Maybe we could start at 9 on Mondays because you're probably so tired.
Yes.
Another question.
Is assigned seating beneficial?
I think in some ways.
Yeah.
If like, if you like, you know that like these two kids like talk a lot, like when they're sitting next to each other and then they're not focusing on what the teacher is talking about or getting their stuff done, then I think it could be beneficial.
But I don't think.
Everyone needs to get assigned seating just because two people are not behaving well.
I like the strategy where you're allowed to choose your seat at the beginning of the year and if you or someone in your group is misbehaving, everything doesn't change, only that specific table.
Like not what the kids change.
Yeah, what the kids will change.
Hi, this is Angela from Emerson School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Thank you for listening to the Eagles We Presents.
This week, we will be discussing if homework is beneficial for school systems.
Here are this week's panelists.
This is really controversial, I guess, but I feel like we should give more work to younger kids than to older kids, and so this is why.
Because, like when you're like younger, I'm like You're like Mine is like a lot more open to new, To like new information.
So, like, then you can, like, get a lot more out of, like, learning.
Whereas, like, now, like...
It kind of just, like, goes in, like, one ear and comes out the other because we have so much work.
I mostly agree with that, but also sometimes, like I mean, I have a little brother, so I think when I see him doing his homework because at his school he gets homework at his age i find it's like hard for him to focus, and like his classmates too, and so i feel like for younger kids it could be harder for them to focus.
Yeah, also like when you're older, like some of the information that he gets like more important than like what you learn at a very young age.
Like i don't know, like Just maybe, like I don't know, like I don't know.
I don't think today.
Does someone else want to say something?
Like we come here for seven hours a day, five days a week just to learn.
And seven times five is, like, 35, right?
So we get, like, 35 hours of, like, learning a week.
And like we don't need like more than that because like then we're just going to get them like bored and we're not going to like take in like what we're learning anymore because we got, because we've gotten like too much of it.
Yeah, and it's basically like I mean it's good to still maybe kind of practice that stuff at home, but if we're getting so much homework, it's like kind of putting the answer away.
It's like oh, school is life, like you live, breathe and like just you like everything revolves around math or like, or like academics and I get academics are like important and stuff like that.
But um, And it's good to know that stuff and know how to use it in the real world.
But I feel like some people don't want their whole life to revolve around academics because that could get in the way of other pursuits, even though academics is really important and stuff like that.
But I feel like we should have just little more like free time, i guess, because we just go to school to learn and we come back to just do even more work, um.
So i think it should be more like homework, should be more like limited than it is right now.
Um, i think that at least a little bit of homework is good Because, like it helps your teacher see where you are at, like without getting help from them.
But I don't think too much is good, because then it's like overwhelming and you might not have enough time to do it.
And I also think that, adding to Angela's point about homework, where it's like you need to have a life
I believe that when you're doing homework, It's like you are in a zone where you can't really have time to do anything else, or if you do, that's just going to make it become later so quickly.
And then I'm like, oh my goodness, where did the time go?
And if you did something else other than homework, then you don't have much time to do the homework.
Then
But it's also just that I think people need to normalize living their life, because isn't it weird that we get more homework when we're younger than we do when we're older?
Because we have more opportunity when we're older, like in college.
We get to like choose what classes we want and don't want to pursue.
That should be how it is now, because I know we're still learning like somewhat like the basics or whatever.
But I feel like there should be a bit more freedom to choose what you want in like high school specifically.
