But for now, let's get on with the show.
Woo!
Love sitting here watching the clouds go by.
Don't you, Guy Raz?
It certainly is relaxing.
What does that cloud up there look like to you?
Hmm, cirrus?
No, wait, cirrostratus.
No, not what kind of cloud is it.
I mean, what does the shape of that cloud remind you of?
Huh, well, now that you mention it, it kind of looks like a wind turbine.
Ah, yes, the giant pinwheels of sustainable energy.
Okay, your turn, Mindy.
What does that cloud look like to you?
Oh, that's easy.
That one looks just like a fish playing the ukulele.
Really?
Yeah.
Turn your head to the side and squint a little.
Wow, you're right.
Oh, how about that one over there?
Well, uh, that one looks like a bunch of bowling balls.
It's even dark like a bowling ball.
Wait a minute.
Doesn't a dark cloud usually mean rain? in place.
Physics, biology, and outer space.
Science explorers with our headquarters.
Oh, Dennis.
Here at camp we wow.
Okay, that's enough.
Camp WeWow, the invisible summer camp for science explorers everywhere.
I'm Camp Counselor Guy Raz.
And I have a mosquito bite the size of a goose egg.
You should really get that checked out, Mindy.
Campers.
It is weather week, inspired by our Wow in the World episode, The Curious Case of the Everlasting Storm.
And if you missed it, just go back and listen to yesterday's Camp WeWow.
Today...
We're making do-it-yourself rain clouds in honor of weather in the great outdoors.
But first, here's Dennis with the weather in the great indoors.
Attention, campers.
I come to you live from my private cabin, where it is exactly 68 and 1 half degrees Fahrenheit, the perfect temperature for relaxing on my plush sofa with a glass of purified mineral water.
Oh, that's good.
Now the temperature will go down slightly when I open my mini freezer to get a handcrafted gourmet kiwi lime popsicle.
But my space heater can warm everything right back up.
Wait a minute.
Is it raining in here?
How is water condensing into clouds?
I have a dehumidifier.
Oh, I see my roof is leaking.
Unacceptable.
This is a controlled environment.
Ahem.
Someone come fix my roof.
I can pay you in kiwi-lime popsicles.
Dennis out.
Well, if there's one thing I can say for the great outdoors, it's that you never have to worry about a leaky ceiling.
That's because there are no ceilings in the great outdoors, Mindy.
Exactly.
So they're never a problem.
Anyway, campers, we're going to head over to the auditorium, but first...
Our camp mascot, the Wow Cow, has a fun fact for you.
Hey, fellow Wee Wow campers.
It's your favorite mascot, the Wow Cow.
Did you know that dirt mixed with wind can make dust storms called black blizzards?
And there's more where that came from.
Camp Wee Wow will be right back.
Grownups back home.
This message is for Moo grown-ups.
It's mindy and guy ross here from wow in the world.

Welcome back, campers.
We're here in the auditorium making our very own do-it-yourself rain clouds.
Hang on.
Where'd Mindy go?
I'm here, and I'm covered in mud.
I can see that.
And why are you covered in mud?
Okay, here.
Well, it all started out when Grandma G-Force challenged me to a mud wrestling match.
And for a second there, it looked like I had her pinned, but then she flipped me like this.
No, Mindy, do not touch me when you're all muddy.
Okay, gotcha.
Anywho, I'll give you the play-by-play later.
Let's do this thing.
Okay, well, for this project, we're going to need a glass or a jar.
I've got my trusty mason jar here.
We also need some water blue food coloring and some shaving cream, and make sure it's the old fashioned foamy kind.
Ooh, let me help.
Mindy, please just stay over there and don't touch anything.
Fine.
What's the next step?
Now I'm filling my jar almost all the way up with water, which represents the atmosphere.
You mean the layer of gas that surrounds our planet?
Exactly.
And basically, we're pretending it's the air around the... Mindy, don't touch the jar.
You're going to get mud in it.
Sorry, sorry.
Carry on.
Pretend I'm not even here.
So next, I'm going to carefully add a small layer of shaving cream to the cloud.
And finally, just a few drops of...
I'm serious, Mindy.
Stay back.
I don't want mud on the science experiment.
Sorry.
Sorry.
I forgot.
But the shaving cream on the water really does look like a cloud in the air.
I just want to touch it, Guy Raz.
Do not touch it.
I'm just going to finish this really quickly.
OK.
Put a few drops of food coloring on top, and they'll fall through the cloud like rain.
The end.
OK.
We got through it without anything going wrong.
Great job, Guy Razzi.
Thanks, Mindy.
You better clean off.
Yeah, you're right.
I am covered in mud.
I'll just grab your DIY rain cloud.
Wait, what are you doing?
Squeezing it all over me.
Mindy, that was my science experiment, not a shower.
But it was perfect.
It had soap and water.
And blue food coloring.
Look at yourself.
Squeezing your DIY rain cloud all over me turned me all Ugh, how do I get it off?
I think it's going to take a lot of time and a lot of actual soap.
Oh, Guy Raz, that's a great idea.
What's a great idea?
I'm going to challenge Grandma G-Force to a soap wrestling match.
Be right back.
Hey, Grandma G-Force, this time you're going down.
Welcome, everyone, to the Camp Wee Wow Comedy Club.
Coming up next, To the stage is the Wow Cow.
Let's hear it for the Wow Cow.
Hi, campers.
It's your favorite mascot, Wow Cow, coming at you with a joke.
What does a rain cloud wear underneath its pants?
Wait for it.
Thunderwear!
Eh?
Eh?
Wow, this audience is really funny. try another one.
What's a tornado's favorite dance?
Wait for it.
The twist.
Oh, come on.
Don't rain on my parade.
Okay, last one.
How does a hurricane see where it's going?
It keeps its eye open.
And that's my time.
I'm going to move on out of here.
Welcome out.
Oh, thank you.
Thank you, campers.
I love you.
Thanks so much for joining us at Camp Wee Wow today.
I had a great time making a DIY rain cloud.
And I had a great time body slamming Guy Raz's rain cloud off of my skin.
If you want to make one at home, you'll need a glass or a jar, some water, old-fashioned foamy shaving cream and some blue food coloring.
Fill your glass or jar most of the way up with water, stopping an inch or two from the top.
Then carefully add a small amount of shaving cream on top of the water.
But don't add too much or it'll take a long time for the experiment to work, and you will get.
Finally, add a few drops of food coloring and watch them fall through the clouds and into the water like rain.
And don't pour your DIY rain cloud on your body unless you have a kiddie pool, 10 gallons of bubble bath and a grandma who's into pro wrestling.
And send us a picture or video of your rain cloud.
Grownups, you can share those pictures and videos with us at tinkercast.com slash share.
And this week, we'd like you to call in with a weather report from a location in your imagination.
For example, in Mindyapolis Mindyana, we've got some dark clouds moving in and a 50 chance of raining chocolate-covered anchovies.
Call us at 1-888-7-WOW-WOW and give us a pretend weather report from your imagination.
We'll be sharing some of your messages around the campfire on Friday.
Until then, who wows?
We wow!
And before you go, tell us about yourself by filling out a short survey at wondery.com slash survey.
