Here's the news. China has built over 30 ,000 basic -level smart factories as part of a nationwide push to accelerate industrial digitalization and intelligent upgrading.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Initiative, under the Smart Factory Gradient Cultivation Action, has also seen the creation of 1200 advanced level and 230 excellence level smart factories.
This achievement highlights the significant progress that has been made in reshaping the country's manufacturing landscape.
The 230 excellence level factories distributed across all 31 provincial regions in China and covering over 80 % of manufacturing sectors have carried out nearly 2 ,000 advanced scenarios including smart warehousing, AI -powered answered quality inspections and digital research and development.
On average, these factories are 28 % shorter in product development cycles, 22 % higher in production efficiency 50 % lower in defect rates and 20 % lower in carbon emissions.
The Ministry, alongside five other state agencies, jointly launched a smart factory gradient event cultivation action last year and classified smart factories into four tiers based on technological maturity and integration depth.
Namely, the basic level, the advanced level, the excellence level, and the pioneer level.
For instance, basic level smart factories are required to develop foundational capabilities in digitization and networking.
This involves deploying the necessary smart manufacturing equipment, industrial software, and systems centered around typical scenarios of smart manufacturing.
By doing so, they can achieve real -time data collection, automation of key production processes, enhance the informatization of production and operational management, and utilize intelligence exploration in certain aspects.
Moving forward, the Ministry has vowed to expand excellence -level Smart Factory promotion and prepare to launch pioneer level cultivation, aiming to further promote the expansion, deeper integration, and elevated evolution of intelligent manufacturing.
This is Special English Chinese scientists have developed a prototype for a new class of aerial and terrestrial around 300 grams, about the same as an apple.
The robot can roll on the ground and take flight to pass over obstacles.
It was created by a research team at the Harbin Institute of Technology.
The team has developed multiple versions of the aerial and terrestrial robot, achieving an endurance time six times longer than similar sized unmanned aerial vehicles.
These robots can be used to perform tasks such as monitoring, probing, and maintenance.
They can be adapted to different terrains and equipped with manipulators to perform screwing or pressing actions.
Zhang Lixian, a professor at the Institute, said that the prototype design is now completed adding that compared with existing Mars flight vehicles, the robot of aerial and terrestrial cross -domain capability will achieve better performance in terms of functionality and endurance.
Zhang expressed hopes that the robot could be applied into exploration tasks in underground environments such as coal mines, pipeline corridors, and subways.

China will launch a nationwide initiative to tag and protect ancient and notable trees, reinforcing their status as green national treasures and living cultural relics.
According to a senior official of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the move follows the enactment of China's first national level regulations to protect ancient and notable trees which will come into effect on March 15.
Jiang Liming, director of the administration's Ecological Protection and Restoration Department, said that the regulations align with China's broader goals of building an ecological civilization and preserving cultural identity.
The regulations establish legal frameworks for resource surveys, conservation, and cultural preservation, as well as penalties for damaging these natural assets, addressing gaps in existing laws.
According to the regulations, ancient trees are those that are over 100 years old.
Notable trees, which hold historical historical or cultural importance play a crucial role in biodiversity, cultural heritage, and ecological sustainability.
A national survey conducted from 2015 to 2021 identified 5 .08 million ancient and notable trees in China.
The survey results showed that the majority of China's solitary ancient trees are aged between a hundred and two hundred and ninety -nine years and notably ten thousand seven hundred and forty five trees are over a thousand years, five trees over five thousand years.
The regulations permit limited scientific and cultural utilization of these resources, such as genetic studies and ecotourism, provided the tree's health is not compromised.
According to Zhang, authorities will conduct another national survey to update tree databases, – implement a Smart Management system for one tree, one file monitoring – and mandate uniform tagging and tailored protective measures.
In addition, efforts should also be made to explore funding mechanisms, including insurance schemes and central fiscal support while advancing research on conservation technologies.
This is Special English Chinese researchers have discovered a new new insect species in a wetland in Guangzhou, in South China's Guangdong Province.
According to the Guangdong Academy of Sciences, the new species was found during an insect Project monitoring and investigation project carried out in the haiju wetland, which began in 2020.
The findings have been published in the International Academic Journal, Zootaxa.
The species, belonging to the order coleoptera, measures 1 .2 to 1 .3 millimeters in length.
Its reddish -brown body is oval and convex both dorseli and ventrally, and its legs are lighter in color.
Yu Ya -Li, an associate researcher at the Academy's Institute of Zoology, said that usually larger insect groups attract more attention and smaller ones are easily overlooked, adding that the discovery enriches species diversity and is of great significance to ecological protection and biological evolution research.
Notably, though most new species are typically found in natural rural habitats, this discovery was made in the Hiju Wetland, which spans an area of 1100 hectares and is located in and the heart of the mega city of Guangzhou.
According to the Haizhou Wetlands Linjirbin, biodiversity research and monitoring work have been on -going since 2012, alongside efforts to create a habitat that supports the survival of various species.
To date, 903 insect species have been documented in the wetland.
